God of Destruction: Living Among Mortals

Chapter 145: Wrath

Nova opened his eyes, the core infusing in him, as his right eye turned an abnormal red, while his left eye turned midnight black. There was no iris, no white, just those two colors representing chaos and destruction, and the fire and darkness towards his precious babies.

"Why did your filthy, disgusting hand ever touch my kittens? Why did you have to kill them? Why?" Nova asked, every syllable of every word guttural to the concept of the word.

"I had to target my kill's weak spot, and I realized those kittens and Elesch were your weak spots. But since the kittens weren't that much of a trouble, I killed them."

Nova didn't say anything. His face didn't twitch; nothing happened. But then, suddenly, everything happened. Nova's body radiated with his amplified red-black aura; his Circle of Pillars didn't read the five pillars that he gathered up to this point. Now, he had three diagonal lines and was an EX-rank Adventurer. The highest you can get with the Circle of Pillars.

"What the hell..." James Mahe exclaimed.

Nova floated in the sky, his daggers transforming according to the skill level he was at. His daggers flowed with his aura; his mere presence alone shattered the Earth. As if the Earth were the one trying to lift Nova from its shoulders.

Elesch and Adam swallowed hard, as everyone was frightened. James Mahe summoned a large amount of lightning, conjuring it and hurling it towards Nova, who cut through the attack perfectly, as if it were nothing but a piece of an atom floating in the sky.

Nova gently put himself to the ground, and just the mere step, the mere touch of the ground annihilated the entire ground, cracking open the tournament floor like a piece of cake.

Kai used his blood and tried to strike Nova, but Nova took the hit. Nothing happened to him, but the blood, the very essence of Kai's power, began to boil and distort the moment it touched Nova.

It quivered, blackened, then turned to ash that spiraled upward into Nova's aura, consumed, transmuted, and erased from the concept of "substance."

Nova raised his eyes, red and black eyes distorting the reality itself. The ground beneath him had stopped behaving like matter. The crowd around him could no longer breathe easily; the air had become heavy, charged with collapsing energy.

Nova then summoned his daggers, along with three other weapons: a sword, a hammer, and a spear. Each weapon floated around him, suspended in the quivering air, orbiting like fragments of a dying star.

The sword burned red flames that didn't give light but instead were a blackhole. The hammer was midnight black, bending the laws of gravity, the concept of gravity, and spasming around its edges. The spear, darker than the hammer, with red streaks, reflected nothing; it consumed and radiated chaos.

Then he clenched his daggers, his oldest companions, the red-black aura flowing along their blades like molten lava. They didn't burn, they didn't shimmer, they just existed, the very essence of annihilation distilled into twin points of focused chaos and destruction.

"Hellscript Arsenal: Activate," Nova said.

Sigils appeared around each weapon, floating, spinning, interlaced lines of crimson and black energy that shimmered in sync with Nova's heartbeat. Each weapon absorbed the sigils, embedding them into its form.

The sword was now able to split reality with every micro-movement, the hammer's mass became a distortion that sucked in surrounding gravity, and the spear's presence unraveled space around it, warping matter and light into nothingness.

James Mage's lightning struck again, more powerful than before, tearing through the air. As it neared Nova, the hammer absorbed the lightning entirely. The lightning twisted and turned, contorted into just nothingness.

Then, using the sword, Nova split the sky open, and on the other side was a blackhole, bursting through space, and in its trajectory was the portal that linked the open space to Earth. But before that could happen, Nova's mind faltered.

The weapons disappeared, all of them, and the Circle of Pillars reverted to normal as Nova fought with his wrath. He tried to control himself, but everything was glitching for him. His Circle of Pillars, his weapons they kept glitching in and out of existence, in and out of his body.

Elesch hugged him tightly, which made him calm down more, and he was able to retain his previous self. Then he heard something, magnificent. He heard the sounds, the purr of his kittens, of his children, that he wanted to introduce to his children. Though giving birth was still a couple of months away, it can sometimes take up to years for divine beings.

Marcus had ordered his men to get his kittens, which he knew James was lying about, since James had no idea where Nova's address of, and even if he knew, Marcus had put his shadow clones, who remained in the shadows, to report back to him if anything were to happen to the trio, embedding them in their houses.

James summoned lightning, but before that was possible, Marcus used his shadow manipulation and controlled James. He stopped James from summoning his lightning, then, in a flicker of a second, James vanished with his minions, teleporting away.

Nova and Elesch hugged the kittens. Nova didn't cry; he was just happy that they weren't dead. But now he knew that his mission was to irradiate the existence of James Mahe and his organization.

The kittens went back to Talia, and the tournament resumed. Nova had reverted to himself before any real damage to shape place, so he was able to walk and run with a minor headache. Since the American guild still had five members, Nova, Elesch, Adam, Zane, and Michael, they could technically still compete, though they would have to pull more weight than the other teams, especially for tomorrow's tournament.

The tournament began again, and in a second, Zane had used his ability, and with the flag that was on the floor since James had shown up, he quickly used his ability for the team to rest up for a day, while being the first one to pass through the stage.
