Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4576: Escaping The Basin?

Chapter 4576: Escaping The Basin?

"Oh, Nadia." Davis felt relieved, "That’s great! Quickly leave the area. The False Dawn Harbinger is returning...!"

"Understood!" Nadia shook with hope, "Eh? But Master, how would you come?"

"Don’t worry! I’ll find another way!"

"O-okay~" Nadia’s worry was plain to hear.

Davis inwardly sighed. Fortunately, they had made it, and he had closed enough distance to communicate.

As for him, he had to sacrifice his avatar, but it wasn’t a big deal. He could recreate it later since the requirement was only his soul essence, which he could heal back. It also led to gaining more karmic burden, but who cared? It would merely be a drop in the ocean for his current stature since he had reincarnated nine times, and the combined karmic burden of all the tribulations that he would have to receive would strike him in his Empyrean Tribulation.

Only if he died and revived would the karmic burden be huge.

Nonetheless, the barren lands didn’t give him a good feeling since it was like standing naked and exposed even while being concealed. There was a river to the right side that he needed to cross if he needed to get to them, so he could only try re-entering the dark hill to search for an underground cave or go through the hill on its left to see if there was any kind of natural bridge that stretched across the river.

Otherwise, he would be traveling in a different direction entirely and never reunite with them.

=======

The northern valley came into view.

Jagged cliffs arched like the jaws of a great beast, its wide basin funneling a few majestic wolves into a chokepoint. Nadia and her two doppelgangers landed with thunderous impact, their claws digging deep into the rocky earth before they turned around.

The cultivators racing behind instantly noticed the blockade. Their expressions warped into rage and disdain.

"Move aside!"

A brawny man clad in molten-brown armor roared. Earthen might swelled from his body, his aura like a mountain splitting the heavens. He clenched his fist, causing the valley floor to tremble ever so lightly. Rock pillars surged upward, threatening to crush Nadias into dust. His prowess was dense, abruptly increasing from ten levels higher to eleven levels higher.

Nadia’s crimson mane flared, and her purple-golden eyes shone with killing intent. Her jaws opened wide, and a deathly howl was about to erupt. The heaven and earth were about to tremble. Netherflames writhed beneath her paws as she prepared to pounce and tear the man apart in a single strike.

But before she could, a streak of radiant golden lightning flashed past her.

*Bzzz! Crackle!~*

Fairy Thunderblaze shot forward like a thunder goddess, the sound of it echoing throughout the region.

*Booom!~*

The rock pillars exploded, and the earthen genius’s body shattered in midair. His protective armor and energy crumbled like brittle clay. His flesh was torn apart into chunks, exploding as arcs of thunder roared through him, scattering his soul into smoke.

The others froze.

"Wh-What...!?"

"Weaklings~" Fairy Thunderblaze’s black eyes gleamed with contempt.

Her majestic figure was accentuated by the apocalyptic-like whip in her hands. It surged with divine golden lightning, each crackle echoing like the terrifying thunder that could be heard in tumultuous storms.

She cracked her whip once more, its sound splitting the air like a thunderclap. Her voice resounded, sharp and merciless.

"Trash do not have the right to insult true geniuses."

With that, she lashed forward. The whip stretched and cut through the ranks of geniuses like a serpent of divine lightning, spiraling and twisting. Some dodged backward with desperate flips, thinking themselves safe. However-

*Boom~* *Boom~*

The sound spheres tethered to the whip detonated. In the split second of their distraction, the whip recoiled unnaturally, bending angles it shouldn’t have, and tore through their bodies mid-flight. Limbs flew, screams echoed, and blood mist splattered against the walls of the dunes.

One genius tried to summon his water barrier to resist, but the sonic explosions rattled his concentration. The whip cleaved him apart, his organs scattering in midair.

Another shrieked, unleashing a sound-based counterattack of his own, but the whip wrapped around his throat, twisted, and with a single pull, his head burst like an overripe melon.

Nadia’s doppelgangers stood firm, their purple-golden eyes cold as ice as they let Fairy Thunderblaze rip through the opposition.

Isabella raised her hand, her eyes gleaming dangerously, ready to suppress anyone who got past. Myria stood even calmer, her silver gaze piercing the battlefield as though searching for shrewd prey.

Tia stood still, looking at the valley Davis had left.

However, all of them were shocked that Fairy Thunderblaze took action first.

The battlefield in front of them was one of pure slaughter.

"No! I didn’t make a sound. I didn’t insult-"

*Rip!~*

A woman echoed, but her head her head flew from the teeth, and her soul got instantly fried and destroyed.

Fairy Thunderblaze’s whip showed no mercy. Anyone who approached the northern valley got sliced to pieces.

The cultivators who survived scattered, their bravado shattered. Some fled without shame, others regrouped and began shouting orders in panic, but they ended up dying to Fairy Thunderblaze’s overwhelming power.

There was no time to cast Divine Techniques. She was extremely fast, her form speeding like lightning, and each movement of hers echoing like thunder, disrupting their perception. She was a killing machine. If they tried to dodge, her uniquely-shaped whip tethered with sound spheres in certain lengths exploded and still managed to kill them in the next rebound.

Within a minute, nearly all geniuses ended up dying. The ones who escaped were very few. They tried to hide near the dunes or inside them, afraid that the False Dawn Harbinger might return anytime now.

Fairy Thunderblaze waved her hand, collecting her spoils of war before she turned to look.

"Let’s go. There’s no time to waste."

Myria and the others looked around and gazed at the western valley before heading north. They stood near the valley’s exit, trying to contact Davis, but Nadia couldn’t.

As Immortal Emperors who could match Empyreans in power, their connection range should be huge, but she couldn’t connect well. Nadia focused, trying to grasp his soul. As long as he could come a bit closer, she had confidence in being able to speak with him. After all, she could still sense his vague location. He was only a few hundred million kilometers away.

"Funny that you moved before us." Isabella glanced at Fairy Thunderblaze.

Fairy Thunderblaze was expressionless, "No one but me can take advantage of him. The others can die."

Isabella smiled a bit, but she didn’t say anything.

Soon, Nadia connected, and they confirmed Davis’s safety, but with the False Dawn Harbinger returning, they quickly left.

One supreme genius, that flame-attributed genius from the Greater Realm who had a bad mouth, tried to leave at this moment.

However, the False Dawn Harbinger spotted him.

"No! Yiaaahhhhhh!"

He was within range, instantly burning into cinders as he was set ablaze by silver flames.

As for the ones hidden within the dunes, they also turned to cinders as the False Dawn Harbinger found them with its terrifying perception.

None of the geniuses survived.

The False Dawn Harbinger surveyed its surroundings, noticing the busy northern valley were blood laid. Its eyes gleamed, its intentions unknown.
