"Uhh…deal with it the way you best see fit." I responded, not really knowing what that would mean, let alone what punishments could be dished out.
I watched curiously as she half bowed to my door then turned abruptly, her right hand moving quickly. I saw the sword appear in her hand, only to vanish a moment later as she completed her full turn, now facing my door. She half bowed again, and my mouth fell open as I saw the look of shock frozen on Wang Jun's head as it slid off his neck. It hit the ground at the same time blood gushed out of his neck, a moment before his body fell to the floor.
"Senior Sister, Wang Jun, has been executed for the following list of crimes. Harassment. Harassment of female disciples. Harassment of an inner sect core disciple. Theft. Theft from one's own disciples. Intellectual theft of one's own department disciple's work. Attempted theft of a senior's intellectual property. Terrorist acts against the ship. Conspiring with a direct disciple to commit terrorist acts against an honoured guest. Badgering an honoured guest. Slandering an honoured guest. Threats. Threatening an honoured guest. Threatening a senior sister."
She paused there and looked down at her hand like she was trying to remember something before giving a shrug and continuing to talk.
"There are many others, but I am sure you get the picture, in accordance with the laws of the void walking sect. I, Inner sect outer courtyard disciple, Itshu Biyu, have acted in my capacity as elder and head of the disciplinary department of the outer sect ship Lazarus. I have also taken into consideration the most offended parties' opinion on punishments, and have decided the most appropriate punishment for all the crimes the guilty has committed is immediate death! With your authority, senior sister Kenna Mackenzie, I have carried out the punishment!"
She immediately did a half bow and remained in that position, not moving a muscle. I stood on the opiate side of the door, staring in shock at what had happened, I hadn't moved a muscle since she killed the man. Sure he was annoying but did she really have to kill him. At least that's what I thought until she said he harassed female disciples, and I instantly wanted the scums head. Only to glance down at his head by the wall and almost throw up.
My eyes shifted back to the woman who was still bowing to the door and still hadn't moved a muscle. My eyes slowly narrowed as I began to wonder what she was waiting for now.
"My authority?" I asked, feeling confused, this had stuck out to me the most. I couldn't stop myself from asking as my brain still tried to process that I had just seen a man die who was moments ago making demands of me.
"Well, yes. As an inner sect disciple of the core courtyard, you have the authority to approve and oversee any punishments the outer sect disciplinary department carries out. Even to those from the inner sect outer courtyard." She responded as if this was normal and explained this to me while still bowing.
"Why are you still bowing?" I suddenly asked, I was slowly getting over my shock.
"Because, senior sister, you haven't acknowledged that my duty was carried out under your authority, yet." she responded simply.
"Uh, how much trouble could I get into if someone else disapproved of his death or something?" I asked hesitantly, not wanting to get into the kind of trouble that could get me killed.
"None!" came a deep booming voice that almost made me leap out of my skin and I began moving around trying to see the person that was down the hallway somewhere.
I didn't have to wait long, before he stopped in front of my door and turned to face it. He was a tall man with a muscular body that looked like he went to the gym twice a day just for fun after he had done his workout, and yet still made it look athletic and sleek. His hair was long ginger hair that almost shined like fire was somehow involved in its colouring.
"Would you be so kind as to hurry up and acknowledge this poor girl's duty so she may flee from my aurora like the mouse she is trying her hardest not to be." he said slowly as he looked sideways at her.
"Uh, yes, thank you for carrying out your duty." I said before turning back to look at him as I frowned. "And you are?"

"I am Michael Jamerson." he said simply, almost like I should know the name. He then glanced at the woman next to him, who had stood up but not moved away.
I glanced at her and saw her face had drained of all colour, and she stood there, almost like she feared drawing his attention in any way and had decided pretending to be a statue was the safest option.
"Right" I drawled as I slowly turned my attention back to him before continuing. "What did you do to her? Turn her to stone like medusa?"
"I have done nothing of the sort, like most people in our sect she probably knows who I am and is terrified to breathe the wrong way in case it somehow offends me. To be honest, it is annoying to observe, but no matter where I go, I can't seem to get it to stop." he said while observing her.
After a few moments he turned back to the door and frowned as he looked it over then focused on the dead centre and waved his hand at the door.
"Turn transparent, authorisation core elder Michael Jamerson." he stated at the door, only for his and Itshu Biyu's eyes to both shift and lock onto me.
