The Ancestor of All Demons

Chapter 190: 189 One Light Master

Feng Wu's demons were concocted from captured malicious ghosts that had been tortured to death in extremely cruel ways during their lifetimes; after their death, their souls were repeatedly refined, and their anguish and hatred were intensified through severe torture. Eventually, their logic and memories were gradually eroded until only their will to kill and vent their anger remained.

These demons had forgotten who their enemies were and lacked the concept of kin, driven only by the desire to kill and tear apart any living being they encountered.

Normally, they were bound by Feng Wu's Demon Path secret methods to the Demon Banner; once released, they would swarm toward their target.

Now, they were first immobilized by Shi Feiyang from afar with the Heavenly Secret Demon Technique; the divine demonic aura that burst forth terrified them. As they were repelled, their target shifted to Feng Wu.

Feng Wu could control them with the Demon Banner, and as he was about to shake the banner in his left hand, Shi Feiyang's pupils flashed with Demon Light. Suddenly, the banner ignited, the Demon Fire soared, and it quickly turned to ash and smoke. Feng Wu had no time to protect himself with other magic; terrified, he fled in a panic.

The horde of demons pounced and, through the clothing, tore the flesh from his back, shoulders, arms, legs, chest, and back. They ripped off pieces of clothes and flesh and swallowed them whole.

Bi Xi was bewildered and frowned upon seeing this. He didn't know how his junior brother got in trouble with such a formidable Demon Path master. These demons were also formidable, and to swiftly contain them, he'd have to use the Purple Gold Bowl, which was currently consecrated on the altar for Jiang Shu's ritual. If he interrupted the ritual to contain the demons, he would suffer a backlash of magic.

But seeing Feng Wu in that state, Bi Xi realized he'd truly be torn and devoured alive by the demons he'd created. Reluctantly, he interrupted the ritual, retrieved the bowl, and began an incantation. Suspended in the air, the bowl slowly rotated and cast out Demon Light, enveloping and forcibly collecting the demons inside.

Feng Wu barely survived, his body riddled with hundreds of gaping, bloody wounds from head to toe— even the skin on his cheekbones and forehead was gnawed off, revealing the stark white bone beneath, and he groaned in agony.

Holding the Purple Gold Bowl, Bi Xi turned and challenged Shi Feiyang, "Fellow Daoist, you're using the Heavenly Secret Demon Technique. As far as I know, the Red Body Sect's Jiu Panpo doesn't take male disciples. Could you be from the lineage of the Sand Divine Child?"

The Sand Divine Child was Jiu Panpo's senior brother, who also cultivated the Heavenly Secret Demon Technique.

"Not at all," Shi Feiyang replied, pointing at Jiang Shu hanging on the pole. "And who might you be? Why bully a child? What grievance justifies this?"

"Do you not know who he is?" Bi Xi inquired.

Shi Feiyang shook his head.

"He is a disciple of the Qingcheng Sect's Tian Dou Ming He, the once renowned Demon Suppression True Master Jiang Shu!"

"So, it's him!" Shi Feiyang was startled, looking up at the person, "From the Mysterious Sect's orthodox lineage, originating from the Southwest, a two-character name involving the character for 'female'... it certainly matches Jiang Shu. Has he been reincarnated?"

"Exactly!" Bi Xi affirmed, "We all hail from the lineage of the Demon Sect. His nickname includes the words 'Demon Suppression,' which is anathema to us! Fellow Daoist, though you practice the Secret Demon Technique, the Demon Cults of the world are united! Our previous conflict was a misunderstanding; we indeed should unite to capture his Primordial Spirit and refine him into a Divine Demon!"

"I cannot agree," Shi Feiyang shook his head. Though he was of a different origin and had cultivated magic, he practiced the noble Three Emperors Dao and refused to associate with Demon Monks like Bi Xi and Feng Wu.

"Which branch of the Demon Cult are you from? How did you come into conflict with him?"

"We are disciples of the One Light Master from the Western Demon Cult," Bi Xi explained. "I am Red Lotus Daoist Bi Xi, and this is my junior brother, Hundred Demons Daoist Feng Wu. Our master has ordered us to capture one hundred and eight children with matching horoscopes and good roots for the sacrificial refinement of his Supreme Demon Lamp. We had no issue with this boy, but he actively sought to hinder our plans..."

One Light Master!

Shi Feiyang remembered this name; it was mentioned once in the original text, noted for succumbing to Heavenly Punishment.

The reason for the clear memory was that he met his end due to Heavenly Punishment. Unlike the Heavenly Tribulation faced by all cultivators, Heavenly Punishment was a direct retribution from the cosmos for those who committed grave sins and could not be killed by the Human Tribulation. Those subject to Heavenly Punishment were often malevolent individuals with immense mana, most notably the master of the Evil Corpse Gu Chen from the Heavenly Lustful Sect, who was beyond control and eventually destroyed by Heavenly Punishment.

Furthermore, the name of the One Light Master matched the Dharma title of a king turned monk in a future martial heroes novel, so when Bi Xi mentioned it, Shi Feiyang made the connection.

He didn't believe this One Light Master to be invincible, but he also clearly wasn't a pushover.

Having established a deadly feud with the Emei Sect, and considering the Qingcheng Sect's close ties with Emei, it was likely Jiang Shu would become his enemy as well. Getting involved with a powerful adversary fated for Heavenly Punishment for the sake of Jiang Shu did not seem wise.

Still, Shi Feiyang made his decision without any hesitation.

