Luo Ziling suddenly asked this question, startling Lin Lan who was standing by ready to serve, making her glare at him, though Luo Ziling ignored it. He really wanted to clear up the past, and so, upon seeing the old man's kind attitude toward him, he couldn't help but ask out of curiosity.
Since he had asked the question, he was very hopeful for an answer from the elder—how could a glare from Lin Lan scare him off?
The elder was also taken aback for a moment, not expecting Luo Ziling to ask this question.
"I don't know," the elder finally said after a slight hesitation, shaking his head. "Actually, I met your grandfather only a few times, but we hit it off right away. Afterward, I couldn't find him anymore."
In fact, the elder knew the details and was one of the people involved in the events, but he definitely wouldn't tell Luo Ziling about it at this time. These were not things he could mention, nor were they things Luo Ziling could know at the moment—he could only give a vague and evasive response.
Luo Ziling didn't notice anything unusual in the elder's expression and ended up believing what he had just said, feeling a bit deflated, he silently sighed.
The elder also knew that it wasn't quite right to have brought up Luo Liansheng's affairs these past days, and quickly changed the subject: "I slept very well last night, I haven't had such a sound sleep in years."
"Elder, you look much better today than yesterday, and I think if we continue the treatment, the outcome might be better than we expected!"
"I hope you can surprise me," the elder laughed heartily, but after a short while, he stopped abruptly, "If you can cure my illness, I will surely reward you generously."
After a pause, the elder added, "You saved Lin Lan's life and healed my injury; everyone in Dragon Rise will be grateful to you."
"Elder, I still don't know what kind of organization Dragon Rise is," Luo Ziling said with an embarrassed smile, glancing at Lin Lan and seeing that she had no particular reaction, then continued, "Actually, I don't even know what her status is. When I saved her, I guessed she was a soldier from the national flag on her clothes, otherwise, I might not have dared to help."
"Without you, she had no chance of surviving; without your exceptional medical skills, even if she could have been brought back to life, she would not have been able to recover to her current state," the elder glanced at Lin Lan, who had a strained look on her face, then looked back at Luo Ziling, smiling, "However, there are some things we can't tell you, as they involve military secrets, so we hope for your understanding."
"All right, I won't ask," Luo Ziling had to suppress his curiosity and prepared to start today's treatment.
Once the treatment began, Luo Ziling entered the role of a doctor completely, with no distractions.
Especially when it came to acupuncture, he was completely careful.
During the acupuncture, Luo Ziling also felt a slight change in the elder's body: when the needle entered the acupuncture point, the elder's muscle reaction was a bit more intense.
The change in reaction was almost imperceptible to the naked eye and could only be felt through physical contact.
Although it might have been a stress response of the body, Luo Ziling still believed that it was a manifestation of effectiveness.
After the acupuncture session was over, Luo Ziling performed massage on the elder.
During the massage, he infused his internal energy further into the movements, which made the effect of the massage better, but it also consumed much more physical strength. By the time he finished massaging the elder, Luo Ziling was nearly spent, and his clothes were almost soaked with sweat.
When he finished the treatment and stood up, Luo Ziling's legs wobbled, and he nearly fell to the ground.
Fortunately, Lin Lan was quick to react and caught him with her hand.
"Thank you," Luo Ziling gripped Lin Lan's arm tightly and sincerely expressed his gratitude.
But as he thanked her, he saw Lin Lan's face twitch, a look of pain crossing her features, and Luo Ziling quickly let go.
He knew that Lin Lan must have aggravated her wound, otherwise she wouldn't have had such a reaction.
Luo Liansheng immediately prevented Lin Lan from helping and asked her to stand aside, to stop helping clean up.
Luo Ziling instructed the two caregivers to tidy up with him. After everything was in order, he packed his belongings into a bag and then called for Lin Lan to leave with him.
"Did you pull at the wound just now?" Luo Ziling quietly asked Lin Lan after they walked out of the elderly person's small building.
Lin Lan glanced at him and finally nodded her head.
Luo Ziling hesitated for a bit before finally saying softly, "I'll have a look at it for you later."
Lin Lan did not respond but simply continued walking ahead to lead the way.
When they left the small building, Luo Ziling again spotted the two individuals, one dressed in black, the other in white, who had stopped him yesterday.
Seeing these two opponents he had fiercely contested with, Luo Ziling's relaxed body immediately tensed up again, and he stopped in his tracks.
If they were looking for a fight today, he would have to concede defeat, for he was already physically exhausted from earlier.
However, the two individuals didn't come charging over; they merely nodded slightly to him and then stepped forward to ask Lin Lan, "How are you?"
"I'm fine," Lin Lan shook her head and then added in a soft voice, "The treatment was quite effective."
Watching them nod and shake their heads, Luo Ziling was a little confused about what was going on.
"You have earned our respect," the dark-skinned Falcon extended his hand towards Luo Ziling, "We admire you."
Luo Ziling looked at him warily before finally extending his hand and giving Falcon a high five.
"When we talk about learning from you," Mountain Eagle gave Luo Ziling a slight smile. He didn't say anything more and turned to walk away.
Once the two highly-skilled individuals left, Luo Ziling finally breathed a sigh of relief, and his tense body relaxed.
Lin Lan turned her head to glance at Luo Ziling, her eyes a bit strange, but she said nothing.
The two walked in silence to Lin Lan's room. After taking off their shoes, Luo Ziling followed Lin Lan into the bedroom.
"How about I check your wound's recovery first?" After entering the room, Luo Ziling took the initiative and suggested, "The other scars, I think it would be better to treat them in a few days. Otherwise, it will harm your body since you don't take good care of yourself. When injured, you need proper care to recover quickly. If you don't take care of yourself, there will definitely be complications, you know?"
His words stunned Lin Lan for a moment, and then she felt a little touched. Ultimately, she nodded her head, accepting Luo Ziling's advice.
Without saying much, she turned her back and started to take off her leather jacket.
Luo Ziling didn't stare at Lin Lan's back but took the opportunity to put down the bag on his shoulder and took out some necessary treatment tools and medicine from it while Lin Lan was unfastening her bra.
With her clothes off and bra undone, Lin Lan held her chest with both hands, while Luo Ziling still had his head down, gathering items.
"The wound has healed much better than I had anticipated. Just now, it was only because of exerting force that I felt pain," Lin Lan said as she let go of her hands from her chest.
Of course, a vivid red scar was there, striking to the eye.
