Global Gods : Skill-Resonance Awakened

Chapter 221: Ch 221 : Silencing The Demon Gods

For centuries, the hunt had been a cold, boring, and fruitless affair. Out of the 20,000 demon gods, twenty-six demon gods, a pack of predators unleashed by Deimos's decree, had swept through this sector of the multiverse and found nothing.

The new Gods, the ones born from Adam's artifact, were cowards. They had hidden themselves away, their worlds hidden by some unknown power, leaving the hunters to starve in an empty space.

This endless search had made them irritable. It had made them angry. In their boredom, they had taken to committing casual atrocities; extinguishing suns, consuming the lifeforms of entire Godless planets, and torturing these poor souls just to pass the boredom.

Then, they found it.

A scent. A faint whisper of divine energy in a part of the void that should have been empty. It was a trail of life, a beacon of such overwhelming power that it pulled at their very souls.

They followed it, a pack of starved wolves drawn to a living feast. And they found its source.

"Haha, finally!" a voice like a roaring furnace echoed in the silent void. "A planet, protected by a God! This one is mine, brothers! I discovered it!"

The speaker was Kash, a being of pure, sentient, malevolent energy.

He was a Legion-Born, a demigod birthed by the Demonic Realm itself, his form a swirling vortex of purple fire, a crown of shadowflame on his head, his 'body' was a core of burning malice.

He and his 25 allies had found the source of the divine energy: a colossal, vibrant planet, larger than a star, radiating an aura of life so potent it was almost making them drool. It was Veridia.

"You wish, Kash," a new voice rumbled, a sound so deep and vast it seemed to shake the very fabric of space. This voice did not come from the pack; it came from the darkness behind them.

A new figure emerged, and the other 26 demon gods, including the fiery Kash, instantly recoiled, their arrogant auras dimming to a respectful flicker.

The newcomer was colossal, so large that Veridia looked like a mere marble at its feet. Its form was a perfect symmetry.

One half of its body was a pristine, polished white, like divine porcelain. The other half was a deep, light-devouring black, a patch of absolute void.

Golden veins, pulsing with a sick, unholy power, snaked across both halves, stitching them together.

Where a face should be, there were only two, perfectly circular, glowing red holes for eyes, and a permanent, crooked, glowing red line for a mouth; a smile that stretched from ear to ear, a show of insanity.

This was Edgar, also known as "Death" in the demonic realm. He, too, was a Legion-Born, but he was many league above Kash.

"We found this planet at the same time, little flame," Edgar's smiling mouth did not move, but his voice echoed in their minds. "But as I am stronger, I will be the one to have the fun here. All of you… get lost."

"Edgar… you…" Kash's purple flames sputtered with rage. He was a Legion-Born, a being of immense pride. He would not be dismissed like a common cur.

But as he looked at the overwhelming size of Edgar, at the cold, red, unblinking circles that passed for eyes, his anger was choked by a cold fear.

He knew, without a single doubt, that if he fought Edgar, he would not just be defeated; he would be erased. He bowed his fiery head in a gesture of submission.

Inside the shimmering, invisible barrier of the God's Domain, Sunny and Adam stood on the surface of Veridia's moon, observing the silent, terrifying gathering of their new "guests."

"Quite a few ugly bastards have come to knock on our door, Adam," Sunny said, his voice a casual hum.

His God's Eye was already at work, scanning, analyzing, and categorizing. He could feel the power radiating from the 27 demons.

Twenty-five of them were cannon fodder, lesser demon gods that his subordinates could likely handle. But the two in the front… they were different. They were monsters on a completely different level.

"I know the white and black one," Adam's voice was a low, grim rumble, his eyes fixed on the colossal figure of Edgar. "His name is Edgar. He was just a lesser demon god during the great war, a minor nuisance. But the power I feel from him now… he has grown strong, Cosmos. He is one of their top-tier Demon God."

Adam turned to Sunny, his face a mask of worry. "My strength is still returning. I can handle the 26 rabble. But Edgar… in my current state, I cannot fight him."

He looked at the masked Emperor, the being who had repelled a Void Beast. "Can you take him?"

Sunny's cosmic mask was unreadable. He felt the cold, oppressive aura of Edgar, a power that seemed to want to erase the very laws of life.

But his Divine Intuition, the talent that had screamed in terror at the sight of the Void Beast, was now… quiet.

Sunny gave a single, slight nod. "I will take Edgar. You handle the others."

"Ants!" Edgar's voice suddenly boomed, a roar that smashed against the God's Domain barrier, a sound that made the invisible wall shimmer and drain a trillion faith from Sunny's reserves.

"Submit to me now, and I shall grant you the mercy of a painless death! Resist, and I will devour your world, one screaming soul at a time!"

The other 26 demon gods laughed, a chorus of cruel sound.

Sunny just looked at them. He raised a hand in a simple gesture of annoyance.

And he spoke.

"Shut up."

His voice was a calm, simple command, spoken with the absolute authority of his Divine Command. It was a law.

Instantly, the 25 "fodder" demon gods froze. Their mouths, open in a chorus of mocking laughter, snapped shut. They grabbed at their throats, their eyes wide with terror.

The very concept of speech, of sound, had been stolen from them. They were trapped in a prison of silence, unable to even scream.

But the two Legion-Born fought.

Edgar's colossal form shuddered, the golden veins on his body pulsing with a defiant light. He strained against this new law, his entire being pushing back against Sunny's will.

With the force of a collapsing star, he tore his "mouth" open and forced a single sound from his being. "Hmph," he growled. "Petty tricks."

Kash, the weaker of the two, had it harder. His purple flames sputtered and dimmed, his entire form convulsing as he fought the command.

He clawed at his own fiery throat, finally, with an agonizing effort, he managed to stammer, his voice a pathetic whisper: "Y-yeah… p-petty… t-tricks."

This single, two-word exchange had established the power hierarchy of the new war.

In their own God spaces, the 6 billion Gods of the Pantheon, let out a collective gasp, they wanted to know the cause of these tremors.

In the end they decided to ask Thea about what was going on in the space, what was the reason for this sudden oppressive aura.

Thea, couldn't just show them what was happening without the permission of Sunny, thus she mentally told her master about the questions from the Gods.

"They wanted to know what is happening," he said, his voice calm. "I believe it is only right to show them."

Thea showed what Sunny had done just now, through the recording, which shook all the 6 billion Gods.

Their Emperor… their Emperor had just silenced an army of ancient, terrifying demon gods with two words.

The fear that had been coiling in their souls of the demons, was suddenly replaced by a new, fanatical awe for their new master.

Sunny, feeling the sudden surge of faith from his awestruck followers, smiled as he looked at the enormous Edgar.
