The Young Urban Doctor

Chapter 110: Many Things Are Best Kept Secret

Luo Ziling's gaze naturally fell first on Lin Lan's chest, but it lingered for less than a second before moving to the scar.

He stepped forward to examine the healing of the scar closely.

Since Lin Lan was standing with her back to the light and he couldn't see clearly, Luo Ziling turned on the lights in the room and pulled Lin Lan to the brightest spot.

Baring her upper body in front of Luo Ziling, Lin Lan was very restrained and uncomfortable, but ultimately she complied with Luo Ziling's arrangement.

Biting her lip as she stood in front of Luo Ziling, Lin Lan's body wasn't as tense as she had imagined it would be.

Perhaps she felt that Luo Ziling had already seen every part of her body, and letting him see once more was no big deal.

It might also be that she didn't sense any danger from Luo Ziling's actions.

Or there might have been some reasons she couldn't verbalize that made her accept this young man's scrutiny.

Luo Ziling carefully examined the scar and gently pressed on it to check. After he finished his examination, he sighed deeply, "My worry just now was unnecessary; it's healing nicely."

Without waiting for Lin Lan to react, he took out the antiseptic solution and meticulously began to wipe the scar for her.

After finishing the wiping, Luo Ziling carefully used a cotton swab to clean up any medicinal liquid that had flowed to other areas.

Lin Lan did not resist or try to pull away, but just stood quietly, letting Luo Ziling clean.

Yesterday, after cutting open the new scar and applying medicine, Luo Ziling had wrapped the wound with sterilized gauze.

But today, there was no need to bandage it with gauze anymore.

The wound on Lin Lan's body had already scabbed over, healing at a rate beyond what could be expected from normal surgical stitching.

Lin Lan was quite surprised by the recovery of the wound, but Luo Ziling wasn't surprised at all. After cleaning the remaining liquid from the scar, he whispered, "It's best not to wear a bra, as it might pull on the wound and hinder healing; there might even be a chance of a scar being left."

Seeing Lin Lan look at him strangely, Luo Ziling hesitated, then added, "It should be okay by tomorrow, but for better recovery, it's best... to be careful."

"Okay," Lin Lan didn't think Luo Ziling was being lecherous, but that he had her best interest in mind, so she readily agreed and got ready to put on her clothes, deciding not to wear the bra she had just taken off.

"Let me help you," said Luo Ziling, picking up the clothes Lin Lan had just removed, "There's no one else here, and I'm the doctor treating you, so don't be so self-conscious."

After thinking it over, Lin Lan ended up accepting Luo Ziling's logic and didn't insist on doing things her way; instead, she let Luo Ziling help her get dressed.

As he zipped her up, Luo Ziling whispered again, "Get some rest to let the medicinal liquid fully absorb."

"Then you should sleep for a while," said Lin Lan without any hesitation, accepting Luo Ziling's suggestion and pointing to her large bed, "You look tired, rest a bit before you go, and I'll make you lunch later."

Having been here several times, this was the first time Lin Lan offered to make him something to eat, and Luo Ziling was actually quite excited.

After thinking it over, he finally didn't refuse Lin Lan's arrangement.

He really was feeling sleepy and wanted to rest.

Yesterday he had unceremoniously slept here without an invitation from her.

Today, with Lin Lan's invitation, Luo Ziling truly had no intention of refusing.

After yawning, Luo Ziling lay down on one side of the bed and quickly fell into a deep sleep.

Lin Lan was also quite sleepy, but she didn't sleep; instead, she tiptoed to the bathroom, undressed, and carefully inspected her wound in the mirror. After looking for a while, she eventually got dressed and walked out of the bathroom.

Seeing that Luo Ziling was sleeping soundly, she thought for a moment and then lay down on the bed as well.

Soon, she fell asleep too.

About an hour later, both of them woke up at the same time.

"Sorry, I really fell asleep," Luo Ziling quickly explained when he saw Lin Lan sitting up and looking at him with a strange expression, "I was really tired, but a nap did me good."

"I'll go get you some lunch. Eat before you go back; you were sweating all over just now. Maybe you should take a shower first!" Lin Lan said, and without waiting for Luo Ziling's response, she turned and walked out of the room.

Luo Ziling originally thought about suggesting they go together, but after some consideration, he ended up not saying anything.

When Lin Lan closed the door and left the room, Luo Ziling stood up and carefully looked around Lin Lan's living space.

Unfortunately, he didn't find anything in Lin Lan's room that interested him.

Not daring to search in detail, he eventually just packed up his own things and sat down on the sofa in the living room outside.

Although Lin Lan told him to take a shower, he had no intention of doing so, mainly because it would be embarrassing.

After all, Lin Lan was a woman, and for him to take a shower in a woman's room would be embarrassing if others found out. Moreover, it could damage Lin Lan's reputation, as some might think they had an inappropriate relationship.

Of course, Luo Ziling also believed that their relationship was somewhat clandestine; it was completely different from others.

About ten minutes later, Lin Lan returned, carrying a food bag with her uninjured hand.

Luo Ziling hurried over to take it and carried it to the table, taking out the contents.

"This is our lunch. Make do with it," Lin Lan said softly.

"No problem," Luo Ziling replied with a shy smile, busily setting things up.

Upon opening the food containers, he found that the meal was actually quite rich—there was fish, meat, vegetables, and a generous portion. The cooking skills of the chef seemed decent.

As the two sat down to eat together, Luo Ziling asked with a smile, "You all have pretty good meals, huh!"

Lin Lan didn't answer, just giving Luo Ziling a look.

Luo Ziling chuckled and began to devour his food.

While eating, he couldn't help but ask another question, "Is the senior the founder of Dragon Rise?"

Upon hearing Luo Ziling's words, Lin Lan immediately furrowed her brows, "Who told you that?"

With Lin Lan's response, Luo Ziling was fully convinced that the old man was indeed the founder of Dragon Rise and hurriedly explained, "Actually, anyone who isn't a fool would realize that the senior's status is very revered, and you all are quite fearful of him. The first time I came here, even though I didn't see him, I felt a strong aura, the kind that makes one unable to straighten their back. From these points, the conclusion I mentioned earlier can be drawn."

Of course, Luo Ziling wouldn't say that it was what Ouyang Feifei had mentioned that led him to think this.

Lin Lan listened and didn't press further, nor did she acknowledge it. She simply continued to focus on her meal.

Only after finishing her portion did she speak indifferently, "There are many things that you shouldn't talk about even if you do know, and shouldn't ask too much. Whatever you need to know, Nature will tell you."

"All right!" Luo Ziling agreed.
