Starting with a Super Five-Star Hotel

Chapter 329: An Educational Accident_1

"Eh?"

But when Vice Principal Hou's daughter saw Su Xuan, she was utterly astonished.

Su Xuan was sitting in the back row of the classroom, smiling at her. Meanwhile, her father sat beside him, the very picture of obsequiousness with a fawning smile on his face.

It dawned on her. Su Xuan was the big boss of Lai'er her father had mentioned on the phone! Her lecture was for his benefit. She was also grateful her father had explained this; otherwise, she would have been doomed.

With the defiant personality she had developed abroad, she would have definitely thrown Su Xuan out of the classroom on the spot! She would have told him that a mere rideshare driver had no right to attend her lecture.

She couldn't understand why Su Xuan, the big boss of Lai'er, would drive for a rideshare service. Was it just for fun? To experience life?

A wave of regret washed over her, and she wished she could slap herself. If only she hadn't been so... picky during the ride with Su Xuan. Befriending him would have guaranteed a brilliant future, wouldn't it?

But the mistake was made, and she had already offended him. Now, she felt terribly uneasy and restless. If she couldn't make up for it, her job as a teacher, and her father's position as vice principal, would be ruined.

And the reason she was late? It was because she had been arrested for causing a public disturbance on the street. She was only released after writing a statement of assurance and paying a fine.

"AHEM!"

Seeing his daughter standing on the podium in a daze, Vice Principal Hou quickly coughed to get her attention. He was utterly unaware of the emotional rollercoaster she had just been on and simply assumed she was nervous.

"Oh, right!" Lisa, Vice Principal Hou's daughter, quickly steadied her nerves and began to speak.

Vice Principal Hou picked up his teacup, took a proud sip, and settled in to watch his daughter's performance. He was certain she would describe life abroad so brilliantly that every student in the room would yearn to go.

"Actually, there's nothing good about living abroad!" she began. "I absolutely despised life there and missed our wonderful home, which is why I came back!"

His daughter's first sentence almost made Vice Principal Hou spit out his tea. He was baffled. What was going on? Was she setting up a contrast, planning to praise it after first criticizing it?

Principal Xu was also stunned. This wasn't right at all! All the students in this class were preparing for their TOEFL exams because they wanted to go abroad. Her words were crushing their motivation!

"You might not know this, but those so-called developed countries aren't as great as they seem. They're like polished apples, rotten to the core! Their people live in misery and are full of complaints! Do you know what their best-selling product is? Bulletproof vests! Walking down the street, your chance of getting shot is higher than catching a cold!

"I experienced it myself. A bullet from who knows where nearly hit me. Thankfully, I like to work out, so I managed to dive out of the way just in time!"

Lisa went on and on, leaving her audience dumbfounded. Only Su Xuan knew why she was saying all this. This girl is pretty sharp! But this is definitely going to be a problem.

"Let me tell you something else!" Lisa continued, not minding the audience's expressions.

"The people over there have exceptionally low morals! They spit on the ground, love to swear, steal toilet paper from public restrooms, and are always trying to take petty advantages!

"Their romantic relationships are also a complete mess. People just get together randomly. A son's wife can have an affair with her father-in-law, and no one even knows who the father of the baby is!

"Also, their taxis are disgusting. The air inside stinks, and the seats are covered in some sticky gunk. You absolutely have to wipe them with a disinfectant wipe before you can sit down! It's nothing like our cars here in China, which are as clean as brand new. You don't need any wipes because the air inside is sweet!

"I took a rideshare today... ah, that car! It was the most beautiful, most welcoming car I have ever been in. The driver was incredibly handsome and so well-spoken. I liked him the moment I saw him! I... I was so happy after I got out that I actually started dancing in front of his car!"

Hearing this, Principal Xu couldn't hold back any longer. He shot Vice Principal Hou an extremely displeased look. This was a complete teaching disaster!

Vice Principal Hou couldn't take it anymore either. He strode onto the stage, ushered his daughter off, and then wracked his brain. He tried to salvage the situation by speaking about the wonders of foreign countries, encouraging everyone to focus on their TOEFL prep for a chance to study abroad. He barely managed to clean up his daughter's mess.

When the lecture was over, Su Xuan walked out of the classroom. Vice Principal Hou quickly pulled his daughter along and rushed over to apologize. "Boss, I'm so sorry! My daughter... she's not thinking straight. We've made a fool of ourselves. I'll be sure to discipline her when we get home!"

"You've taught her well," Su Xuan said ambiguously.

This comment landed with a completely different meaning in the vice principal's ears. He thought Su Xuan was blaming him as well and his face went pale with fear. At that moment, he wished he could stuff his daughter back into the womb and start over.

"Dad, may I have a word with the boss alone?" Lisa asked her father. She then took the initiative to lead Su Xuan into a nearby empty break room and closed the door.

THUD!

Inside the break room, before Su Xuan could say a word, Lisa suddenly dropped to her knees in front of him.

"Boss, I know I've made a huge mistake," Lisa said, her voice trembling with fear. "If you're going to blame someone, please, just blame me. Don't blame my father! He's the pillar of our family; everyone depends on him. If he loses his job, our family is finished. I also have a younger brother studying abroad, and he'd have to drop out and come home..."

"Your name is Lisa, right?" Su Xuan asked, looking down at the kneeling woman.

"Please, just call me Xiao Hou," she said quickly, despite her fondness for her English name.

"To be honest, I found your speech quite interesting," Su Xuan said lightly. "But you must have been exaggerating, right?"

"I wasn't exaggerating!" she insisted earnestly. "It's truly chaotic over there, not nearly as good as it is here in China. I..."

"I meant the part about me," Su Xuan interrupted. "Am I really that good? Handsome and a smooth talker? The air in the car is sweet?"

"Yes!" she said decisively.

Su Xuan chuckled. "Heh. Stand up. I won't make things difficult for you or your father. However, if you want to keep working here, I need you to express your views truthfully and objectively. Let people make up their own minds. As for what happened in the car, I'm not one to hold a grudge."

It's a shame I didn't get a better look at your little dance on the street.

"Understood, understood!" Lisa nodded eagerly. As she started to get up, she noticed a piece of lint on Su Xuan's clothes and attentively reached out to pluck it off.

Suddenly, Su Xuan glanced up at the break room door and noticed an eye peering through the crack...
