The Rising Phoenix

Chapter 1030: Reach The 888th Floor

Chapter 1030: Chapter 1030: Reach The 888th Floor

The wounds continued bleeding freely, and the constant, jarring movement of sprinting only made the stinging sensation worse.

Bai Xifeng kept running until she heard the notification stating that the time was up. So, she had been transferred out of the cultivation pagoda.

Even so, Bai Xifeng refused to stop. She continued running through the endless, repeating forest for what felt like hours, keeping the invisible beast at bay simply by staying mobile.

Eventually, a familiar, mechanical notification echoed through the simulated area. Her allotted ten hours of cultivation time had officially ended. The next moment, the surrounding scenery blurred into a swirl of colours, and Bai Xifeng was instantly transferred out of the Cultivation Pagoda.

When she finally emerged from the pagoda’s grand exit, covered in blood and deep wounds, everyone standing nearby in the plaza gasped in absolute shock. Her appearance was miserable. Dark blood stained her clothes, countless raw cuts covered her exposed skin, and even her face looked slightly pale from the steady blood loss.

Bai Xifeng slowly walked forward, her steps somewhat sluggish from exhaustion. At that moment, Cui Bojing, who had recently taken over the guard duty shift at the entrance, spotted her and immediately rushed over to help.

"Junior Sister Bai, are you alright?" Cui Bojing asked, his eyes wide with obvious concern.

"I am fine," Bai Xifeng replied with a calm nod.

Her voice was steady and unfazed despite her horrifying physical appearance. She stopped walking and immediately reached into her storage rune, taking out several bottles of high-grade wound-healing elixir. Without hesitation, she popped the lids and drank them down one after another. As the powerful medicinal effects rapidly spread through her meridians, the wounds visibly began healing. The bleeding gradually stopped, and the deep cuts slowly closed up, leaving faint lines that quickly faded.

After confirming that her injuries had mostly recovered, Bai Xifeng stretched her arms and moved her body around, checking her physical condition. Much better.

Meanwhile, Cui Bojing and the surrounding students continued staring at her in stunned silence. They desperately wanted to know what terrifying trial she had encountered inside the Cultivation Pagoda to end up in such a state. However, there was a strict, unspoken rule among the academy’s disciples. No one should ever ask about another person’s specific experiences inside the pagoda unless that person voluntarily chose to share them. Therefore, despite their burning curiosity, everyone kept their mouths shut.

Just then, a loud, panicked shout suddenly broke the silence of the plaza.

"What the fuck?"

The voice was so incredibly loud that it startled everyone nearby. All eyes immediately turned toward the disciple who had shouted. His friend, who was standing right beside him, looked equally confused and embarrassed by the outburst.

"What’s wrong with you?" His friend quickly asked, tugging at his sleeve.

The shocked disciple could barely speak, his jaw trembling. Instead of answering, he simply pointed upward toward the giant stone ranking board with a shaking finger.

Everyone instinctively followed the direction he was pointing. When they saw what he was looking at, they finally understood why he had reacted so dramatically. A collective, breathless gasp spread through the crowd like a wave.

Bai Xifeng’s name had officially appeared within the top twenty global rankings of the academy. That alone was already shocking enough to turn upside down everything they knew. After all, she was only a freshman who had just started.

However, that was not even the most unbelievable part of the entire display. The truly mind-blowing detail was the specific, glowing floor number listed right next to her name. According to the ranking board, Bai Xifeng had successfully entered the 888th floor. For a long, heavy moment, the entire plaza fell into a complete, utterly stunned silence. No one could quite believe what they were seeing with their own two eyes.

Bai Xifeng also followed everyone’s shocked gaze and looked up at the massive board. The exact moment she saw the ridiculous floor number displayed beside her name, she nearly freaked out as well.

"What the fuck? How?" Bai Xifeng mumbled to herself in absolute disbelief.

To be completely honest, even she had absolutely no idea how that had happened. Her mind raced, but nothing added up. Seeking answers, she immediately turned toward the guard on duty.

"Senior Brother Cui, is this Cultivation Pagoda broken or something? How did I already jump all the way to the 888th floor?" Bai Xifeng asked, genuine confusion written all over her face.

The moment the surrounding crowd heard her question, they immediately whipped their heads back to look at her. Their facial expressions became even stranger, a mix of bewilderment and faint irritation. Did she really not know?

Cui Bojing was certainly no exception. He stared at her blankly for several seconds before finally finding his voice.

"What are you talking about? The Cultivation Pagoda definitely is not broken." Cui Bojing paused for a moment, narrowing his eyes at her suspiciously. "Wait a minute. Don’t tell me you actually don’t know how you ended up on the 888th floor?"

"Well, I know how to go to the next floor." Bai Xifeng nodded simply, explaining her logic. "You just use the magical staircase that appears out of nowhere. But I only climbed that staircase once today."

The crowd instantly fell dead silent. Many students exchanged completely bewildered looks, scratching their heads. They had absolutely no idea how to even begin to respond to a statement like that. For a long moment, no one spoke a word.

Then, someone suddenly stepped forward from the back of the crowd. The person who approached was none other than Yan Linkai, the legendary name currently occupying the very top position on the ranking board.
