On the square, Tang Qi, clad in a shirt, trousers, and a trench coat, perched on a dark yellow wooden bench, feeding the "Abnormally Spicy Hot Dog" he had clearly just purchased from the adjacent hot dog stand to the Night Beast and the Elf, all while watching the incredibly bustling scene before him.

As for Gluttony, it was currently engrossed in happily counting its newly gained treasure, oblivious to the food.

Currently, it was the wee hours of the morning, the night sky had not yet fully brightened, a creeping dawn mixed in to create a misty chill, but the newly inaugurated Thorns Square was already teeming with people, abuzz with activity.

Those present included not only the locals from Eagle Heart Port but even tourists who had traveled from other cities, all with the same purpose.

The fragments of the statue of the Lord of Thorns, transported here from Jiatai City, had already been assembled in New Thorn Square and only one final process remained—to reattach the Wings of Freedom, recovered by the officials of Eagle's Nest City from the sea, to the statue.

The two pieces were originally one and the same.

It's just that hundreds of years ago, the Wings of Freedom were lost due to an accident.

What astonished the populace was that Jiatai City actually agreed to gift the statue of the Lord of Thorns to Eagle's Nest City.

After all, the Lord of Thorns is a Divine being whose status within the Bright Church is second only to that of the Lord of Light.

That towering statue was indeed one of the symbols of Jiatai City.

Although Jiatai City and the Church both made their reasons public:

"The statue is old and in disrepair, Jiatai City cannot afford the costs of maintenance and reassembly, and since the Wings of Freedom were salvaged from the sea by Eagle's Nest City, after negotiations, it has been temporarily entrusted to Eagle's Nest City as a loan to demonstrate the friendship between the two cities."

This nonsensical rationale could fool no one except perhaps the most naive among the populace.

Many suspected that there was a huge hidden agenda or secret involved.

But in the Extraordinary World, most well-informed Transcendents were aware of what was happening.

This was especially true following a series of seemingly trivial events:

"The headquarters of the Old Continent Church summoned all churches on Origin Star, including the Federation Church, to convene and agree to rewrite a large number of gospels."

"An archaeology team discovered new ancient manuscripts at the birth site of the Light. These contained secrets that might redefine the relationship between Light and Thorn."

"Thorns Churches and memorials, already scarce, have been shutting down across various regions."

...

"Rafael and His followers leaving the Church should be considered the greatest weakening of the Church in a long span of time... since it was an internal strife within the Church, and Rafael temporarily emerged victorious, although His number of Believers far falls short of the Lord of Light, His situation, like my own, is still relatively good."

"Especially for me, the definition given by the Mysterious Side of the Federation and even Origin Star is probably: 'A Wizard who knows ancient knowledge, friend of the reincarnated 'Lord of Thorns', with a second Profession of 'Melter Wizard', powerful and Mysterious.'"

"If one has an exceptional imagination, one might even surmise that I, too, am the reincarnation of some deity?"

Tang Qi patted the hot dog crumbs off his hand, his mind filled with turbulent thoughts.

After pondering for a moment and confirming his own situation:

"Other than some chaotic, Evil Camp Evil God believers who might come looking for trouble, any other camps and Transcendents are likely to remain Neutral, with organizations like the Holy Eagle Nest Society eager to court me without hesitation."

"As per my instructions, the Merada Special Education School, Ancient Castle Bureau, and other friends are keeping a distance from me for the time being. They shouldn't encounter danger... after all, not even mad Transcendents would want to provoke an enraged Melter Wizard."

"Mm, the most crucial point being, everyone seems to believe that I'm different from the forebears of the Dark Era; I won't go around hunting for sacrifices, won't wildly spread the Molten Furnace Spark, won't court death."

The last thought came to a halt, Tang Qi turned his gaze to Gluttony at his side, which was devoid of any disguise.

With everyone in the entourage covered by an "Illusion Spell," there was no need to worry about being detected by the civilians coming and going.

Seeing its master looking over, the personified features of Gluttony immediately contorted, its gigantic maw clamping shut instinctively, displaying the visage of a miser, to which Tang Qi could not help but feel a mix of laughter and tears.

Yet, Gluttony's reaction was also quite normal, having followed Tang Qi for a considerable length of time, but seeming to have never had such a bountiful haul as now.

In fact, not too much time had passed since Tang Qi, along with the Holy Eagle Nest Society, battled the "Devouring Beast". It had been less than two days.

Even though the "Mysterious Object Explosion" caused by the fall of the Devouring Beast had resulted in at least a hundred Curios scattering, aside from the initial bizarreness with that "hammer" near him, Tang Qi did not let Gluttony, the Night Beast, or the Elf gather any.

While inside the body of the Devouring Beast, however, Gluttony had quite a harvest.

So much so, it was somewhat "overstuffed".

For Pocket Space Curios like it, which are also considered a kind of Extraordinary Creatures, despite possessing Pocket Space, there is a limit and certain restrictions to what they can store; once too many Curios imbued with Extraordinary Power are accumulated, the spillover of their aura might cause it to go out of control.

And some Curios that hold immense Divine Power or special attributes, it cannot swallow at all, at least not until it grows into the next stage.

Like the Thorny Law Code obtained from the Lord of Light, the "Holy Covenant Tablet" Tang Qi had recently obtained through trickery, and the freshly acquired "Devouring Crystal".
