Tyler continued to watch the match as it progressed, using it as a learning experience, trying to predict the moves of the players and analyzing the details of the game. In the end, he realized that he had a lot more work to do than he initially thought he did.
Almost two hours later, the match finally came to an end. Tyler felt sore and tired everywhere as he walked over to the special entrance he came through. Asides from learning from the game, he had also screamed quite a lot while cheering the team on to a four nil victory.
As soon as he got out of the stadium, he turned around and took in the sight again, watching as the supporters happily chatted with each other, still euphoric from their win. The sight made him smile. If he played well enough, he could be the reason why so many people had smiles on their faces.
A few minutes later, he managed to drag himself away from the stadium and started walking leisurely down the street. He had been in Monaco for little over a week and managed to become a little familiar with some of the routes. One of which was to a very familiar restaurant.
Tyler smiled as soon as he entered the restaurant. At first he was always going there hoping to catch a glimpse of his crush, but over time he had come to fall in love with the food that was being served there. And again, luck never seemed to be on his side so he wasn't even hoping to catch Jasmine.
It seemed like it was to be a good day for him however, because as soon as he sat down on his table, he spotted her walking towards the entrance. And by the looks of it... her shift had finished.
"Jasmine!" Tyler called out just as she was about to step out of the door. Jasmine turned around and after scanning the room for a bit, she caught Tyler waving her over. A smile appeared on her face and she started walking over.
"Hello". She said as she sat down opposite him.
"Are you in hurry?" Tyler asked. He knew that he couldn't ask her to come sit with him just because she was done with her shift. She might have other things that she needed to attend to.
"Not really" Jasmine said. "I was just about to head home but I can stay for a while". She paused for a second. "If you want".
Tyler nodded his head slightly, trying his best not to seem too eager. "I'd like that. I haven't seen you around for a bit".
Jasmine shrugged. "Bad timing, I guess".
"Are you good?" Tyler asked. He could see from the expression on her face that she seemed annoyed about something. If she was, he wouldn't have asked her to stay back. He had no intention of becoming an unsuspecting victim.
Jasmine sighed and have a bitter smile. "Sorry, I'm just a little pissed, I missed the Monaco game earlier and they ended up winning four nil".
Tyler leaned back in his chair, and raised the glass of water in front of him to his lips, trying not to hide the smile on his face. "You're a Monaco fan?"
"Yeah". Jasmine said, while starting to grin. "I've been going to games with my dad since I was a little. We don't get to go to every match anymore, but I still try to follow the team whenever I want".
Tyler smiled. "That's funny. We've talked quite a lot online, I never knew you'd be into football".
"My dad's greatest handiwork". She said .
"I think there's another game this weekend. Will you be working then?"
"Well, my mum owns the restaurant", Jasmine replied with a small smile on her face. "So I don't really have fixed shifts. I just cover when I'm needed, or I'm in need of cash. If I want a weekend free, then I can make it happen".
Tyler smiled after she finished talking. "That's perfect then. How about I take you to the game next weekend? We could go together".
Jasmine's eyes lit up. "Really?"
Tyler chuckled. Who'd knew the pretty girl he was so nervous about talking to just a few weeks earlier would be behaving like a kid because of the prospect of going to a football match during the weekend.
"Yeah". Tyler said. "It's a date".
Jasmine smiled back. "Alright then. It's a date".
Tyler shrugged, then asked her what she wanted to order, taking the conversation to a whole new area. Even though he was acting calm, he was inwardly pumping his fists.
A few times, as he talked with Jasmine, he looked outside, towards the sky and raised a fist to the big guy up there. He really did him one good today.
After about an hour, the pair separated. Jasmine said that she needed to get home early to help her mom out with preparing dinner, while Tyler... well Tyler would've been happy to remain there and continue talking with her but he just had to cave in and allow her leave.
It wouldn't be very good if he sabotaged himself by acting overly clingy.
He left the restaurant with a huge smile on his face, holding two takeaway packs inside a nylon bag. Despite what happened, he hadn't forget to get some food for Tony and Enzo. He knew they would curse him to death if they knew that he came there without bringing anything back for them.
A couple of hours later, he found himself on his bed, preparing to go to sleep. He planned on visiting the Monaco performance center early the next morning.
Although the next day would be a recovery day, and there wouldn't be too much training, he planned on doing some personal work on himself. He still planned on making the matchday squad before the end of the next three weeks and wouldn't mind if it happened sooner rather than later.
Even though he had a date with Jasmine that weekend, he wouldn't mind having to cancel due to the fact that he would be playing in the match.
