"What the hell, this is too fast, I can't see clearly!"
The waiter's voice trembled as he stared at the two figures who vanished from the entrance and reappeared on the second floor in just a few breaths.
He had grown up practicing martial arts, and even if his talent was mediocre, only reaching the late stage of Qi Gathering Realm, he still knew enough to recognize monstrous speed when he saw it.
This level of movement… no ordinary cultivator could achieve it.
His pupils contracted violently as fear clawed up his spine.
Soul Formation Realm…? The thought alone made his heart tighten.
"What a fast speed. This must be at least the Soul Formation realm, right?"
He sucked in a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. His mind traced back through everything he had said and done earlier.
Once he confirmed he hadn't offended the guests, he finally allowed himself to breathe again.
But then he noticed someone still standing by his side.
Seraphina.
He stiffened. She stood there quietly, like a statue carved from ice.
He hurriedly bowed. "Miss, please go upstairs."
Seraphina nodded. But the look she gave him... calm, detached, tinged with pity... made his scalp tingle.
It was the look one gives a man already dead.
A soft movement followed; her figure blurred. In a few heartbeats she stood respectfully behind Grey and Iris on the second floor.
She did not sit. She did not speak.
She simply stood there—silent, obedient, waiting.
These two were unpredictable, ruthless, and terrifying. She understood one thing clearly: without their permission, she was less than air.
Below, the waiter watched this astonishingly powerful woman move with impossible ease. And yet… she stood behind the young man like a servant.
A Soul Formation level beauty… reduced to a follower?
He couldn't comprehend it. Blessed Cloud Town was a forgotten ravine in the countryside. How did such monstrous people appear here?
He forced the confusion down and approached the table.
"Sir, madam, what do you need to eat?"
Iris didn't answer. She simply flicked a glance at Seraphina.
Seraphina immediately spoke, "Serve the best food in your inn."
The waiter bowed and rushed off.
Seraphina's heart sank.
That man… the waiter… he didn't know he was already dead.
Grey and Iris had left a river of corpses behind them.
Five towns.
Hundreds of thousands dead.
Cultivators.
Mortals.
Beasts.
Monsters.
None were spared.
They even sealed off an entire mountain range and slaughtered everything inside.
A ninth-level monster, overlord of the forest, the golden giant ape had tried to resist. Grey crushed it with a single finger.
Grey was only at the Mahayana Realm in terms of cultivation, but his combat power was monstrous, enough to flatten a late-stage Mahayana beast like swatting a fly. His strength defied understanding.
Compared to him, Cain—the so-called peerless genius of Skyreach—was trash.
Even Aether, Ethan, and the famed geniuses of Skyreach Territory… Seraphina no longer knew who could compare.
Traveling with Grey and Iris had taught her the truth of the world.
The strong do whatever they want.
The weak are nothing but ants.
And yet, these two had shown her some form of "kindness."
Iris had healed her arm, even given her pills.
The pill Iris gifted, the Heavenly Spirit Pill was something that helped Body Integration experts break into Tribulation Transcendence.
Even at higher realms, it could push a cultivator forward by a small level. Seraphina had already used one in her previous realm, so she'd never expected it to work again.
But the one from Iris…
It pushed her directly into the peak stage of the Tribulation Transcendence realm
She didn't understand why Iris's version of the pill was so terrifying. It was nothing like the Heavenly Spirit Pills she had consumed before.
She knew the truth: she was livestock being fattened for slaughter.
A vessel for her Ice Spirit Soul Body.
But Iris had promised her that once the Ice Spirit Soul matured and was extracted, Seraphina's life would be spared.
She would live, even if as a slave.
Life was life.
Now she understood why people would crawl in mud, bow their heads, discard dignity just to survive.
Death erased everything.
As long as one lived… anything was possible.
Grey's cold voice pulled her from her thoughts.
"Pour the tea."
She picked up the teapot, preparing to serve.
"Kneel down."
Her fingers trembled.
Teeth bit into her lip.
But she knelt, without hesitation, and poured tea for Grey and Iris.
Iris turned to Grey. "Young Master, how is your killing intent progressing?"
"The domain of killing intent has been perfected," Grey replied calmly.
"Next, I can attempt to break into the world of killing intent."
"The path of killing has always been difficult," Iris said lightly.
"In Luminous Continent, the killing path is despised and restricted. Cultivators walk around you like you carry plague."
Grey smirked. "It's much easier here. This land is full of barbarians. Kill as you please. Even if someone tries to stop us, they're just ants."
Iris nodded. "True. This continent is crude and the spiritual energy here is very thin, but it has its advantages."
Then her brows knitted.
"Young master, do you feel it? My spiritual energy seems partially suppressed… as if something here interferes with it."
"Suppression?" Grey shook his head.
"I haven't noticed anything yet. Perhaps my cultivation is still too low compared to Aunt Iris."
"It doesn't affect me much. Even with one-third of my strength, I can sweep through this entire wild continent." Iris smirked.
"Young Master," she added,
"let's massacre this town today. Kill until the killing intent within you is overflowing. After this town is wiped out, your killing domain will reach its final state."
Grey nodded. A flicker of anticipation glimmered in his eyes.
"Good. I'll slaughter another town today to perfect my killing domain."
At that moment, the waiter returned with a tray of steaming dishes.
"Madam, Young Master, these are our signature dishes. Please enjoy. The remaining dishes require more cooking time and will be served shortly."
He placed them down respectfully and hurried away.
Grey and Iris picked up their chopsticks.
Grey tasted a roast chicken, paused, and frowned.... clearly displeased.
