Chapter 70 Assassination (Part 1)

The silent outer space of Biekelan Planet was filled with countless warships gliding silently like fish in the deep sea, crossing paths in the colorful starlight. If it weren't for the fireworks-like energy cannon fire that erupted sporadically, no one would believe that this was a battlefield madly reaping lives.

In such a battlefield, the only sensation one could feel was endless shock.

Warships blotting out the sky and the sun sailed continuously overhead, beside, and beneath, their massive steel bodies adorned with menacing main cannons and swiftly rotating secondary cannons, which glowed intermittently at different speeds, shooting deathly beams in all directions.

The space fighters, swirling and dancing, resembled waves of relentless locusts, taking off from their formations and pouncing on the enemy, weaving dizzying flight paths through enemy lines, launching attack after attack on targets until they disintegrated and broke apart, scattering into various sizes of debris.

In this starry sky, the fiercer the light, the fiercer the battle. The flashing of energy cannons and energy shields, the swift motion of the space fighters, and the heavily scarred warships formed a series of brutal scenes.

Under the glow of the energy shields of some warships, dense clusters of repair robots swarmed over damaged parts like bees, busily trying to repair the armor or other damaged equipment, even though they knew such repairs were mostly futile...

This space battle concerning the entire Little Pyrenees had been ongoing for nearly six hours. Both sides had thrown in their last reserves. No matter how brutal or costly, they could only hold on.

Both Hall and Fiscella adopted the same strategy: concentrate superior forces to attack the opponent's weakest point, breaking through to form an advantage, using that advantage to secure victory, and letting that victory sweep over the entire battlefield.

Now, they were both sustaining and devouring. The battle's focus converged on the Expeditionary Army's First Mixed Fleet and the Desic 12th and 7th Mixed Fleets, which were besieged by the enemy. Whoever faltered first would face total collapse.

A Feiyang Fighter quickly swept past a Desic Battleship, nimbly dodging the thick energy cannon fire, finally rolling under the battleship's belly and evading the rotating turret's tracking fire.

This battleship was already the outermost one among this group of Desic Battleships.

The five ion engine nozzles on the X-shaped tail of the Feiyang Fighter suddenly emitted a bright blue glow, its streamlined body tracing a spiraling arc in space, swiftly shooting into the formation of the First Mixed Fleet. With a graceful spin, like a leaf in the wind, it drifted into the recovery bay of the "Poseidon" Space Carrier.

In the command room of Poseidon's bridge, Fiscella sat calmly in the command chair, leisurely watching the rolling real-time reports on the central control screen. Despite losing nearly one-fifth of its warships under the enemy's four-fleet siege, the defensive formation of the Expeditionary Army First Fleet remained tight.

At the start of the battle, the strong technological, economic, and military power of the Feiyang Republic forged an iron fleet that, with one thrust, completely broke through the frontal blockade of the Desic 12th Fleet, escaping the attack range of the three Desic reinforcements emerging from behind.

Fiscella was quite satisfied; it was a resolute breakthrough and an unblemished victory, even though a few giant transport ships were lost. Those transport ships were originally intended as sacrificial bait.

Fiscella believed that if it weren't for the three Desic fleets quickly outflanking upon seeing the unfavorable situation, the 12th Fleet would have collapsed in a single encounter.

This was the first large-scale frontal battle between the Feiyang Republic and the Desic Empire in hundreds of years. Despite Hall deploying all his available forces and the Desic unexpectedly gambling lives to launch a stunningly shocking jump advance, the Desic still underestimated the military strength of the Feiyang Republic.

Unlike the Desic Empire, which had been dictatorial for hundreds of years, complacently dominating a corner in the southeast, breeding a large group of decadent nobles among small nations, the Feiyang Republic had never stopped advancing for thousands of years, whether in economy or military.

This strength, accumulated over time, had seeped into the bones of the Feiyang Army. This was the confidence of the world's first superpower that had dominated for centuries!

At this moment, the Expeditionary Army First Fleet was utilizing faster ship speeds and a more rapid command coordination system compared to the Desic Empire Fleet, maneuvering between the four enemy fleets. The advanced energy shields and armor defense systems of the Feiyang Battleships gave the First Fleet the composure to maneuver and strike sharply amidst the meteoric bombardments.

The battle was gradually entering Fiscella's rhythm.

When the four enemy fleets converged, the First Fleet used its speed to disengage. When the enemy fleets spread out to encircle, the First Fleet did not mind skirmishing with one segment. In a one-on-one situation, no Desic fleet could match the First Fleet!

A flash of blue light flickered outside the bridge, and the giant body of Poseidon slightly trembled. Several yellow lights lit up on the central control panel. This was the result of the carrier being hit by the enemy's main cannon-level energy fire. Yellow signal lights indicating minor damage that could be repaired with some time before the energy shield was breached.
