A Terrible Villain And Their Destiny

Chapter 175: Ready For The Weekend?

By the end of the first week of school there were a few things that were established. One of them was that Bryson Coldwater, Reynard Alvidor, and Anna Cherrywood were officially a group in the eyes of the wider school community. A classification that Bryson was not a fan of. He didn't hate Anna, and he tolerated Reynard enough, but the trio was one that caught attention. Attention that he does not like.

One thing that he found himself often being around was the library. Or more specifically the hidden room inside the library that was quickly converted into a base for the three. It did have all the accommodation that a person would need. The place was even fitted with its own kitchen and bathrooms with a shower and bath. People could live inside this place without issue.

The base was also equipped with several different rooms, including bedrooms. Anna quickly moved from her tiny little cubby of a room to the secret base. Bryson concluded that she was essentially the club's on-site security now. Though Anna felt as though that title meant she was just an elevated guard dog.

Still, she readily accepted the upgrade and moved into the place. Orchid even gave her full access to staying here after school even before Anna could make a request for it. The place was bigger than Anna's home and the beds were far softer than hers. It was an upgrade in luxury that Anna never expected.

Bryson and Reynard even helped move her things in. Which was actually very easy considering all she packed was a small suitcase worth of items. It was honestly a bit sad looking, and Anna couldn't help but burn with embarrassment seeing the look of pity she received.

Besides the upgrade for Anna, this place also became a decent enough hangout place for them after school. Being next to the library meant that it was easy to pick up any study material given to them by the teachers. More importantly, the amenities that it offered made it actually fun to hang out.

So for the last few days, that's what the place was used for. Though this base was not the most secret once discovered and was looked upon by others with jealous eyes. Not that any of the students could do anything about it, unless something drastic happened then those three had claim to the place.

Anna might be easy to be bullied out of the place, but a Coldwater and even worse, an Alvidor were far more difficult. Even the older students would rather not try their luck by pushing their seniority on them. They found it, and for now, it was theirs.

Besides simply hanging about with one another after class and studying down here, they were also trying to prepare themselves for the prophecy to come. Heroes will come and deal with several calamities within the school, the best they could do was at least prepare for the outcome.

With the permission of Orchid they were also allowed to inform a few others. Namely people like Sable and Mallory. Family and those who could be trusted and needed to have the information in case something does occur. Orchid also informed them that a few other students and staff were informed of the events.

Information on details was still kept tight-lipped. The fact that there was likely at least one traitor infiltrated inside the school made it hard to trust everyone at the place. Even Bryson and the others didn't know who was even made aware of the prophecy to keep things as secretive as possible. There was a good chance that there were people who were aware of the prophecy due to their positions and listening to hearsay.

The prophecy caused some worry for Sable. She already knew her idiot of a brother had been involved with several shenanigans over the years. Even helping her through sickness, she had a feeling that Bryson was a part of this, which meant more issues for him. As the debated older sibling she needed to make sure Bryson didn't do something stupid and die.

On the last school day of the first week, Bryson and the other two sat down for lunch, a small commotion was taking place. Thankfully it didn't involve Bryson and he was on the other side of the cafeteria, but Bryson began to think that it may very soon be.

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

The commotion from what Bryson could see and hear, involved his Wrabruthian native and pain in the side, Frans Snowfield. His specially tailored school uniform was currently covered with chowder as he fumed over a student who was on the ground, head bowed low.

Bryson was originally going to turn his back down to focus on his meal when Reynard got up from his seat. Bryson gave a tired look towards Reynard as he began to head over to Frans.

"Where do you think you're going?" Bryson asked between bites.

"I'm seeing what Frans is doing." Reynard said.

"Who cares about Snowfield? How do you even know who he- oh right yeah." Bryson said, recalling the time they were on the ice.

Anna watching Reynard leave decided to follow one of her only friends at this place. She then thought to herself, could she really call a prince her friend? What about the son of a duke? She enjoyed being with them, and Reynard seemed to like her enough. Bryson she wasn't too sure how he felt about anyone really.

Either way, it didn't feel right to let Reynard go off on his own. Bryson annoyed as he watched Anna follow behind Reynard. Staring at his half-finished meal he decided that he could always get something to eat after school and begrudgingly got up from his seat.

As they got closer to the group, more details of the situation became clear. Obviously, this student wound up spilling their meal all over Frans and was now taking his full ire because of it. But there seemed to be a bit more to it. There were a couple of students in the front of the crowd laughing and pointing at the student on the ground.

It felt a lot more vicious compared to the other students who were amused by the fiasco. Maybe they had a personal grudge with this student and it was their lucky day. Bryson then looked at how much of Frans was covered with that much spilled food and had his doubts.

They would be pretty lucky to get front-row seats for something that randomly happened. Bryson thought as he looked over to the student kneeling. They weren't anything visually special. The same basic school uniform, no special markings.

The student did have a hat on, which was different from how most other students dressed. It was uniform appropriate, a school flat cap that seemed a little large on their head, tufts of blond hair stuck out of it. They were on the thinner side and the boy's uniform seemed a size too big for them.

"You really expect me to believe this was all an accident, huh?" Frans seethed, "Do you expect me to believe such garbage?"

"It's the truth, it was all an accident!" The student cried desperately, quivering under his gaze. Their voice was feminine. Bryson tilted his head in curiosity as he was able to now see the student's face. She was a girl in a hybrid uniform. The shoes and undershirt are for women, but the jacket and pants are for men.

It was an interesting fashion style that took extra effort to accomplish, being only able to buy the uniforms in full sets, she would need to double up on clothing. Looking at her some more, she actually had some custom-made accessories, from buttons to stitching. What a curious girl.

She was definitely someone with a bit of spendable cash available to her, though Bryson had no idea who she was. Getting back to the commotion, Frans was unimpressed with the girl's apologies.

"I don't know what backwater county you came from but you do not do this to me." Frans shouted.

"I'm sorry, I can clean it!" She said quickly, looking scared as her eyes momentarily darted to the two snickering students before looking back up to Frans.

"I don't want you to clean it, I want you to pay."

"I have money." She said quickly.

"Not with money. This isn't something you just buy your way out."

"It was an accident!"

"This is an accident?" Frans said pointing at the chowder dripping from his head, "No, you are going to properly pay for this."

"You know, I don't usually agree with Snowfield. But he is right to be angry." Bryson grumbled out next to Reynard.

"Yeah… but it feels like this was targeted?" Reynard said frowning as he tried to figure out what to make of this situation.

"For who?"

"Both?"

"It looks like she's being bullied." Anna said looking at the two students that seemed suspiciously linked to everything.

"But why target a Marquess family? It feels like a bad idea."

"Well they either think that they can get away with it undetected or…" Bryson paused as he noticed the crowd part away for a new student joining in.

She was a tall, stunning girl with a dashing mix of long gold and bubble-gum hair. On her face was a very confident smile and while Bryson didn't recognize who she was, he recognized those familiar facial features and that stupid earring. This was a child of the Hayes family. Duke Hayes' family.

"Or?" Anna said taken aback by the beauty and presence that this newcomer had.

"Or they have someone higher on the pecking order." Bryson said as he suddenly found himself very interested with what was about to occur.
