Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle

Chapter 866: The Red Night ( 6 )

It was not advisable to just join the fight on the battlefield. Arial didn't encourage it as he wanted to maximize the usage of Warden Units, Turrets, Traps, and others.

It was also to avoid casualties among the precious survivors.

However, during the first wave, the damage to Warden Units was a bit too unacceptable. The Red Night event would last the whole day, and they couldn't let the Warden Units take too much damage.

Furthermore, with Arial and Cloud's assistance, the Turrets' accuracy was almost 100% at this point.

Because of that, sending people on the ground was now considered less dangerous than before. Though Arial wasn't ordering them to go on the ground to join, he wasn't stopping anyone who was confident enough to face the swarm of Zombies.

Bam!

Bon's metal legs slam into the ground with a heavy thud. The ground shook slightly under his weight.

Then, he fired another volley from his cannon arm, cutting through the corrupted ranks of Zombies!

"You want to spit sludge? Let's see if you can spit after this!"

He slammed his left fist into the ground, activating his built-in seismic pulse.

The shockwave rippled outward, knocking several of the advancing zombies off their feet.

Arial noticed this as well, and soon, the turrets capitalized on this opportunity instantly!

They started shredding the fallen ones before they could rise!

"Good…"

Bon paused for a bit as he started overheating after that move…

Nonetheless, he wasn't worried as he wasn't alone in this battle….

At this time, he could feel the faint ache of the human tissue still left inside him. However, he didn't mind it at all. It was thanks to this pain that Bon could do this.

It was a reminder that he was still a human, and he liked this!

Although he had an option to turn off his pain receptors, he didn't want that at all.

While cooling down, he lifted his head toward the sky, where crimson lightning briefly flashed against the black clouds.

The red wave hadn't stopped, and thankfully, there weren't any more Flying Zombies at the moment.

Soon, Arial's voice echoed through the comms again.

"Bon, hold the line. Reinforcements are deploying in your location.

"Don't worry, Commander. I ain't planning to die again. I have ways to survive even if they're late for 30 minutes."

With that, Bon charged forward into the chaos…

In the meantime, the Blood Talon Shelter had also started their war against the Red Night's Zombies.

The shelter was built on the mountainside. To be exact, it was built at the back of the towering range and the shelter had only one access point, a narrow valley entrance fortified with bunkers, automated turrets, barricades, and traps.

This was their choke point.

This was where they would hold.

Tundra stood atop a barricade made of steel plating.

His face was partially covered by a respirator mask as it had the effect of increasing his agility and accuracy…

Then, there were also dozens of Warden Units lined the valley front, their heavy cannons locked forward. Behind them, squads of Blood Talon survivors worked tirelessly, throwing grenades, loading artillery shells, and maintaining the flamethrower turrets.

Tundra smiled, seeing how powerful his bombs were.

He cracked his neck and flexed his gloved hand, ready to throw another bomb…

It must be remembered that he had a total of five bombs he could create.

[ Explosive Fire Bomb: A strong explosive bomb that detonates with a fiery blast, incinerating enemies within a medium radius. Leaves behind burning ground for several seconds.

Cost: 5 Spirit Points ]

[ Silenced Concussive Bomb: Emits a powerful shockwave without producing a loud explosion. Stuns enemies, disorients senses, and knocks back targets.

Cost: 10 Spirit Points ]

[ Graviton Imploder: Generates a sudden gravitational pull that draws nearby enemies inward before collapsing with a heavy implosion.

Cost: 50 Spirit Points ]

[ Cryo-Stasis Charge: Releases a freezing burst that slows movement and reaction times. Living target caught at the center may be temporarily frozen solid.

Cost: 20 Spirit Points ]

[ Corrosive Venom Bomb: Detonates into a mist of corrosive toxins that eat through armor, flesh, and mutated tissues. Lingers briefly as a hazard zone.

Cost: 20 Spirit Points ]

With Shane's Spirit Stones and his own bomb-making ability, he was able to prepare more than four thousand bombs for the Blood Talon Clan.

This was also the reason why Shane didn't send a lot of support to this shelter.

He was fully aware of Tundra's incredible strength.

"Frontline… status?" Tundra asked.

"Holding steady!" someone shouted from behind the barricades. "Turrets are green! Wardens are engaging the first wave!"

Through the blood-red haze, they heard the sound of claws scraping against rock…

The zombies in front were Corrupted Lurker Zombies. They were lean, pale, and fast. They were also crawling on all fours, but they were not like Crawler Zombies, who were slow. They could actually jump as well!

Because of their fast movement and jumping skills, it was quite difficult to defeat them.

Tundra grinned under his mask. "Persistent bastards."

"Cryo-Stasis Charge… I choose you this time!"

He hurled the bomb, and it landed amid a cluster of Lurkers. In the next instant, the device detonated in a burst of frost and mist!

Boom!

The monsters froze mid-motion as their limbs started crystallizing before shattering from turret fire seconds later!

"Hahaha! Kill them all! Burn them!" He ordered.

Soon, the flamethrower turrets roared to life, bathing the valley in pillars of fire!

Licker Zombies, those long-tongued abominations, were just behind the Lurker Zombies and soon, they also screeched as the flames caught their flesh!

They tried to leap through, only to be caught midair by explosive rounds from the Wardens' shoulder cannons.

The entire valley became a storm of explosions and a burning mess!

Nonetheless, after a few moments, Reylin immediately reported another set of incoming Zombies!

"Fifty meters and closing. We've got armored ones in this wave… Keep your Spirit Point output stable. Shane wants no losses."
