The Rising Phoenix

Chapter 1050: Chose To Protect It

Chapter 1050: Chapter 1050: Chose To Protect It

"That is exactly why countless powerful ancient sects, royal clans, and hidden organisations have ruthlessly searched for and hunted every single Beast King throughout history." Ji Yuan added.

Bai Xifeng clicked her tongue in deep annoyance, her temper flaring.

"No." Bai Xifeng’s eyes became incredibly sharp, flashing with a protective, dangerous light. "I would not let anyone find out about Baihu. He is mine."

Ji Yuan looked down at the multiple layers of standard arrays Bai Xifeng had just frantically created on the grass.

"These mortal arrays are not nearly enough to mask his presence." Ji Yuan stated.

Bai Xifeng immediately turned toward him, her eyes pleading. "Teacher Ji?"

"I will strengthen the barrier myself." Ji Yuan said simply.

A profound look of immense relief instantly appeared on Bai Xifeng’s tense face. "Really? Thank you, Teacher Ji!"

Ji Yuan silently reached into his robes and took out an ancient, golden rune plate. The exact moment Bai Xifeng saw the staggeringly intricate patterns covering its metallic surface, she immediately realised it was vastly superior to any rune she could currently dream of creating.

Ji Yuan infused his own immense spiritual energy into the ancient golden rune.

Buzz!

An enormous, blinding golden barrier instantly expanded outward from the bamboo forest, rapidly spreading across the entire perimeter of the Inscriber Division before seamlessly disappearing into the surrounding air. From the outside, nothing appeared different to the naked eye. However, anyone attempting to cross the boundary line would immediately discover that the entire division had suddenly become a completely impregnable, absolute fortress.

"No one will enter this division without my personal permission." Ji Yuan said calmly, stowing his things. "Not even the principal of this school."

Bai Xifeng secretly let out a massive sigh of relief, leaning against a bamboo stalk. Now, all she could do was wait and watch.

As time slowly passed in the clearing, the spiritual qi surrounding Baihu’s small body became increasingly dense, volatile, and violent. The very air trembled continuously as countless strands of visible world energy poured into his tiny body like a whirlpool. Yet, despite the chaotic storm raging around his meridians, Baihu remained peacefully asleep, never opening his eyes even once.

Unable to do anything physically to help him with the internal process, Bai Xifeng could only watch him anxiously, her fingers tightly clenched.

Meanwhile, the sudden appearance of the enormous, powerful barrier surrounding the Inscriber Division naturally attracted the immediate attention of everyone on campus. Students and teachers alike gradually began gathering outside the division’s entrance, murmuring in confusion.

Among the crowd was Wei Shan.

"What on earth just happened inside?" Wei Shan frowned deeply as he stared intently at the transparent, hum-vibrating barrier blocking the path.

He attempted to step forward to investigate, but his body was immediately stopped dead in its tracks by an immense, invisible force. The barrier firmly refused him entry.

Not long afterwards, Principal Qiao Wenhao also arrived on the scene, pushing through the crowd. The exact moment his senses registered the signature of the barrier, his expression immediately became incredibly solemn.

"This..." Principal Qiao Wenhao carefully examined the golden flow of the formation before letting out a soft, heavy sigh. "This is Ji Yuan’s strongest personal defensive barrier."

"He actually deployed it?" Wei Shan asked, his eyes widening in shock.

Elder Feng Yaozu stroked his long white beard thoughtfully, his eyes dark. "That means..."

"...the specific thing we think has likely happened." Qiao Wenhao finished the thought, nodding his head. "He has actively chosen to protect it."

"I wonder whether the other major ancient sects out there have sensed the aura’s awakening yet." Feng Yaozu sighed, looking up at the sky.

"They definitely have." Qiao Wenhao’s expression became increasingly serious, his brow furrowed. "If we within the school can clearly sense the heavy weight of a new Beast King’s aura... so can they. They are probably already on their way to our gates right now."

The surrounding atmosphere among the faculty immediately became incredibly tense and suffocating. After several long moments of heavy silence, Qiao Wenhao finally made a firm executive decision.

"We are placing the entire Tianlong School under absolute lockdown." Qiao Wenhao announced. He turned around to face the gathered teachers, his voice booming with authority. "Immediately order every single student to return to their respective divisions. Teacher Wang, activate the school’s grand ancestral protective formation at once. Station elite teachers at every single entrance and exit. No one enters. No one leaves. Understood?"

"Yes, Principal!" The teachers shouted in unison.

The faculty immediately dispersed in all directions to carry out the emergency orders. Within mere minutes, the entire Tianlong School descended into a state of controlled chaos. Every ongoing class was abruptly suspended. Every active mission was cancelled on the spot. Students were ordered back to their dorms and divisions immediately, and absolutely nobody was permitted to leave the school grounds under any circumstances.

Naturally, the bewildered students were bursting with intense curiosity and anxiety. Many repeatedly questioned the patrolling teachers, hoping to learn what kind of catastrophe had happened. However, none of the teachers answered a single question. Their only response was blunt and simple.

"Return to your divisions immediately and wait for further instructions."

That tight-lipped secrecy only made everyone’s curiosity grow even stronger. Some students wildly speculated that the freak freshman Bai Xifeng was undergoing a massive, world-ending breakthrough. Others immediately dismissed the ridiculous idea. If it were merely a student advancing to the next realm, why on earth would the entire grand school suddenly enter a total military lockdown? No one could figure it out.

Unfortunately... Qiao Wenhao’s grim prediction proved to be completely and utterly correct. He had no thought of stopping it.