He practiced the Three Emperors Dao, which emphasized upright conduct. When faced with two Demon Monks causing harm and a Jiang Shu risking life to save others, it was clear which side he should support without consideration. Whether Jiang Shu would be ungrateful in the future was of little concern. If one day Jiang Shu joined Emei to kill him, he would deal with it then.

Bi Xi was still recounting Jiang Shu's wickedness. In his view, killing people to refine treasures was perfectly normal; for people of the Demon Path, it was as simple as eating and drinking. Throughout his speech, he implied that Jiang Shu provoked trouble and courted death on his own initiative.

Shi Feiyang asked, "Where are those children you captured now?"

Bi Xi was startled, "Why are you asking about this? We killed them long ago and stored their souls in a purifying bottle. Otherwise, how could we take care of the eating, drinking, and excreting needs of over a hundred people…"

"That's enough," Shi Feiyang said. "I have a Magical Treasure that requires two Main Primordial Spirits and I hope you two can help me."

Feng Wu was in excruciating pain, disfigured beyond recognition by the Demon he had nurtured for many years, and his Magical Treasure was destroyed too. His heart was filled with extreme hatred for him and had no intention of helping him at all. However, Bi Xi noticed Shi Feiyang's potent mana and signaled to Feng Wu with his eyes to avoid further incidents. Then he asked Shi Feiyang, "What Magical Treasure?"

Shi Feiyang raised his hand, and a flurry of multi-colored petals began to drift around them.

"The Twelve Flower Evil God Gang!" Bi Xi recognized it, "You truly belong to the lineage of the Sand Divine Child! Indeed, this one needs the Main Flower Evil God. It's fine to give Jiang Shu to you, but we still need to find another Primordial Spirit elsewhere…"

He was considering which suitable enemy to direct Shi Feiyang to, intending to use him as a pawn to eliminate his own adversaries.

Shi Feiyang, with a wave of his hand, sent the sea of flowers swarming towards the two: "No need to look elsewhere, you two are perfect candidates!"

Bi Xi hadn't expected Shi Feiyang to take sudden action. Frantically casting, he released Demon Light to protect himself and summoned his bowl back into his hands, shouting, "We bear no grudges, and we both follow the Demon Path. Why do you do this?"

"Who said we're from the same Demon Path!" Shi Feiyang gestured and cast, as even more colorful petals whirled around, scattering in all directions. Wei Fengniang, Zhong Ang, Varnagyin II, and Kāyīn Shābù appeared amidst the floral rain.

Feng Wu's Flying Sword was previously destroyed by Jiang Shu, and subsequently, his Demon Banner was ruined by Shi Feiyang. He was just bitten by his nurtured Demon, wounded all over his body, and had just collapsed, with a large piece of flesh, including his sole and the side of his shoe, torn off.

Demons bite differently from wild beasts; as they tear through flesh, they also suck up essence blood, capable of drawing out a person's Essence Energy. At this moment, afflicted with intense pain and dizziness, Feng Wu's Divine Soul was haggard. Suddenly caught by the Six Paths Flower Slaughter Divine Gang and assaulted by two Barbarian Monks from both sides, he struggled and cried out, "Elder brother, save me…"

He'd barely cried out half of the fourth syllable before being seized by the many arms sprouting from the Barbarian Monks' Divine Demon Bodies, who tore his entire body to pieces!

On the other side, Bi Xi couldn't spare time to save his fellow disciple, as Wei Fengniang and Zhong Ang were even more ruthless. Wei Fengniang, wielding the White Light Sword serpentine-like and in constant attack, sliced at his bowl, causing a clinking noise. Zhong Ang controlled twelve Golden Flower Flying Blades, coming straight at him to chop him into fragments.

Bi Xi's bowl continually sprouted red lotuses, stacking layer upon layer to shield his whole body, front and back. Although they were incessantly torn apart by the blades and swords, they regrew astonishingly fast.

Shi Feiyang used the Heavenly Secret Demon Technique, with the Twelve Flower Evil God Gang turning into twelve colorful pillars of floral smoke, bombarding from all directions, penetrating inside the red lotuses.

Bi Xi bit his tongue tip, spraying blood to aid his casting, but the colorful smoke kept seeping through the gaps in the red lotuses.

He yelled, "If you kill us, my master will never forgive you!"

Suddenly biting off half of his pinky finger, he used the "Bone-Stripping and Body-Swapping Technique" to create a duplicate of himself, luring the enemy's attacks with his spiritual energy while his own body transformed into a beam of blood light that soared into the sky, attempting to escape.

Shi Feiyang sighed, and suddenly, a huge cloud of green smoke appeared overhead, with green chrysanthemums floating within. The Myriad Cold Centipede emerged, exhaling noxious Dan Qi, and flew directly at the blood light, forcibly wrapping around it and shattering the Protective Demon Blood Escape Light.

Bi Xi tried to cast in a bid for escape, but was no match for the Centipede's poison. The toxicity penetrated deep inside him through his eyes, ears, nose, and mouth, killing him instantly!

Shi Feiyang captured both his and Feng Wu's Primordial Spirits. Suddenly sensing someone was spying between heaven and earth, he swiftly turned to the northeast and shouted, "Who's there!"

He collected the Twelve Flower Evil God Gang and flew up, looking and sensing towards the northeast, but saw no one. It seemed to be just his own illusion, with no one really spying in their direction.

He descended back to the ground, rescued Jiang Shu, and broke the magic that bound him, reviving him from the spell.

Jiang Shu opened his eyes, saw him, and was startled, "So you were captured too!"

Jumping up, he noticed the courtyard in disarray, Bi Xi's corpse on the ground, and many chunks of fresh flesh and blood, which were rather shocking. After pondering, he asked disbelievingly, "Did you kill those two from the Demon Path?"
