Nova's eyes were shut; his duplicate had summoned his soul in the Ability Chamber, knowing what was going to occur if he hadn't spawned him there. Nova swiftly opened his eyes, the core missing from the chamber, as the duplicate didn't allow it to phase through.
"You cannot use the core as your source of power. If you have any trust in me, you wouldn't utilize the core." The duplicate said, his voice sounding urgent and dismissive.
"But why?" Nova inquired. He tilted his head, his blank expression making the duplicate shallow hard.
The look of despair that had sprawled on his face for just the mere deaths of four individuals that he didn't yet know thoroughly, which then he compared to if something happened to Elesch and Adam, considering the fact that Elesch would just reincarnate again, but Adam couldn't. But even if Elesch could reincarnate, at that moment, that derivative, Nova, would still lose his cool, since he was adapting more towards the mortal life, making the feelings of compassion and love that mortals felt bloom in that sudden moment of anxiety.
"That core belongs to Draco, and you know him as well as I, since we are the same being, but different." The duplicate shook his head to get back on track. "But that's besides the point. The point I'm trying to utter to your thick brain is that that's Draco's core. He voluntarily put that core knowing that you would have it, and these things will occur, so you cannot let these temptations give in to your fury."
Nova didn't say anything. The only noise that came out of him was his gentle, yet sophisticated breathing pattern. Then, silence. The deafening silence stopped the chaos and destruction that was taking shape in the Ability Chamber.
"If you absorb that core, it will permanently mess up your body. You will only gain strength, which would backfire almost immediately, and I don't know your mortal body to be fucking unrepairable. James Mahe may be a villain, but he doesn't deserve the wrath that will destroy your mortal soul. He doesn't."
Nova sighed. He's right. I didn't necessarily know those four by heart, but they were still in my party. But I can't let this fury, this rage take over. I can't. I need to resist. I need to fight.
"Okay," Nova finally said a word, his voice low, barely audible, more to himself than his duplicate, who still heard it. "I get it. I will stop."
Nova's soul wrapped back into his body. He saw James Mahe and his minions surrounding him, Elesch and Adam, with a translucent barrier placed to block the other Adventurers from stopping him, including Marcus.
"What's happening?" Nova turned and saw Adam crawling towards Elesch, who was knocked out. He leapt towards him, grabbing him and placing him by Elesch, then brought her to his lap, slowly, gently, patting through her hair. "Elesch, come on, wake up."
The core in Nova's pocket dimmed, as if realizing that Nova's fury and wrath had subsided for the near future. James Mahe looked pityingly at them, the trio, whoever all there for each other, something that Mahe had never had, or felt before.
James Mahe then walked towards them. After a couple of moments, being right in front of the trio, lightning in his palm crackled, which then vanished as he bent down to face the angry Nova, who had stopped patting Elesch's hair.
"What do you want for me?" Nova frankly asked James, who just grinned.
"Nothing really, I just hate your guts, that's all. And the guts of everyone in the fucking world. All the retards, and btiches out there, bullying me just because I'm better. It's so fucking annoying all the time. I work so hard for the country," no one agreed with him. "But I get no gratitude in return, and I save your little asses, you fucking newbies, and I get no gratitude, so why not just kill you. Like I did those four... and like I did those..."
Nova's mind went blank as James completed his dialogue. Adam was in shock, so was Marcus, with the others confused but still in shock, as even though they didn't know the relationship, killing something so precious and cute was just outright inhumane, even though killing humans wasn't exactly considered as inhumane as that.
"What the fuck did you say...?" Nova slowly let go of Elesch's head, who started to wake up, not knowing what was happening.
She saw Nova's expression change from that look of despair from earlier into something worse, more sinister. The core in his pocket was radiating like a blackhole absorbing everything that Nova was feeling and splitting out an emotion a hundred times more vile.
Everyone in the entire world felt it. That shock, that shiver, that wave of fear, of fury, of anger embedded into their bodies, almost equal to when The Nornir had arrived. Marcus gulped hard as he summoned another Oblivion Spire, giving this more juice, breaking through the shield, though that didn't change anything.
Before Nova could do anything, his soul was transformed back to the Ability Chamber, but all the chaos and destruction around the duplicate had shifted. The duplicate's ears bleed an ignorant red that wasn't physically possible for a human being to have.
The noises from the chaos and destruction amplified, fear had set into motion in the duplicate's being, devouring him whole, as the Ability Chamber crumbled inward, Nova's soul returning to his mortal body.
James Mahe simply grinned through the fear that he felt, sweat forming and spilling down his temple, as Marcus created a dense ball of shadow and hurled it at Nova to knock him out, if possible. But when the shadow sphere reached Nova, it vanished like a meteor burning before a collision.
The core pulsed more violently, shattering into an infinitesimal number of pieces. Nova closed his eyes as all the infinitesimal pieces forged into Nova, then he opened his eyes.
