Two days had passed, and the undead had not landed in any part of the southwest beaches, so the higher-ups decided to summon the remaining force home. They could not afford to let the powerful wizards and warriors who were doing nothing but twiddling their thumbs on the southwest beaches of Mendoza. The monitoring of the area would be left to the powerful divination skills of Mendoza mages.
Anton was a little thankful for that because the temporary houses that the mages built beside the sea had too little privacy to use his town portal scroll to go home to the Rose Manor. He really did not want others to know about his ability to create portals because he knew that it was a powerful strategic spell, and he would need to think thoroughly and maybe ask advice from his father before sharing that information.
He knew that he would not hesitate to share that ability if there was really a need to in order to destroy the undead or rescue a kingdom or something, but for now, it was not needed.
It was morning when Anton arrived at his apartment in Mendoza. He planned to go home to Rose Manor using his town portal scroll, but before he did, he pinned a note outside his door that he would not be available to answer his door until ten in the evening due to his doing some deep meditation. Anton's plan was to utilize his portal every couple of days to avoid causing suspicion because of his not being available to be summoned or to even converse with during the day. At least if he only went home every two days, the rest of the time would let him be available to be called into a meeting or even just an ordinary conversation.
Anton knew that after a while, people would not bother him while his note was pinned on the door, and since it was not going to be all the time, he thought that the mages would not bother with his presence. Of course, it was going to be a different story if he was being monitored inside his apartment, but Anton knew that when he thought about the wizards spying on him inside his rooms, he was just being paranoid. That was one of the downsides of his town portal. Once he opened it to go home to Rose Manor, he could not close it until he returned to his apartment in Mendoza. A blue glowing portal was conspicuous. He planned to open it inside his bathroom to hide it a little.
Even if the wizards were spying on him and they learned of his ability to construct a portal, Anton felt that such a kind of magic that was a little limited would not cause too much of a commotion. He hoped.
He wondered what would happen if he transferred a filled town portal book from the game into reality? Would others be allowed to use them? Anton decided to ask his system through the browser and was delighted that his Diablo II system sent him a notification that answered all his questions about the town portal scroll.
The notice said that from then on, he could choose the daily transfer between a minor health potion, a minor mana potion, and a town portal scroll. If he gave the scroll to others, they would be able to use it, but those people need to set up a safe base where the town portal would be anchored. They could do so by holding onto a scroll, and the option to set up the home base would appear in the mind of the one holding the town portal scroll. The moment he collected twenty town portal scrolls, it would turn into the town portal book, which was simply a sort of storage for the scrolls.

Anton immediately switched the daily transfer of selected items from the game to real life, from the minor healing potion to the town portal scroll. A scroll was transferred from the game into real life. To use it, one just needs to rip it apart, and the scroll was supposed to disappear, and then the portal would appear.
He planned to give it to his father so Anders could use it for emergency escape purposes. Anton activated his town portal inside his bathroom at around eight in the morning and entered it. He appeared in his room in the Rose Manor, which was the place he set up as his town portal base.
Anton was extremely happy about his ability to immediately go home. He left his room while the portal was open because he couldn't close it, or else he would not be able to return to Mendoza immediately.
One of the maids was startled and dropped the rag she was holding when she saw Anton.
"Can you call my father, if he's here, and Mr. Jenkins to my room?" Anton asked the maid, and the maid nodded immediately and left.
Anton sat on one of the chairs by the window, waiting for his father and the butler. While he did so, he cast the Blizzard spell that was turned into Mana Rain towards the garden and the fruit orchard. He saw that the gardeners who were walking in the middle of the two fields were surprised, but did not react too much.
After a few minutes, he heard a knock on his door, and when Anton told them that it was open, his father and Mr. Jenkins entered his room.
"Anton, you're back! What is that?!" Anders said while pointing at the glowing portal.
"I learned a new spell called Base Portal. The spell allowed me to set up a specific place as my base, and I could open a portal, enter it, and would be able to reach the base immediately. I can't close the portal, though, because if I want to return to the place where I was previously, I would need to enter the portal again. I did mention it to the letter I gave Mr. Jenkins to give to you," Anton said.
"Your letter was so short that I didn't understand what you meant. Why can't you close that portal? Can't you just summon it again if you want to return to Mendoza?" Anton's father asked.
Anton gave a detailed explanation of how his Town Portal ability worked to his father and Mr. Jenkins. He was calling the ability Base Portal since it was a little weird to call it Town Portal when he was using it to return to his room instead of a town. After Anders and the butler understood how Anton's town portal scroll worked, Anders praised the ability since it would allow Anton to return home immediately.
"So that means that you can return here every day after your shift in defending the walls of Mendoza!" Anders exclaimed.
"I can, but I won't. I decided to return home after every couple of days or maybe even more to avoid suspicion. I still don't want this ability of mine to spread, so don't share it with anybody," Anton told his father, but the message was meant for Mr. Jenkins.
"Still, it's a very good spell! Thankfully, no one can use it if they're not part of your party system. It's quite conspicuous!"
"Yes. I also understand how powerful a strategic weapon it could be because even with its limitations, I can still utilize it to bring an army to a specific place immediately. To be honest, I'm prepared to use it if I know that we can defeat the Undead Coalition," Anton said seriously.
"I would prefer for you not to disclose it yet and study every aspect of the situation where you think it would be needed. I remember what happened with that Invincible Wizard Katrina," Anders said.
