Chapter 109: Bloody Night

Raze recalled back when he read the story, there was a certain time during the abomination arc where the abominations seemingly attacked with a sense of unity, tearing down their towns in a wild coordination.

He never really put thought to it, but now that he heard what they had to say, he finally understood what it was, the cult had definitely planned out what had happened.

"We will take dem down," Raze said, standing up, a certain conviction on his face.

"You seem eager to do that, why?" Fey asked.

"Because what they are doing here will affect Ribest, and in general shatter what I am building. Beyond that, the lives that we can save through doing this alone are worth it," Raze said.

"Never took you to be the hero type," Fey stated.

"I'm not, but what's the point in allowing bad to happen when you could have easily stopped it? It's not about caring for humanity or being a hero, it's simply the fact that someone thinks they can take whoever's life they want, making them gods. They don't deserve such power," Raze said and then leaped over the rock. He skidded down the other side, drawing the attention of the two men and the abominations which all stopped to look at him.

"Also, Fey, all these abominations are people. They are in a miserable state now, wishing for death, because someone wanted to play God. Not doing anything is making them gods, what they believe," Raze added.

"Who the hell are you?" one of the men yelled out.

"Doesn't matter who he is, take him out now," the second said.

The first man pulled out a sword from his cloak. "Sorry for you, kid, had you been anywhere else tonight, you would love to go home," he said and then lunged forward. He was pretty fast, but that was all he had.

Raze gripped the bat, tight and relaxed. He waited as the man swung the blade. He stepped backwards, dodged the attack, then stepped in, swinging the bat downward with full force. The bat slammed into the back of his head, sending the man face down into the ground.

Kang!

The sound echoed in the forest, shocking the second man. He looked at Raze with shock.

"You members of the cult are a real pain in the ass, running around, causing havoc. You piss me off," Raze said before sending another swing right into the face of the man again, shattering his nose and causing more pain. The man groaned on the ground and rolled around.

The second man had no choice. He pointed at Raze. "Kill him!" he bellowed, and instantly all the abominations turned to look at him. They all rushed.

Raze took a deep breath. "I'm sorry, all of you deserve a better life," he said in apology and then drew one leg back, grabbing his sword in a proper stance, and when they were within range, he swung, releasing a powerful arc that slammed into a host of the abominations, rupturing their bodies and throwing around black liquid as it spilled from them. He managed to kill one instantly and knock back most of them.

The rest came at him, so he kicked the ground, leaping high into the air. He looked down and pointed his hands. "Flame Across," he called out, and more than twenty formed, falling like rain, penetrating through the abominations.

"A mage? Oh shit, this is bad," the cult member said. He looked at his fellow cultist, thinking of saving him, but there was no way, so he backed away and started running. He didn't want to have a clash with a mage; he was just a normal floor member with no significant power. The only power he had was the permission to control some of the abominations, and even that was borrowed power.

He ran into the forest, but before he could get far, Fey appeared, grabbing him by the neck and slamming him backwards right into the ground.

"Escaping after what you did? That's cowardly," Fey said and then lifted him up with one hand. "All those people wanted a normal life, to see their children, to be happy.

"Yet you aligned yourself with the demon beasts and turned them into abominations, keeping them in perpetual horror. Running away was never an option for you," Fey said, looking right into the eyes of the man. He shivered without control, unable to speak or do anything. It was like he was staring death right in the eye.

Raze landed on the ground, watching the abominations struggle after they took attacks from the arrows.

"I should make this quick, they have suffered enough," he said before getting into his stance again. He shut his eyes and allowed his Qi rush through his body, gripping the bat hard. His eyes shot open and he instantly teleported, moving toward the first abomination.

As he appeared, he swung down with full force, obliterating the head of the abomination and half its body, shattering the core. He teleported again.

Moving from point to point extremely fast, his bat slammed from head to head and killed the abominations one after the other, and in a few seconds he was done. He landed on the ground in a superhero pose, his bat placed on the ground like a walking stick.

"I'm sorry," he said before getting up. The bodies of the abominations littered the floor. He looked up and saw Fey coming with the second man, pulling him behind. He tossed the man over to Raze.

The man looked at Raze's face. He tried to speak no longer to Fey, but then Raze walked to the first man while the second watched and swung his bat down, shattering the head of the man and killing him instantly without a second of doubt. The blood splattered in all directions. The second man watched in horror. Raze turned to look at him, walking back to him with a bloody bat. He didn't say a word at all.

The man leapt to his knees, placed his head on the ground. "Please don't, whatever you want I'll give to you, please." Raze looked at him. He placed the bat on his back. The man shivered when he felt the bat, almost pissing himself.
