Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4714 Among Ghosts

Chapter 4714  Among Ghosts

"Resentment and rage." Davis had two words to describe it, but he didn't stop, "And a will to survive."

"At least, that's what my Ghost Will made me feel. It was exhilarating, unbound, and made me feel like I could do anything despite the obvious difference in strength. Unlike these ghosts, I could totally control my form, even suppress my rage and resentment. It's not that different than my Will. However, I would totally want to remain as the living since I have my wives to take care of."

A sly smirk emerged on his lips, "Without healthy flesh, hmm… it won't be right…!"

Fairy Thunderblaze's bosoms heaved as he also giggled with him.

"You're not going to say that I'm a pervert?" Davis was momentarily taken aback by her reaction.

Why was she laughing with him? It didn't seem right. He told her that to get her flustered.

"Your appetite is always high. I could see that from the beginning with he number of women you have by your side, so I don't intend to blame you for trying to entertain me and win over my smile. It's normal."

"…"

Davis watched her walk ahead with elegant steps.

He was entertaining her?

Certainly, he was bored with just the ghosts around, so anyone would do for him to want to joke around. But it seemed like she took that as a form of flattering.

Davis inwardly sneered and caught up to her.

"Abandon all thoughts of your fantasies. I'm not interested in thorny flowers."

"…"

Fairy Thunderblaze's expression froze.

However, she didn't respond and continued walking ahead.

Suddenly, the atmosphere around them turned awkward. Silence was prevalent. Only the eerie ravings of the ghosts could be heard occasionally.

Davis felt like he had said too much, but he didn't regret it.

The past few days, he could vaguely sense her trying to shorten the distance between them. Whether she was consciously or subconsciously doing it didn't matter to him, and he didn't dare use Heart Intent to check because he really didn't want to be tied to this woman.

She was extremely tempting, but he didn't dare scoop a taste.

She was scary. He couldn't tell what she was thinking most of the time. If he were even the slightest bit overbearing, she might just disappear and abandon him, breaking his heart. He wasn't prepared for that kind of nonsense in this day and age, where he already had numerous responsibilities on his head.

Entering a complicated relationship with her was the least of his priorities.

As he walked with a carefree expression on his face, he glanced towards the side and momentarily caught a glance of her watery eyes.

"You…" Davis was stunned.

Was she almost about to cry?

"Do you always think of me to be a heartless woman?" Fairy Thunderblaze turned to glare at him, her black-crimson eyes staring daggers.

However, she didn't wait for an answer and shot forward with a blazing intensity, instantly leaving the area.

By the time Davis returned to his senses, it was already two seconds later.

His expression changed as he also shot forward, intending to catch up to her. However, he couldn't find her. His senses were limited, and the fog of ghostly yin didn't let him see through.

'This… she's intentionally concealing herself from me…'

With that earlier burst, there was no way he wouldn't be able to detect her.

However, he didn't know which direction she had gone after going straight.

'Should I take a look at her karmic thread...?'

He asked himself, not really wanting to see it and affecting his own heart. Even now, he couldn't tell if it was really her emotions or if she was just playing with him. He couldn't put it over her to be genuine when all she revealed was a pair of fangs that intended to suck his life and take advantage of him every time.

Nonetheless, he didn't give up searching and looked around.

"Ghosts, move out of the way. Fairy Thunderblaze, where are you? It's dangerous to be out here alone. Come back."

He shouted.

He moved in all directions, but he felt like he was only going in circles. It was still a good thing as he felt like Fairy Thunderblaze was around here by detecting the remnant strands of her energy. She hadn't gone straight ahead like a foolish woman.

Regardless of whether she was fast or not, she had fought and killed the ghosts in her wake. It was quite obvious if he looked close enough, but she was faster and didn't bother about her safety anymore as she sped around the area.

"If you're going to be like this and make this trip difficult, there's really no point in bringing me here!"

He echoed, traversing a path that had cobblestones.

He guessed there were humans who had lived in this area before.

In the distance, he saw the signs of a town and a figure, causing him to silently sigh.

He had finally found her.

"Huh?

But as he got closer and the fog receded, he was momentarily taken aback.

"Eh?" The other party was also momentarily taken aback.

This person appeared like a woman. However, Davis was not sure whether they could be called a person, as they had an ashen countenance, pale skin, and a thin, skeletal facial structure, as though they had been deprived of food for a really long time.

Her eyes were crimson, and her aura reeked of decay and cadaveric miasma. The air trembled faintly from cadaveric energy as she moved and brought down a scythe on Davis without any warning.

Davis blinked.

When the scythe blade almost landed on his head, he captured it with his two fingers before it could pierce into his skull. He then slightly moved it, checking out the others who wore similar black robes.

They bore sutures along their limbs and ribs, marks of stitching a corpse. Their veins pulsed black, carrying the tainted energy that preserved their flesh. The woman in front of him even possessed sigils etched on her forehead.

"Die!!!~"

She shrieked out, wanting to make Davis disoriented.

However, Davis was still unaffected. His soul didn't even experience the slightest fluctuation after being hit with a soul attack from a cadaveric corpse cultivator of the Demonheart Shadow Palace.

"A mere Level Nine Immortal Emperor can't be this arrogant to attack me twice."

Davis's expression wasn't good. He reached out his other hand, slapping the woman. It carried the vexation he felt from the previous incident.

*Pow~*

It caused the corpse woman to explode into a black mist, spreading cadaveric poison even in her death.
