Becoming a Billionaire after Divorce

Chapter 69 The Big Star Ran to My Bed in the Middle of the Night_2

It didn't take long before it retracted. Then, Sun Dasheng's phone rang.

"Hello!"

"Brother Sun, it's me, Tian Xiwei."

"Hmm, you made it?"

"Yes, but... it's so high... I'm a little afraid of heights."

"It's alright. When you jump, just close your eyes."

This was the plan Sun Dasheng had devised for her: just close her eyes and jump, and he would be waiting below to catch her. What was an incredibly difficult task for others was, of course, a simple matter for his superhuman body.

"Ah! But I'm scared."

"Then should I go?"

He was obviously joking, but he was also trying to hurry her along so they wouldn't waste time.

"Don't! Brother Sun, please don't go. What will I do if you leave?"

She was on the verge of tears. Above her, a pack of demons were about to lay their claws on her. She would rather die than let that happen.

With this thought, she realized she was damned if she did and damned if she didn't. She had to take the gamble!

She closed her eyes, stepped out onto the wide terrace railing, and leaped down.

"Eh?"

The fall she had imagined never came. Instead, she found herself caught by a pair of powerful arms.

"Alright! You're safe now."

A gentle voice spoke in her ear. She opened her eyes and looked up to find Sun Dasheng gazing down at her, his own eyes bright.

A blush spread quickly from her ears. It was the first time she had been held in a man's arms like this, outside of acting.

"Okay, you can come down now. We need to get out of here."

Hearing his words, Tian Xiwei finally realized she was clinging to his neck. She wasn't one to be coy, so she hopped down from his embrace, patted her wrinkled clothes, and said, "Thanks, Brother Sun."

"Alright, you can thank me later," he said, taking her hand as they left together.

Once they were back in the car, Tian Xiwei nervously pulled her hand away. She had never been held by the hand like this before, and her heart was pounding.

"Where to? Should I take you home?" Sun Dasheng asked.

"Don't!" Tian Xiwei quickly refused. She then explained, "My company arranged that dinner party. I don't trust them."

Sun Dasheng nodded. "So, where to now?"

"How about... your place, Brother Sun? I'd be scared to go anywhere else..."

"Alright, my place is spacious. You can stay for the night," Sun Dasheng said, not thinking much of it.

「The Presidential Suite.」

A major star could certainly afford such a room, so unlike other women who might have been shocked, she simply asked which room was hers and went inside. She's probably just terrified and needs to rest properly, Sun Dasheng thought, so he didn't disturb her.

Not long after, the hotel doorbell rang. It was room service with their dinner. After the staff left, a frightened Tian Xiwei immediately called him to ask what was going on.

Sun Dasheng chuckled. "Don't worry, they just brought the food. It was the room service staff. Do you want to eat?"

At his question, Tian Xiwei realized her stomach was growling with hunger. In the frightening environment from before, she hadn't dared to eat or drink much.

"I see you're staying here alone. Why did you order so much food?" Tian Xiwei asked, her cheeks puffed out with food.

Sun Dasheng smiled. "Who says one person can't eat this much?"

"Huh? Can you really finish it all?"

Tian Xiwei sized up his physique, then nodded. "No wonder you're in such good shape. You eat so much at every meal."

"Wait! I'm eating some of this. Will you have enough?" she asked.

"Of course. Look how little you've eaten compared to how much I have."

Alright then. Tian Xiwei glanced at the large pile of bones on the table in front of him. Her own portion paled in comparison—not even a tenth of his.

After dinner, they showered in their respective bathrooms and went to bed.

「Two o'clock in the morning.」

Tian Xiwei had a nightmare. She dreamed she was being tormented by several vile thugs, and she woke up drenched in a cold sweat.

A little while later, the living room light switched on, then off again.

「The next day.」

Sun Dasheng woke to find someone else in his bed. A woman. Her chest was pressed uncomfortably against his back as she clung to him tightly from behind.

Prying her hands off directly was the worst option, as it would surely startle her awake.

He gently rolled over so they were lying side-by-side, face-to-face. Seeing her asleep with her brow still furrowed, he immediately understood what must have happened. She must have had a nightmare, been too scared to sleep alone, and run over to his room.

He gently smoothed her furrowed brow. Looking at her lovely face, he couldn't resist giving her cheek a light pinch.

Unexpectedly, that feather-light touch was enough to wake her.

"AH!" she shrieked. This has to be another nightmare. Why else would I wake up with a man in my bed?

Sun Dasheng held her tightly and soothed her, "It's okay. It was all just a nightmare."

Before long, she finally calmed down. The first thing she said was, "Brother Sun, why are you in my bed?"

Sun Dasheng didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "Take a look. Whose bed do you think this is?"

She glanced around, and her face instantly turned red. This wasn't her room. Did I really run into the wrong room last night? She had a vague memory of the nightmare. After being startled awake, she'd been afraid to sleep alone, so... As the memories of the previous night came flooding back, she felt mortified. She had been the one to run to his bed, yet she had almost accused him of wrongdoing.

"I'm so sorry, Brother Sun."

"It's fine. What happened last night was understandable. Are you feeling better now?" Sun Dasheng asked.
