My Favorite Game Followed Me!

Chapter 617

Anton was back at his station inside the long-range and magic-strengthening array in the walls of Mendoza before midnight. The other members of his supposed mage squad just looked at him and went to their station without greeting him, which was the normal procedure he had with them.

That was why he was closer to his previous squad compared to his current one. The only one who was friendly to him was Cedon.

Anton couldn't fault the supreme wizards who were members of his squad because they were all old men and women who were incredibly busy with their own work aside from defending the walls of Mendoza during their shift. When Cedon arrived, the young supreme wizard just stared at him wryly and briefly said that the supreme wizard would need to talk to him after the undead horde retreated.

The attack that night was mostly the same as the other nights, so when the undead retreated, Cedon invited Anton to a meeting. At first, he thought that the young Supreme Wizard would talk about what happened the day before or would scold him for saying that he would take leave from defending the walls after he left the array, but when he followed Cedon to a large room, it was filled with powerful wizards and warriors, and there were four wizards at the front.

Cedon whispered to him that the three wizards at the front were Invincible Wizards and the one at the center was a Semi-Divine wizard.

The Semi-Divine wizard was named Archibald, and he looked like he was in his early thirties, like Cedon, but the powerful mage was actually hundreds of years old. According to Cedon in one of their talks, a mage would not be able to reach that kind of rank without extreme age because the knowledge and power needed to be accumulated to reach such a rank required a huge amount of time.

"Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. I called you all here because I want to invite all of you to join a powerful group of wizards and warriors that would attack the newly landed undead army to the Southwest of our kingdom. If the undead successfully formed a massive base like the one in the west, our kingdom would suffer an attack from the Coalition on two fronts. One from the west and one from the south. The team we're forming consists of the most powerful men and women we can currently spare from the defense of the West Wall, and all of you here have met the requirements to lead that team. Submit your name and all other details to Demos here," The Semi-Divine Wizard Archibald said while pointing at the Invincible beside him.

The information and request that the powerful wizard Archibald were brief and on point. He wanted the undead that were forming on the beaches to the southwest to be annihilated immediately before a semi-divine lich arrived.

The team would be formed immediately within the next two hours and would leave immediately after a few minutes. Anton did not waste any time and submitted his name to the Invincible Wizard that the Semi-Divine wizard Archibald pointed at. To his surprise, Cedon joined him.

"Why be surprised? I was invited as well, that's why I'm here."

"What about me? Am I invited, or did you just bring me along?"

"Of course, you're invited. Your power is already well-known to the upper echelons of Mendoza. They asked me to invite you."

After Anton told the Invincible Wizard, who was gathering the details of those who wanted to join the elite force that would try to annihilate the undead army that landed on the southwest beaches, he was told to go to the south gate and join the group there.

Anton and Cedon traveled together in a carriage to go to the south gate, and when they exited the gate, they immediately saw a gathering of powerful wizards and warriors nearby. The two immediately joined the group that was being led by three Invincible Wizards.

Once all those who volunteered finally gathered, one of the Invincible wizards cast some sort of loudspeaker spell and informed everyone to rush to the southwest army using all the tools they could command.

After that, those who can fly flew, those who wanted to ride powerful artifacts did so, those who wanted to ride summoned creatures did not hesitate and summoned them, and the powerful warriors started running with amazing speed to the south. Anton flew up, made sure that there was no one behind his back, and started casting spells behind him to boost his speed.

After around five hours of traveling using extreme speed, they gathered at a point several miles away where the undead army had landed. They waited for at least an hour more before everyone arrived. When they had all gathered, the Invincible wizard told them to make sure that the skills and spell they used would affect their side, and then, after that, he commanded them to attack.

Anton was startled to learn that the attack would be free for all. It was basically a rumble, and for some reason, Anton favored the style. He immediately flew towards where the undead were and, when he was in range, made sure that no companion of his would be affected and started casting cold spells first to make sure that those undead affected by his spells would either be slowed down or frozen.

As expected, about half of his spells were blocked by the enemy spellcaster, but it did not matter. Anton was not alone. Several powerful spells landed on the undead army, and powerful warrior skills attacked the undead horde indiscriminately.

The enemy spellcaster consisted of liches, necromancers, higher-ranking vampires, hags, and more tried their best to block the attacks of the forces of Mendoza's forces, but their surprise attack was highly effective.

The enemy forces were unprepared to meet their attacks. Anton simply avoided the spells that targeted him using his Teleportation spell, and those that he couldn't avoid, he met them head-on, and his defenses and healing abilities were enough that he was not in any danger.

The moment the melee attackers from the elite forces of Mendoza began clashing with the undead army, Anton switched to his single attack spell and mostly cast area of effect spells farther away behind the enemy lines, where his teammates would not be affected. He was not the only one doing it that way. Most wizards from their side were doing the same thing.

At first, Anton tried to target the most powerful enemy spellcasters, but he noticed that a lot of wizards and stealthy warriors on their side were doing the same thing, so he switched to targeting the general undead army. Mowing down a large number of low-level enemies was his specialty anyway.

After a while, Anton noticed that several warriors and wizards were heavily injured and ran behind. He then saw that one of their side's weaknesses was the lack of powerful healers, so he decided to join the heavily injured men and women, started adding them seven at a time to his party system, and activated his Prayer Aura. Once all of the people in his party system were healed, he switched to the Vigor Aura, then the Meditation Aura to fill all their mana and stamina. He did the same thing to other injured people, and since he could heal seven people at a time, it only took several minutes before everyone was up and ready for battle again, so he joined the main attackers in attacking the undead again.

Once there were enough injured people again, Anton would immediately switch to being a healer, then once everyone was healed, he would switch back to being an attacker.
