Jax stayed the entire night in the palace guest quarters.
The bed was soft. The room was luxurious. And he was bored out of his fucking mind.
Knock knock.
The door opened. Adelina stepped inside, still wearing her evening gown.
Jax sat up immediately. 'Oh shit. She came.'
His mind raced. 'She's made her decision. She's here for sex—'
"Are you comfortable?" Adelina asked. "Do you need anything? Extra blankets? Food?"
Jax blinked. "I... what?"
"I just wanted to make sure you're settled in properly." She smiled warmly. "You're our guest, after all."
'Oh. OH. She's just... checking on me.'
"I'm fine," Jax said, his voice flat.
"Good. Sleep well." She turned to leave.
And that was it.
Jax flopped back onto the bed, staring at the ceiling.
'What the hell was I thinking? Of course she wasn't here for that.'
He laughed bitterly. 'Get your head out of your ass, Jax.'
But even as he thought it, his mind conjured images. Adelina in his bed. Her body beneath his. Her moans filling the room.
'Fuck.'
He rubbed his face. 'What the hell have I become? Is this because of the lustful system? Or am I just having too much fun being a pervert in this world?'
He didn't have an answer.
[Next morning]
"Mother, I can't go with him!"
Seris paced back and forth, her arms crossed. "Send guards! Send servants! Hell, send the stable boy! Anyone but me!"
Adelina sat on the edge of the bed, calm as ever. "Seris, please understand. He's a guest. More than that, he saved my life. You can't imagine how difficult it would have been if he wasn't there."
"So let the guards babysit him!"
"He's not a child." Adelina's voice softened. "Plus... I don't know why, but I feel for that boy. Like he is actually kind but needs to see the world from a different perspective."
She paused, then added with a sly smile, "I would show him around myself, but it would be complicated for a queen to roam the streets. You, on the other hand, are a master at disguising and sneaking out. Should I bring up your castle escapes?"
Seris's face flushed. "Fine! Fine, Mother, don't start! But let me be very clear—I'm not going to act like some kind, welcoming host. And I'm not inviting him. You can do that."
"Deal." Adelina stood, placing a hand on her daughter's shoulder. "One more thing. That boy is chaos incarnate. Keep him close. Watch him carefully. Otherwise, he'll die here before even receiving his reward."
Seris groaned. "You're seriously leaving me with a ticking bomb?"
[Jax's Room - Morning]
Jax stood in front of the mirror, adjusting the fantasy-world clothes the maids had provided.
A dark leather tunic with silver clasps. Fitted pants. Boots that actually looked badass.
'Not bad. I look like a video game protagonist.'
A maid knocked and entered. "Sir, Her Majesty has arranged for you to tour the capital today. Princess Seris will serve as your guide."
Jax grinned. 'The hot daughter? Hell yes.'
"Tell her I'll be ready in five."
The maid bowed and left.
Jax stretched, cracking his knuckles. 'Time to study this new world. And maybe study the princess while I'm at it.'
-- -- --
Jax waited outside the palace gates, hands in his pockets.
Then she appeared.
Seris wore a flowing dress—deep emerald green that matched her eyes. It hugged her curves perfectly, the neckline just low enough to make his imagination run wild. Her blue hair cascaded over her shoulders. And she wore a delicate mask covering the upper half of her face.
Jax's cock stirred instantly.
'Fuck. She's even hotter in civilian clothes.'
A bead of precum leaked.
'Down, boy. Not the time.'
Seris approached, her expression cold behind the mask. "Where do you want to go first?"
Jax smirked. "Wherever you take me. Even if it's hell."
Her eye twitched staring at him in disgust and cringe. "Follow me. And try not to embarrass yourself."
The capital was alive.
Crowds rushed through cobblestone streets. Shops overflowed with customers. Food stalls filled the air with the smell of roasted meats and sweet pastries.
Jax took it all in. Game shops. Jewelry stores. Weapon vendors. Artifact dealers. Clothing boutiques.
'This place is insane. It's like a fantasy RPG came to life.'
An old woman called out from a jewelry stall. "Young man! Come here!"
Jax turned, confused.
She held up a delicate silver necklace with a green gemstone. "This would look beautiful on your girlfriend." She gestured toward Seris.
Jax didn't miss a beat.
He took the necklace, turning to Seris with a warm smile. "Baby, it matches your green eyes perfectly. What do you say? Do you like it?"
Seris's hand moved to her knife.
She unsheathed it halfway, then pressed the blunt back of the blade into Jax's stomach. Hard.
"Move," she hissed.