"Ah, that is better, I hate talking to a door, It's so much better to talk to the person even if there is a door hidden between us." he said to me with a smile on his face.
I glanced at Itshu Biyu and after a moment of observing her I was ready to swear on a stack of bibles she had passed out and somehow managed to remain standing.
"Right" I said slowly before turning my attention back to him. "And what brings someone as important as you, whose mere presence sends an inner sect disciple like Itshu Biyu here into a catatonic state?" I asked with a fair bit of confusion in my voice.
"Oh, did no one tell you?" He asked as he turned his head to look at Itshu Biyu before turning his head to look in the direction of the bridge.
"Tell me what?"
"When my brother went undercover into the galactic federation, he left behind a ring and made me promise him to never take a disciple until the ring either found its way back to his own hand. Or one of his kin put it on. You have worn the ring, you are his descendant and I have come to fulfil my promise by accepting you, who is also my kin, as my very first disciple." He stated in a tone that sounded like what he said should have been obvious and everyone knew it.
I saw Itshu Biyu's head snap around to stare at him as her mouth fell open, and her eyes widened. Before turning slowly to look at me before a look of envy crossed it. However, it was quickly replaced by confusion, then she frowned.
"Senior sister, Kenna. Quickly bow low and say, 'this disciple greets her master.' It's tradition, and you really want to accept it. Everyone wants to be taken in by Void Walking Elder Michael Jamerson. He is an elder of the entire sect, there are only five, and a disciples' status can only be higher if the patriarch herself takes a disciple." She tried to whisper but ended up mostly yelling at me.
We were both staring at her now as she almost hyperventilated, and I thought she looked like she was on the verge of passing out again. My eyes slowly moved back to him. Itshu Biyu's actions were making it very clear that this was a very big thing, I felt like she was trying to smack me over the head with a city building just to get her point across.
"so, you're some sort of big wig?" I asked as I watched his face.
He was still watching Itshu Biyu as he frowned softly, he turned his head looking back at me and rolled his shoulders indifferently before he replied to my question.
"I don't really go into that sort of thing, I am an elder of the sect simply because I managed to reach the Immortal Nascent realm and an elder position happened to be vacant."
He shrugged, appearing to be trying to play this off as a small matter that wasn't important in the slightest. He paused as if he was considering something before continuing.
"The sect is a very big place with many ships, but it is still a sect, and while many people over the centuries have asked or even tried to force their way to my side. I have not cared or even bothered to play their games. My own cultivation has always been more significant to me than the game of politics or whatever gets people so worked up over being next to me. And most importantly of all, none of them was a star hawk."
The last two words caught my attention, and I narrowed my eyes, wondering what he meant by them. After running a few hypotheses through my mind and coming up blank, I decided to just ask him directly.
"What do you mean… none of them was a star hawk?"
"Exactly that, I am a star hawk. Part of becoming an elder is we take an oath, our first disciple must be the same gene as ourselves. Star hawks are so rare that I have never bothered looking for one."
"Will you hurry up and bow!" Itshu Biyu suddenly screeched out of nowhere.
We both turned to look at her, not saying anything as we both observed her for a few moments before turning back to look at each other and deciding without communicating it that we were going to simply ignore her.
"So you came from who knows where all the way to this ship just because I put on the ring and decided to take me as your disciple because I had the same gene as you, is that correct?"
"not exactly but close enough, it's more your ship came to me. I am also accepting you as a disciple because you are kin and the only one still alive and not in the galactic federation."
"Aaah, I see, you have rushed to protect me from…" I trailed off as I looked down at the body of Wang Jun that was now laying in a pool of his own blood. "People that would try to take advantage of my naivete, such as the late Wang Jun here."
"I would have preferred it said a little nicer, but that is it in a nutshell, even if it is not entirely accurate. Yes, I am here to protect you from the scum in our sect that like to take advantage of our disciples. You are the first Star Hawk I have found, not that I have been looking, but most importantly you are the descendant of my brother.… Does Theodore Mackenzie still live?"
"I, uh… to be honest, I only recently found out my father was older than 40… I don't really know how many people are in my family or if any of them would know, I'm sorry… I don't know." I said nervously.
He gave me a sad smile before he nodded his head and then waved his hand to indicate we should move on from this subject that was clearly bringing him pain.
"Do you have any other questions, or would you like to open the door and perform the traditional bow and welcome before serving tea?"
