As Florence sorted the last items in her bag she couldn't help but take a breath of hesitation. This was it, she was leaving on the afternoon airship to the capital of the world. The Coldwater family had offered to teleport her there directly but she preferred the more scenic route of the airship.
She would never admit it to Bryson out loud for fear of his snide comments, but ever since she had first ridden on one of those things she had grown fond of the view from up high. Sure she had climbed trees the size of multi-story buildings and mountains, but something about being in the air flying was different.
As she carried her bags out the door she thought of what she would do when she finally landed. Opening the door she was surprised to see Lila Frost standing at the doorway waiting for her.
"I'm here to show you to the car." Lila answered the blank-faced Florence who had blinked in surprise. Lila had gotten good at telling the minute details that Florence displayed over the years.
"What about Bryson? Shouldn't you be serving him?"
"I am. He told me to get you, he's waiting outside to see you off." Lila said before cracking a smile seeing Florence's reaction, "He's not joining you on the car ride over however."
"I know that." Florence said perhaps a little too quickly. Her eyes narrowed ever so slightly as she realized that she was being teased with, "Let's go." She said as she briskly began to walk away.
The two descended the stairs and out to the manor and were greeted out in the front with a car and Bryson Coldwater standing next to it. Seeing them arrive he motioned for the driver to open the door for Florence as she made her way next to him.
"Lord Bryson." Florence said in greeting as she noticed another car parked further away.
"Hmm?" Bryson said looking to where she was, "Oh, yes The Academy has sent a representative over to explain some things and take stock of me or something. I figured I may as well see that you have a good ride to the airport."
"Thank you Lord Bryson. I look forward to seeing you again come the fall." Florence said giving Bryson a happy smile.
Bryson paused for a second before giving a quick cough, "Only if you're lucky and I remember in my free time." He said quickly as Florence entered the car. Before he could close the door for her his mother appeared out of nowhere behind him.
"Bryson, go ahead and say hello to the representative please. Say goodbye to Florence before you do."
"Right." Bryson said before nodding goodbye to Florence and walked off.
"Florence." Duchess Coldwater said sweetly as she enjoyed seeing Florence watch as Bryson left.
"Yes Your Grace?"

"Here, a gift, a Communicator just for you. I already gave you one of my personal numbers, feel free to talk to me whenever." Duchess Coldwater said handing her a newly bought Communicator inside a neatly wrapped box.
"Oh, thank you, Your Grace." Florence said accepting the gift as she looked back at her, "Thank you for everything. I will not disappoint you."
"Take care, and make sure to take good care of my boy when you see him again." Duchess Coldwater said with a soft smile, "He needs support through his school years so stay with him."
"I will." She said with a nod as Duchess Coldwater closed the door for her and she was driven away.
Bryson on the other hand now had to divert his attention towards this person who came from the capital of the country. After asking a few servants he was guided to the right place. Sitting in one of the garden gazebos was a tall and slender woman casually sipping tea.
While Bryson approached the first thing he noticed about her was a stereotypical-looking witch's hat that was shaded a lovely purple. She had a fair face and seemed to enjoy the refreshments offered to her. Currently attending her was one of the younger male servants who looked rather bashful being near her.
This representative definitely gave off a vibe of a mature woman, though she looked only to be a few years older than Viola. What was most interesting about her wasn't her physical appearance however it was the magic, or lack thereof that Bryson could see and sense.
It was different than someone who lacked any magical ability, it was more akin to some of the veteran knights, or Phillip, or his parents. It was mana that was actively being suppressed, how much of it was being suppressed Bryson didn't know. But the fact that she was suppressing it at all meant that she was someone of note.
As Bryson reached the gazebo the lady slowly turned her chair to see him face-to-face. "You must be Lord Bryson." She greeted politely.
"I hope you didn't have to wait long."
"Not long at all, besides this charming boy here kept me plenty of company." She said in a teasing manner which caused the servant to blush.
"Right, so what is it that required you to meet me in person?" Bryson asked.
"Straight to business, good." The lady said getting up from her chair and momentarily taking her hat off to give a little flourish of a greeting, "I'm Orchid Falls and I will be your homeroom teacher for your entire school year, lest something happens of course."
"Do you do this for every student?" Bryson asked with a frown.
"No, I usually have others do it for me, but I make exceptions for the ones that pique my interest."
"I pique your interest?"
"Well you, your sister, and Frans Snowfield."
"Snowfield's in my class?" Bryson said looking visibly deflated.
"He had the same reaction as you." Orchid said with a giggle, "Now I am here mainly to help you choose your course table." She said as she pulled out a binder, "Come sit down and select some classes."
"That's all? Couldn't I do this in my own time?"
"I recommend you do." She said nodding her head, "I'm just here to explain a few of the classes and answer any of your questions, well that and judge your character."
"Are you supposed to say that part out loud?"
"Depends on if I want to or not, and you Lord Bryson Coldwater are an interesting one. I wonder why you chose to come to the Academy?"
"My eldest brother is likely to be the heir, my other one is off to venture the world my eldest sister is running businesses overseas. It was thought best for me to increase my magical prowess." Bryson answered as he felt Sable arrive at the gazebo. His ability to tell different people apart through mana had increased.
"Why are you here?" Sable asked looking at Bryson in surprise.
"To speak to the representative, wait are we doing this at the same time? Shouldn't this be a bit more private?" Bryson asked Orchid.
"Oops, caught me. Yes, considering you two are siblings I thought it would be best to talk to you together, after all The Academy is a place where you should get to know others quickly." Orchid said as she beckoned for Sable to sit, "Trust me, you both want to listen to this together."
