Aegon planned to implement all three methods to show Bailish all the possibilities. There could be better ways, but these were the best ones for now.
He had many things in his inventory that he could use to make these terrace farmlands even better, but it would matter little since they couldn't be mass produced.
Once the turning wheels were made, he had them installed in three different places. They were quite big in size but easy to make, so he didn't think it would be a problem to mass produce them.
The first one was at the top in the stone basin. It would bring the water from down below and pour it into the basin, filling it up.
The second one was placed midway to make sure the rope had some support and didn't sag down from the pressure. After all, the distance was quite big.
The third one was placed at the bottom, half submerged in the water.
All three of them had stands to make them mobile. If a sudden situation demanded they be moved away, like a sudden rise in water level, one could easily set them aside.
Of course, the base of the stands was heavy so they wouldn't be affected by the rapid water flow.
Once that was done, Aegon pulled out the rope crafted by another Development Team member. It had several hollow bamboos installed on it at measured distances from each other.
Since the length was already calculated, the rope was exactly the size he wanted, but he still designed it so that it could be adjusted if needed.
"Jason!" Aegon called out, making the said Development Team member flinch slightly.
Jason had already made many mistakes today, so he was disheartened and kept looking down. When he heard Aegon's words, he looked up in confusion.
"Put the ropes on," Aegon said as he threw the bundle of rope at him. "Set them on the turning wheels properly."
"I-I… Boss, what if I mess up again?" Jason said with uncertainty, clearly shaken by so many failures in a single day.
"Are you refusing his command?" Hecte's icy cold voice sent shivers down everyone's spine, making them all shudder in fear.
Normally, Hecte allowed them to be willful, and it had especially been the case in the last decade or so, but there were things she couldn't tolerate.
The most important of them was disobeying Aegon's order. He was their Boss, their leader, and his command was like a Divine mandate.
Of course, Aegon himself cared little about that, so he gave a side glance to Hecte which calmed her down a little.
Then, he turned back towards Jason, who was shaken to the core, and sighed, "Jason, is this your first time working with me?"
Jason shook his head despite the confusion clouding his mind.
"Then, you should know I don't care about your failures as long as you try to improve on them," Aegon said softly. "You all are literally so powerful, so why do you sulk like a kid? I'm the kid here, so stop stealing my job. Go and do the work. If you mess up, we'll just make another. I'm rich. Remember that."
Jason opened his mouth to say something but ended up choking on his words. His body trembled slightly before he nodded and went down the slope.
Meanwhile, Hecte watched everything with a smile hidden behind her shadows. She knew why Jason was getting so sentimental, even though Aegon didn't understand it.
None of them had ever received encouragement from anyone in their lives, after all, so Aegon's actions always made them emotional.
As for their previous leader, Xiu believed that if you were living a shit life and that alone wasn't enough motivation for you to get going, then no other motivation could ever work on you.
She showed her feelings for them in her own way, but encouragement was never one of them. These devils liked how Aegon encouraged them and also appreciated their efforts.
Before long, the rope was set in place and everything was ready to be tested. Several hours of work would finally be shown now.
Aegon clenched and unclenched his fists repeatedly, then slowly took a deep breath to calm his pounding heart. After that, he moved toward the paddles set in the wheels to turn them.
'Please work properly.'
Under everyone else's excited gazes, Aegon began to rotate the wheel as the rope followed the motion, and he soon felt the pressure increasing slightly.
Still, it wasn't enough to give him a challenge. Although he hadn't stepped into the Body Pathway, he trained daily, so he had a perfect physique, not to mention the boost from his Blazing Sun Holy Physique.
In no time, he heard the sound of water hitting against the bamboo, and the first bamboo shaft filled with water appeared before him. As he continued moving the wheel, the first bamboo poured its contents into the stone basin and moved downward to bring more water.
The second one did the same, followed by the third, the fourth…
Slowly, the stone basin began to fill. Seeing that, Aegon couldn't help but laugh out loud. He turned towards the Development Team and shouted, "WE DID IT!!"
"YOOOHAHHHHHH!!!"
He didn't recognize what they were trying to say, but they clearly were just as excited as him, so he let them be and continued filling the stone basin enough for them to do the following testing.
What followed was a thorough check-up of the drainage channels, where Hecte helped by bringing even more water... or rather, just summoning it with magic.
Aegon didn't leave anything unchecked as he wanted to be sure everything was perfect, and fortunately, it was. So, he once again roughly checked and then decided to move on to the next target.
He turned towards the others with a wide smile on his face, "Good job, guys. I didn't think we would be able to make it so quickly."
"Boss! Can you let us eat your food in celebration?"
One of them asked, making the others laugh and turning all their hopeful eyes toward Aegon. He smiled at them and said, "Sure."
"YOOOHAHHHHHH!"
He rolled his eyes at their celebration and said, "Let's make the two more methods as well, and then we'll be ready to show this to the King."
