Chapter 4942: Reunited

Chapter 4942: Reunited

“That little girl is buying sugar sculptures over there!” Feng Jiu shook her head.

Hearing their Mother’s words, Muchen and Hao’er’s eyes lit up with joy. They quickly stood up and looked in the direction their Mother was pointing, but being short and the street crowded, they couldn’t see where Yue’er was.

“Little sister? The young daughter our master mentioned?” Mi’er beside them also jumped to her feet, scanning left and right but spotting no one.

“Over there,” Feng Jiu said, striding forward.

Yue’er was currently watching the candy sculptor deftly shaping sugar figures. Her wide eyes fixed on him as she said, “Make it look just like me! And make it pretty, okay?”

“Little Sister!”

“Little Sister!”

Hao’er and Muchen approached and called out the moment they spotted her.

Yue’er, who had been staring intently at the sugar sculptures, froze upon hearing the familiar voices. She turned to look around and saw two figures running toward her from a short distance away. When she saw those two figures, she paused in surprise.

Those two faces weren’t familiar to her, but their builds and the expressions in their eyes were unmistakably familiar. Without a second thought, she knew they were her two brothers, disguised.

Her face immediately broke into a delighted smile as she ran toward them. “Big Brother! Brother!”

“Little Sister, we finally found you! Are you okay? Did you run into any trouble out here alone?” Hao’er took her hand, his eyes brimming with unhidden joy as he looked at her.

“Running off like that—don’t you know how worried we get?” Muchen scolded, his face stern, carrying himself with all the authority of an older brother.

Yue’er stuck out her little tongue, feeling both guilty and remorseful. “I… I just missed Mother so much, I snuck out. But don’t worry, I’m fine. Nothing bad happened.”

Then she whispered, “Um… is Master angry with me? Is he really upset?”

“If you were worried he’d be angry, why did you sneak out?”

A voice suddenly spoke. Yue’er’s eyes widened in shock as she stared at the figure approaching slowly. Though the face wasn’t Mother’s, the voice was unmistakably hers.

“Mother?” she called out in disbelief, her voice trembling.

Feng Jiu approached, her expression softening at the sight of her daughter’s bewildered little face. Though she’d intended to scold her for running away, the sight of her soft, delicate daughter made her words die on her lips.

“Have you suffered? Were you hurt out there? Did you eat properly? Why have you lost weight?” Feng Jiu stroked her daughter’s head and pinched her arm. Though the flesh was soft, she still felt her daughter had grown thin.

“Waaah… Mother, I missed you so much, so very much…” Yue’er recovered her senses, threw herself into her arms, and burst into tears.

Hearing her little daughter’s words, Feng Jiu’s heart ached with both tenderness and guilt.

“There, there. No more crying, sweetheart.” She wiped the tears from her face and said, “Do you know how worried your Mother would be if you ran off alone? What if something happened to you? What would your Mother do then?”

“Mother, I’m sorry. Yue’er disobeyed both you and Master,” she whispered softly, lowering her head in remorse.

Seeing this, Hao’er spoke up: “Little Sister, not long after you slipped away, Mother came to see us. She brought us out too. We’ve been by Mother’s side all this time.”