Jax let himself be pushed forward, but he smoothly returned the necklace to the old woman without even looking.
"Sorry, ma'am. My girlfriend's a little shy about these things." He smiled. "I'll come back for it later. Please don't sell it."
The old woman laughed. "Young love!"
Once they were out of earshot, Jax grinned. "What? I was just acting to avoid suspicion. You know, for you."
"Do it one more time," Seris said coldly, "and I swear your eyes will be the next jewelry she's selling."
Jax leaned in, voice playful. "I hope that beautiful jewelry hangs on your beautiful chest."
Seris swung.
But Jax vanished into the crowd.
She sighed. 'At least I can breathe without tension now.'
Then her mother's voice echoed in her mind: "Keep an eye on him. He's chaotic."
Seris groaned. "Damn it."
She found him minutes later.
He was standing near a game stall, watching a small girl cry. Her father stood beside her, looking defeated.
The game owner sat smugly behind a counter. Three small spears lay on the table. A dummy stood far in the distance.
"What's going on?" Seris asked.
The father sighed. "The prize is that stuffed creature. My daughter wanted it. I tried three times. Couldn't hit the target."
The girl sobbed. "I wanted the panda..."
Jax stepped forward. "Let me try."
Everyone stared.
The owner grinned. "Ten bronze coins."
Jax's confident aura shattered. "I... don't have any."
He turned to Seris, making the most pathetic pleading face she'd ever seen.
She groaned and tossed the coins to the owner. "Fine."
The owner explained the rules. "Three spears. Hit the dummy once. Win the prize."
Jax picked up the first spear. Balanced it on two fingers.
For over two minutes, he just stared.
Then he frowned. "The weight distribution is off."
The owner blinked. "What?"
"The tip is too heavy. If someone aims normally, it'll drop before reaching the target." Jax looked at the owner. "So that's how you're playing dirty."
The crowd murmured.
Seris raised an eyebrow. 'Interesting.'
Jax muttered to himself, analyzing the other two spears. "If I aim straight and use all my strength, it still won't be enough to compensate for the weight. Which means..."
He calculated. Velocity. Trajectory. Angle.
Then he threw the first spear.
It hit the ground several meters before the dummy.
Seris smirked. 'All that time for this?'
The girl's hope flickered out.
But Jax grinned. 'Now I know the exact parameters.'
He threw the second spear.
THUNK.
It struck the dummy's head dead center.
Seris's smirk vanished. Her jaw dropped.
Jax threw the third.
THUNK.
It hit the exact same spot, knocking the second spear out.
The crowd erupted in cheers.
The owner handed over the stuffed panda with a forced smile.
Jax took it and walked to the girl. He knelt down, patting her hair.
Then he looked at her father. Then back at her.
"That's how you win, kid." He smiled. "I'd suggest changing your loser father."
The father's face turned red. "What did you just—"
Jax was already walking back to Seris.
He shoved the stuffed panda into her arms. "Hold this."
Seris recoiled. "I don't want your dirty prize!"
"Oh, hello, Princess." Jax's grin was wicked. "This isn't for you. You're my guide, so you carry it. And I don't share my trophies with anyone."
He strutted ahead, head held high.
Seris stared at the panda in her hands. Then at Jax's back.
'I learned a life lesson today. The saying "Mother is always right" is wrong.'
Adelina's words echoed: "That boy is kind."
Seris laughed bitterly. "This bastard tricked her."
Jax's eyes landed on an alleyway.
Six women stood at the entrance, their dresses revealing, their smiles inviting.
A brothel.
Jax's feet moved on their own.
Seris grabbed his arm. "Where are you going?"
"Those women need help," Jax said earnestly. "And as a gentleman, I need to help them."
"Help them?" Seris's voice dripped with sarcasm. "With what? Your dick?"
"Precisely."
Seris smiled. "Go ahead. I'll be waiting."
Jax paused, suspicious. But his lust overrode his logic.
He walked into the alley.
Seris waited. One minute passed.
Jax returned.
Empty-handed. Defeated.
"I need money," he said flatly.
Seris's smile widened. "Money? But I'm just a guard, remember? Your words."
Jax hissed. "Fuck."
He paced. 'How do I get money? I could use Soul Thief, but Seris is watching like a hawk.'
He started challenging random passersby. "You! Duel me! Winner takes ten silver!"
They ignored him.
He drew his sword and began performing flashy moves. "Watch this! I'm a master swordsman!"
No one cared.
Seris watched, tears streaming down her face from laughing so hard.
'He's a perverted clown.'
