Apocalyptic Wasteland Simulator

Chapter 168 Forced Stop! Black Skull Mad Dog

He went to the trunk and, after rummaging around for a moment, pulled out an object. It looked something like the folding scooters commonly used by delivery drivers on Blue Star, but the details were different, giving it a post-apocalyptic, wasteland feel. Then, Sneaky Face and Erzhuang hopped on the scooter and sped off in the direction Chen Pingchuan had gone.

Meanwhile, the Brother Gou that Sneaky Face had mentioned was already bustling with activity far ahead. He was directing his underlings to build layer upon layer of fortifications on the highway. Several cars were strewn crisscross in the middle of the road, forming a makeshift steel wall. Further ahead, the ground was covered with tire spikes, their sharp points glinting coldly in the sunlight like the fangs of a predator. Behind the barricade, two bulldozers resembling steel behemoths were parked side-by-side, completely sealing off the road. Everything was ready—a carefully laid trap waiting for Chen Pingchuan to drive right into it.

Liu Haofeng felt like his head was about to split open. He had only been asleep for a little over an hour when the metal war car jolted violently, ripping him from his slumber.

"Brother Chen, what's going on?"

Liu Haofeng's eyes were bloodshot, and he looked like an enraged, cornered beast. Anyone who has ever been rudely awakened from a sweet dream could understand the irritation and fury simmering within him. If not for his fear of Chen Pingchuan's imposing presence, he likely would have erupted like a volcano and unleashed all his pent-up anger.

"Oh, it's nothing. Just a couple of inconsiderate idiots who left their cars in the middle of the road. I sent them flying."

Chen Pingchuan said nonchalantly, unable to contain his grin. He pointed to the front window of the metal war car and boasted to Liu Haofeng, "I have to say, this vehicle is incredible. The feeling of one car smashing into another... it's a rush!"

Liu Haofeng was speechless. All desire to sleep had vanished. Although he hadn't rested well, he figured he could hold out until nightfall. Chen Pingchuan had been acting strangely yesterday, rushing ahead recklessly even in the dead of night, as if something terrifying was chasing him. Today, however, he seemed much more relaxed, the previous sense of urgency gone.

Something must have happened at the mine, Liu Haofeng secretly guessed. Something I don't know about that forced him to leave in such a hurry.

While Chen Pingchuan was turned to speak with Liu Haofeng, the car shot forward a considerable distance. In the next instant, Liu Haofeng's eyes flew wide open. "Brother Chen, stop the car!" he yelled in terror. "There's—"

"There's what?" Chen Pingchuan didn't even have time to finish his question.

BANG!

BANG!

BANG!

A series of deafening impacts, accompanied by violent tremors, swallowed the rest of Liu Haofeng's warning. The car's smart-brain alarm immediately began to blare.

"WARNING: UNKNOWN COLLISION DETECTED. ENGINE DAMAGED. PLEASE CONTACT AFTER-SALES SERVICE FOR REPAIRS."

"TEMPORARILY CUTTING POWER SUPPLY..."

VMMMM...

As the power was cut, the lights inside the car flickered and died, plunging them into darkness.

"Dammit! My Super Invincible Tyrannosaurus War Car got wrecked just like that?" Chen Pingchuan couldn't help but curse. "I wasn't even done having fun with it!"

This simulator's evaluation is completely unreliable, he grumbled to himself. What happened to defending against Level 6 attacks? Where's the so-called super-strong protection?

What Chen Pingchuan didn't know was that, firstly, he had failed to activate the energy defense system. This meant he had relied solely on the vehicle's physical chassis for the collision, rather than an energy shield. Secondly, the men blocking the road outside were completely dumbfounded by his reckless charge.

The Black Skull Legion was a cancerous force that had festered in the apocalypse. It was founded by a group of mysterious Genetic Warriors and was entrenched on the outskirts of Baihao City in Kailing Province. The Legion's methods were vicious, depraved, and utterly insane. To them, capture, imprisonment, torture, bullying, and murder were nothing more than daily routine. The hands of most of its members were already stained with the blood of the innocent; they were a group of thoroughly conscienceless villains.

Anyone captured by them would be dragged into their shelter, a veritable Demon Cave. There, you had only two choices: be forced to join their ranks and become as wicked as them, damning your soul completely, or endure inhumane abuse.

Men were treated like livestock, forced into slavery at the lowest rung of society, barely surviving a daily regimen of grueling labor and brutal beatings. In the eyes of the Legion, their lives were as insignificant as ants. Women were dragged into an endless abyss of darkness, reduced to tools for the villains to vent their carnal desires and seek pleasure, their dignity crushed to dust. As for the children, still as young and tender as flowers, they would face an even more unimaginable fate. It was a place of nightmares for any wanderer.

"Which idiot is it this time?" a burly, dark-skinned man in a tank top and shorts cursed while sucking in a sharp breath. "My car... damn it! Now that asshole Third Brother is going to be nagging me about this forever. Shit!"

The cursing man was called Mad Dog, though his real name was lost to time. Others called him Brother Gou. He truly lived up to his nickname. Whenever a fight broke out, he would get completely fired up, becoming unbelievably vicious. Once he set his sights on an enemy, they were doomed. He was like a ravenous wolf hunting its prey; his ferocity and tenacity were relentless, and he would never back down until his target was utterly destroyed.

So why "Mad Dog" and not "Mad Wolf"? Because this ferocious man had a rather peculiar fetish: he loved to smell women's used, stinky socks. The stronger the odor, the better. It was for this reason that everyone agreed the nickname "Mad Dog" suited him perfectly. Mad Dog himself not only accepted the moniker but wore it with pride, as if it were a badge of honor that set him apart.

At that moment, Mad Dog stood on the side of the road, staring at the cars that had been smashed to smithereens and sent flying across the highway. His face was flushed crimson, like a red-hot iron. He'd already received reports that some reckless fool was trying to ram through the checkpoint, but he never imagined the guy would be this stupid. With so many cars blocking the road, how could he not see them? Is he blind?

Just as Mad Dog's rage was about to boil over, two young men climbed out of the crashed metal war car. They both looked to be around twenty years old. Judging by their clothes, appearance, and demeanor, they were clearly privileged students from the Inner City District.
