The Rise of Quetzalcoatl

Chapter 193: Strange Warriors

Parts of it were torn, and the fishnets were practically unusable now.

"But, you still looked sexy," I whispered into Lucy's ear as we shifted into the slowly filling bathtub, which wrapped us in warm water.

Lucy snuggled into my embrace, and after making out for about half a minute, we actually began to wash each other.

Lucy's large smile made me smile, so I was content and happy with today.

A few days had passed, and we were walking in the streets of Norway, layered with only a few layers of clothes as we had the special full-body suit that warmed us up.

Everybody was kind of on the edge as they really didn't want to encounter Mom now since she was basically the enemy of our races.

Who knows how she would react after finding out all of us were monsters, and powerful monsters at that.

"Should we discuss our plans somewhere?" Ethel suggested while hugging Athena tightly; the two had finally reunited.

Everybody just shrugged in agreement, so we stopped at a fancy restaurant and booked a private room.

It had a few security cameras, but we quickly shut them down via Charna, who could just wrap them in pitch-black shadows.

As we all sat at the circular brown table, the tense feeling from before continued to persist.

"*sigh*... If we encounter her, we'll deal with it when the problem arises. But, that doesn't mean to let your guard down," I said, and Athena looked confused, so Ethel informed her of the basic information.

"Why is she here?" Nuala asked Ethel while she gestured at the clueless Athena.

"C-Cause I didn't want her to be lonely," Ethel muttered nervously, and Athena just gave her a warm smile before slowly getting out of the booth and waving us goodbye.

Once the door had shut, Ethel sulked a bit, but Astra quickly shut up her complaints as Ethel wasn't the only one feeling lonely.

"I've been away from my girlfriend for so long, so don't be selfish. It goes the same with the other girls… and at least you get to see her when you come home," Astra clicked her tongue, upping the pressure by times a thousand.

"Alright, enough arguing. We'll do what we usually do, so scout the place, lurk on some big informants, ask for any information, use bribes or whatever, then we'll kill the monster without hesitation… Any complaints?" I asked the group, and nobody refuted, so everything had been set in stone.

A few days later and we finally had a clue as to where the monster could be, and it was said to be at the top of a large mountain.

It made me feel a bit uneasy after hearing this information, but as it was basically our mission, we followed this one clue.

Eventually, we reached a snowy mountain that was filled to the brim with trees, but what was strange was the bloodlust grazing the back of our necks.

We would have normally been jumping in joy, but the bloodlust felt exactly like humans' bloodlust, so we stood our ground and summoned our respective weapons.

[The Ancient Beings Body resonates with an item around here]

"Huh?" I muttered, but before I could gawk at the panel, a few men dressed in white, furry cloaks jumped off the massive tree branches and landed right before us.

Their stature was extremely tall, and they wielded large battle axes as their choice of weapons.

"Hey, spider, what was the monster here again?" Ethel asks her pet, who was currently sitting atop their head.

"It should be a yeti… but these are just humans," She replied, and I let out a long sigh before stomping on the ground.

But to my surprise, the ice stopped at the feet of the men, and it was sent flying back at me at an incredible and dangerous speed.

FWOOSH

It looked like it was about to hit me, but I stopped it right before it froze me over by blasting it with green flames and also burning one of the men behind the ice into ash.

His ash blew away with the calming wind, and the other men didn't really react as they all charged toward us, letting out a blood-curdling battle cry.

"AHHHHHHH!" They all shouted, and we took our specific stances before clashing with a few, spreading them amongst ourselves.

Surprisingly, they were very strong, but this place was practically my domain, so as a crown of ice sat atop my head, I waved my hands upwards.

A draft of icy wind exploded upwards, and I began to form a shell above the battlefield, though this wouldn't have been possible without Mia.

You could say she wasn't much of a fighter anymore, but more of support due to her illusions, but when she needs to, she can fight with maximum efficiency.

"Alright, let's end this quickly," I muttered, and as I sat down on the ground, I felt out all the ice I had created and essentially spread my influence through it.

I felt the presence of everything inside the dome, and after blotting out the girls who were connected to me via the hivemind, I snapped my fingers.

Hundreds of icy spears erupted from the dome and were aimed straight at the men, but for some reason, the spears stopped right before they hit them.

They didn't even look like they did something as they continued to fight hard and tireless, slightly pushing us back.

After realizing that the men had more control over the ice than I, I immediately shattered the dome and let Clio create her own domain.

'Wait, I've been wanting to try something out,' Charna interrupted our thoughts, causing a few blows to land on us, but in the end, we just shrugged our shoulders before jumping up.

We felt the intent of Charna and let her spread a domain of almost water-like shadows that pulled the men into a bog-like floor.

The darkness grasped at their ankles and pulled them down even farther the more they tried to pitifully struggle.

I wanted to laugh a bit, but I knew we had to finish these men off, so I charged forward, summoned Frostbite, and… stopped?

"Wait! WE SURRENDER!" One of the men shouted while continuously glancing at me and my sword that I held high.

"Sorry, dude, but we don't take any prisoners," Mia muttered before slicing the head off her own victim.

"Wait! You have Frostbite! PLEASE SPARE US!" He continued to shout, and just as the other girl were about to kill their victims, I stopped them with a firm blast of ice.

This was also to intimidate the men as they were sinking into the shadow like a bog that was trying to drown them.

"How do you know about this?" I asked and signaled for Charna to stop creating massive blades of shadows that slowly scratched their necks.

These blades stemmed from the bog-like trees, but they were much crueler than any living thing around us.

The black smoke they emitted was so eery and creepy that it sent an uncountable amount of shivers down my spine.

"W-We need that thing. It's a key to open a dungeon that has been locked away," The man replies while slowly sinking ever farther, so I gestured to Charna once again.

Her sadistic smile was wiped off her face, and she sighed deeply before snapping her fingers.

The bog disappeared, but the men were stuck in the ground, constricted, but at least they had a much less chance of dying now.

"Do you serve anybody?" I asked.

"Y-Yes, we serve the beast of the mountain," He replied while shivering.

Beast of the mountain? Well, that sounds like the thing we're going after.

"Can you lead us to your Master? I need to talk to him about something?" I asked, and they immediately agreed.

But, just in case they didn't make any sketchy moves, Charna kept her shadows wrapped around their necks so that even if they tried to attack us, she would snap their necks instantly.

'This was much easier than I thought. I thought this was going to take a couple of months, but we only found the monster in a few days… nice,' Aria muttered through the hivemind, but I shut her up quickly.

'Wait, don't kill the yeti yet. I still need to ask him about this sword and the dungeon, which I'm very intrigued about,'

'Intrigued? You barely take a liking to something. How do you know you aren't just going to kill it and take all the XP?' Clio complained.

'You can have the XP for all I care because all I want are answers,'

It seems I'm going to be finding out more about this system than I initially thought… Or maybe an interference in the system? Who knows.
