Legendary Summoner's Transmigration: I Can Capture Anything.

Chapter 131: Unexpected Event

The sound of Jaden's sigh echoed within the silent training centre.

He dismissed his magic spell, his grimoire disappeared right after, and he looked at Maria and Zaria with a calm look.

'I have done it now.'

"How did you do that?" Maria questioned, displaying the calm expected from the daughter of War Marquise and a Master Ranked arcane knight.

He shrugged at her question and answered, "I don't know, I can just do it."

She shook her head and added, "But you have affinity with all of the eight elementals, which no one has ever had, so there must be a reason behind you having it..."

He nodded at her words. It made sense, but it was just an assumption.

An assumption made out of fear for the unknown.

Humans fear what they can't understand.

That's why the first thing they do is look for a reason for what must have caused that outcome.

That is also one of the main reasons why Jaden didn't want to let others find out about his abnormalities.

But in this world, where abnormalities were as common as corruption in his previous world, he could gain more by letting others know of his powers than by hiding them.

"Do you know what determines what affinities one should have?" He asked and stepped towards her.

Maria once again shook her head and spoke, "We are still searching for the reason behind affinities."

"Do you know why a few of us have affinity to six elementals?" He asked as he neared her.

Maria turned silent at his question as she understood what he was trying to say.

She heaved a sigh and spoke, "Jaden, it's not easy to believe something like this...."

He reached her and said, "Do you not believe it even after seeing it with your own eyes?"

He turned his head towards Zaria, who had been silent until now.

Their eyes met, and she spoke, "It is hard to believe, yes. But I have no other choice than to believe it... not after seeing it with my very own eyes."

"So, do you think this content is good enough to meet Him?"

A wry smile appeared on Zaria's face, she shrugged her hands and answered, "I don't really know, it's up to Him... I do think that it's quite interesting, but I don't know if it's interesting enough for Him."

Jaden nodded at her reply, turned his head towards Maria and muttered softly, "I need your help."

Maria stared into his eyes for a moment and turned around. She began to walk towards her office and responded, "I always knew you were different but I didn't think you'd be this different. We should talk in my office."

He nodded, turned towards Zaria and added, "I hope he finds me interesting enough... he is the only person that can help me get my memories back, after all."

Zaria frowned at his words, and her lips parted to question, but he was already following Maria to her office.

She shook her head and left the training centre.

"To think I'd see this same office twice in a single day," he muttered as he stepped inside Maria's office.

Maria sat in her chair and rubbed her eyelids while mumbling, "eight affinity... monster..."

He heard her faint mumbles and didn't like her comparing him to those wretched nightmares and profane star beasts, but he didn't show it on his face; instead, he waited for her to clear her mind.

A few minutes passed while he watched her clear her mind, and she spoke with a serious look, "You said you need my help... what do you truly need from me?"

"I want to meet the marquise," Jaden announced.

She blinked a few times and rubbed her face before responding, "I don't know if that's possible."

Jaden frowned and asked in a low voice, "Am I not worthy enough to meet her?"

She chuckled while waving her hands in refusal and replied, "No, no. That's not the issue; instead, it's nearly impossible for her to even leave the dream realm because of something which I can't tell you even if I want to."

A confused look appeared on his face, but seeing the clear refusal to talk about it any further in her eyes, he stopped himself from asking about it.

"I see..." he mumbled and slightly lowered his head enough not to see Maria, and frowned in thought.

'What should I do now? I need to have the backing of someone as important as War Marquise if I want to reveal all of my true capabilities without getting in any kind of trouble.'

He finished that thought and began to think of any person with as much influence as the War Marquise, so he could secure their backing.

He also thought of the other dukes but he didn't have any connection to them except one... the Calm Illusion Sword — the Moon Duke. However, he didn't want to ask Selina for it because it would make him feel as if he was using her feelings for him as a tool to get the backing of the Moon Duke.

Maria watched his frown deepen with each passing moment and asked, "Why do you want to meet the Marquise?"

He lifted his head and thought, 'Should I tell her?'

A few moments passed, he pondered over that thought and finally came to a reasonable decision, 'Fuck it.'

He looked into her eyes and spoke, "I wish to obtain her support to properly utilise my capabilities for the good of humanity while also asking for aid in some of my endeavours."

Maria raised an eyebrow, her lips parted to answer, but before she could do it.

Beep... Beep-Beep... Beep...

Both of their academy badges began to beep and glow red.

Jaden furrowed his eyebrow and questioned, "Why are they acting like this?"

"A gate..." Maria mumbled, but he didn't quite hear her.

"What?"

She jumped out of her chair, stepped out of her office and shouted, "A gate is about to appear in the academy!"
