Anton did not stop casting his spells towards the huge undead army, and if he noticed that the attention of other wizards was not on the enemy that he was targeting, he surreptitiously cast his curses from the Necromancer's skill tree, mainly targeting enemy spellcasters.
He avoided using skills from the Necromancer character because he did not want any wizards to associate any of his spells with the skills of the undead spellcasters. It was not that he felt that the wizards would target him for knowing such skills. Many wizards' skills resembled those of the enemy spellcasters, so no one could truly say that a specific spell was from a Necromancer. It was just that Anton had a deep aversion towards the enemy that he had formed an unhealthy bias against them, almost to the point that he was starting to dislike even his Necromancer character inside his Diablo II system, which was highly illogical.
Anton knew it was unhealthy and might affect his growth. A powerful skill was a powerful skill, and he instinctively knew that his Necromancer from his Diablo II system was highly different from this world's undead spellcasters. In what way, he could not say for sure without doing some more studies, but he knew. The only explanation he could give was that his Necromancer had this game-like quality about it, which was, of course, logical since the character came from inside a game.
Of course, Anton also did not forget to summon his minions to assist the warriors of Mendoza that was working nearer the walls, and he could see that the defenders were truly grateful for his summons' assistance. He was proud to see that his summons powers could rival the most powerful warriors defending the walls.
Once the undead horde retreated, Anton left the array, gave a tablet of dire wolf summoning to Cedon, who was working beside him, and immediately headed back to his apartment. He did not plan to go home in Ormunda to Rose Manor but was planning to spend the day leveling up his ladder Amazon, which was the last character that he needed to level for the second set of seven characters for the current ladder season.
As per his habit, he was leveling up his character by personally entering the world of Sanctuary and playing as the character in virtual mode because his body needed to learn the intricacies of casting his characters' abilities, but as an experiment, for the last set, he planned to level up his ladder characters using the on-screen option.
Also, Anton did a quick research on the internet on how fast he was leveling up his character, and he was shocked to see that he was extremely fast. He thought that he was extremely slow, but one major difference he had with casual players was, when he was focused on leveling up his characters, he spent the whole day doing so, which usually lasted for more than eight hours.
Anton planned to level up his first character in the third set that he was given for each ladder season, using his on-screen option to check if there was a speed difference. Based on the results, if there was a significant difference, he would change how he would level up his characters each ladder season. The first two sets of seven characters, he would level them up using his ordinary way of leveling, which was to enter the game virtually. The last set of seven characters, he would switch to the on-screen option, just like how he would play the game in front of a computer, and at the same time, he could try multi-tasking, like watching a movie while leveling up a character. He wanted to avoid getting burnt out. By the time he was ready to rest, his ladder Amazon leveled up to level 40.

When Anton went to his station on top of the wall to hurl spells at the Undead Horde, Cedon shared essential information with him. According to the young supreme wizard, the wizards in charge of information gathering, whether through divination or the good old scouting efforts of brave men and women, it seemed like the Undead Coalition was planning something massive in the next few weeks.
What irked Anton was when he asked Cedon what the higher-ups were planning to do with that information, the supreme wizard only said that the higher-ups were still waiting.
"Waiting for what?! Why do the higher-ups keep giving time to the undead? What if those monsters finally did something monumental that would allow them to attack Mendoza, that might cause its downfall!"
"Simmer down, Anton. I understand your feelings and somewhat share them, but for now, we can't do anything. The deterrence that semi-divine wizards are too great to ignore, and our semi-divines did not want to cause an all-out battle with them here in our lands."
"They don't want a battle, but what if the undead didn't give them any choice?" Anton asked, and Cedon just shrugged.
It truly irritated Anton that the powerful wizards of Gale Continent were too passive. More than likely, there was some underlying information that caused them to do so that he was not a privy to, but even though he was assured that the resources consumed during their nightly fights with the undead were negligible, deaths do occur.
Anton admitted to himself that he was too impatient and wanted something to happen immediately. Maybe because of his age, but he truly felt that being passive was a stupid move.
When the undead horde arrived at midnight, due to his irritation, Anton did not hold back and cast every skill under his arsenal. He didn't even care if other wizards noticed that he was casting curses. If he had more points on summon skeleton skills, he would have summoned them to but at that moment, he had only put a single point into them, and even if his gear added more skill points to them, they were not powerful enough to have an impact on the huge army. Besides, he knew that revealing something like that due to irritation was a stupid move.
Once the undead army retreated, Anton immediately left his array, gave Cedon the daily tablet of dire wolf summoning, and rushed back to his apartment. After posting the note outside his door that stated that he was unavailable for the entire day to deep meditation and experimentation, he went to the bathroom and used a town portal scroll.
Anton wanted to go home to Rose Manor because there, he would be able to calm down. His temper was truly high that day, and he needed to calm himself. The moment he arrived at his room. He cast the Blizzard spell that was converted into Mana Rain toward the garden and the fruit orchard. The sound of the rain, and smell of the flowers, and the orchard that rose after they received water helped to calm him.
After a few minutes, he heard a knock on his door, and when Anton said to enter, it was Mr. Jenkins who brought breakfast food. He was grateful to the thoughtful butler and started devouring the food that Raymond brought. He knew that everyone in the manor would know that he was back because of the Mana Rain.
After breakfast, Anton took a nap for an hour, and when he woke up, he immediately focused on leveling up his ladder Amazon character. He wanted to reach the maximum level for the Amazon character because once he started his last set of seven characters for this ladder season, he would know if his would be experiment of leveling up his characters using purely the on-screen option would be faster than him entering the game virtually.
