Global Gods : Skill-Resonance Awakened

Chapter 222: Ch 222 : Let me show you why we are called as Gods

The six billion Gods of the Pantheon, watching the live broadcast from the safety of their God spaces, were completely silent.

The shock of what they had just witnessed; their Emperor, God Cosmos, silencing an army of twenty-seven ancient demon gods with two casual words, was still settling in.

But their awe was quickly replaced by a new terror. They watched as the two leaders of the demonic pack, the colossal Edgar and the fiery Kash, broke the law.

They watched them struggle against that command, their forms convulsing, and then, with a final effort, they freeed themselves from the Emperor's will.

A ripple of fear went through the Pantheon. Their Emperor was mighty, yes. But he was not perfect. These... Beings... were on another level entirely.

This realization, this first taste of the real war, did not break their spirit. This made them even more resolute.

In the God space of Asura, the God of the Kshara planet, a righteous fury ignited within him. He stood from his throne.

"Thea," he commanded, his voice a low rumble. "Send me to my Emperor. The time for watching is over."

In another God space, Zir, his face a mask of fanatical loyalty, was already standing. "What are you waiting for, Thea?! The Boss is in a fight! Send me in!"

Joker too stood up from his throne and said, "Oh, this is a real party. 27 demon gods, and two of them are even at the same level as emperor." He too stood, a wicked grin on his face. "Count me in, Thea. I want a front-row seat."

Nyx, Reflection, Strategist… one by one, the sixteen Gods who thought of themselves as capable of fighting these demons began to request Thea to send them into the space.

They were not just subjects. They were the Emperor's sword, and they would not stand idly by while their leader faced the darkness alone.

[Master,] Thea's voice chimed in Sunny's mind, a hint of something he could only describe as pride in her tone.

[Sixteen Gods wish to join the battle. Should I guide them through the portals?]

A grin spread across Sunny's face, hidden behind his mask. "Why not?" he murmured, his gaze fixed on the twenty-seven demons. "They aren't going to die anyway."

The Divine Immortality he had gifted them, the nine lives he had bestowed, was a blessing that could only be used in such occasions "Let them come, Thea. Let them have their fun."

Adam, standing beside him, his eyes blazing with a fire, let out a proud laugh. His million year long gambit, his desperate, final act that had created this new generation of Gods, was finally, finally bearing fruit.

Sixteen portals tore open in the space behind Sunny and Adam. From them, the Gods who wished to fight for glory and pride emerged.

"Haha! And here I thought there were only two of you!" Edgar's voice boomed, his colossal form looming over them, his crooked red smile seeming to widen in delight. "Now, it is a true feast! So many new, delicious little Gods to consume!"

Sunny's cosmic gaze remained fixed on the giant. He could not get any information. His God's Eye, which could pierce the veil of any being below him, was useless against Edgar and Kash.

Their power, their very existence, was a mystery. He would have to be vigilant.

"The plan is simple," Sunny's voice echoed directly in the minds of his allies. "Adam will take the fiery one. I will take Edgar." He turned his gaze to the sixteen newly arrived Gods. "The rest... are yours. Show me what the Gods of my Pantheon are made of."

"With pleasure, Emperor," Asura's voice rumbled as his eyes, blazing with a righteous fire, locked onto a hulking, four-armed demon god.

"This is going to be expensive," Joker muttered, already calculating the faith-cost of the spells he was about to unleash.

But his face showed a hidden grin as he knew that he could get back that amount after making fun of these demon gods, and possibly some of the gods too.

A multi-front war ignited in the dark space. Adam, roaring with the pent-up fury of a million years, shot toward Kash like a golden comet.

The sixteen Gods descended upon the 25 terrified, and now silenced, demon gods, their battle a chaotic, beautiful explosion of a hundred different laws and powers.

And Sunny... Sunny was left alone, floating in the void, facing the colossal and utterly terrifying form of Edgar.

"You sure talk big" Sunny said, his voice calm as he looked at Edgar. He raised a single hand. "Let me show you why we are called as Gods"

He decided to begin this fight with a declaration of overwhelming power. He activated his God's Authority, which was now good enough to use two talents at the same time, and the two talents that Sunny was using were: Nova's Charged Explosion and Mammon's Talent Resonance.

Using talent resonance he wove all of his talents; his Time Affinity, his Magic Affinity, and the very authority of his God's Domain; into a complex, and lethal framework.

Then, he poured the fuel into that framework. He opened the floodgates of his Charged Explosion talent, unleashing the stored, cumulative power of his entire empire.

The power of every lifeform's breakthrough, every champion's victory in the tournament, every new birth, every prayer of hope; a torrent of energy surged into the weapon he had just forged.

The void itself screamed. An ethereal hand, a hand so colossal it dwarfed even the gigantic Edgar, materialized in the space above him.

This was a hand of law. A swirling, multi-colored hand, its "veins" a river of white-gold, explosive energy, its "skin" a tapestry of a dozen different SS-Grade talents.

Edgar, the Legion-Born demon, looked up. And for the first time in his long existence, the glowing, red, circular holes widened in what could only be described as shock.

He tried to defend. He raised his own massive, black-and-white arms, a shield of his own law forming in front of him.

Sunny's hand descended.

Edgar's shield dissolved. The Hand plunged into his colossal chest with grace. A spray of golden blood erupted from his back.

But Sunny wasn't done. He raised his other hand.

A second Cosmic Hand, an identical twin of the first, formed in the void below Edgar.

He clenched his fists. The two hands, one of heaven, one of earth, clapped together. They crushed the demon god between them.

A multi-colored explosion of light erupted in the void. The shockwave shot across the battlefield.

The 25 demon gods, who had just been engaging with the Pantheon, were sent tumbling, their forms flickering, their silent screams of terror echoing in the minds of all present.

Sunny stood in the center of the destruction, his cosmic robe swirling. He looked at the dissipating cloud of black-and-white energy, the last remnant of the demon.

"Are you dead?" he called out, his voice laced with a cold, mocking tone. "Even a bug doesn't die that soon. Stand up."

The golden blood, which had been floating lifelessly in the void, stopped. It reversed its course. It flew back to a single, central point.

The black-and-white energy, which had been dissipating, began to take shape. Edgar's colossal form reformed, his body a mangled, a massive, gaping, hand-shaped hole in his chest.

But he was alive. And the crooked, red, smiling line on his face was wider, more manic, more terrifying, than ever.

"Good… good…" Edgar's voice echoed, no longer a taunt, but a rumble of hunger. "You do have some skills, bug. But you made one, fatal mistake"

He raised his own black-and-white hand. The black energy, the white light, the golden veins… they all began to swirl. As a cosmic hand similar to what Sunny had made began to form in the space above him.

"Damn…" Sunny whispered, a genuine flicker of dread in his soul.

The Gods in their spaces, watching on the live feed, screamed. Adam, locked in a furious battle with Kash, froze, his face going pale.

The demonic hand descended, aimed not just at Sunny, but at Veridia, at the heart of the God's Domain.
