I raised my hand and moved it towards the finger bone that was on the pedestal.

While this was happening, I was channeling all of the mana that I had into my hand to resist the aura of death that was coming from the finger bone.

But even with all of this mana, it really didn't seem like it was enough to keep the aura of death from affecting me. It seemed like it was still breaking through the layer of mana that I wrapped my hand around.

This aura of death had this small corrosion effect on me that seemed to break down the bone that made up my hand, but I was able to regenerate with the mana that I gathered.

With the mana that I had, it was enough to stop the corroding effect from actually hurting me.

But this was even before I touched the finger bone.

There was no doubt that this effect would be even stronger when I made contact with the finger bone.

So I was prepared to toss this finger bone into my spatial storage the moment that I grabbed it. I didn't want to waste a single second holding onto the finger bone for longer than I had to.

Though I was also worried that this finger bone would corrode the other things that I had in my spatial storage…

For now, taking this finger bone was the most important thing.

Taking a deep breath, I didn't waste a single second as I suddenly grabbed the finger bone.

But before I could actually do anything with it, I was surprised to find a notification appear in front of me.

[Forced class change will be undertaken.]

Before I could react to what the system had suddenly said, the finger bone seemed to melt away. It was as if there was some kind of strange force that had broken down this finger bone until it was nothing but a wisp of energy.

After that finger bone was broken down into energy, that energy seemed to float there in the air for a few seconds before suddenly coming at me.

It didn't come for my chest or my head as one would expect, rather it came right for my finger.

It seemed that it was coming for the exact finger that the finger bone had been for.

Once it came to that finger, there was no resistance at all as my finger absorbed that wisp of energy.

Once that wisp of energy was absorbed, it seemed like it was over.

There wasn't a single trace of the finger bone left once the wisp of energy was absorbed by me.

The only thing that changed were the notifications that I received.

"Congratulations on changing to the Unique Class Immortal One. As a reward, two new avatars have been granted."

A unique class…this was definitely not something that I had been expecting to see.

Unique classes were classes like the hero or the demon king since there would only be one of those in the world at once. To change into a unique class, one had to kill the one that had that class before they could change into it.

Since I had inherited this from the Immortal King's finger bone…one would think that this was the class that the Immortal King had when he was still alive.

It should also be the reason that the Immortal King was so strong.

A unique class was considered unique for a reason.

The hero and the demon king were the main characters of this world, so there was no need to doubt the kind of power that the two of them possessed. After all, one could only be the main character if they possessed that kind of power.

For the Immortal King that had forced the entire continent to band against him, he was certainly on the same level as those two.

"But why would it suddenly give me a unique class like this? I've never heard of something like this…" I couldn't help muttering to myself in a confused voice.

After all, this really wasn't something that had ever been discovered in the game before.

There were plenty of people that had discovered things like pieces of the Immortal King since that was quite a common event…or at least in terms of the game. The game would lead players to things like this that would excite them after all.

It was just that there was no one that had ever mentioned something like this before…

"I'm sure that there have been lich players that have found a piece of a the Immortal King before, so why is it different for me?"

The more that I thought about it, the more confused I was about this.

But in the end…

"This is the game world come to life, perhaps there's something different about this world?"

This was a thought that I had for a long time now, so it wasn't as if this was the first difference that I had noticed. The other differences felt like it was nothing more than things that had never been discovered before.

But a unique class was just too big for the other players of this game to have missed.

There was no doubt that someone would have discovered this in the past…

So for not a single trace of this to have been mentioned on the web…

"Just what is this place?"

I've never taken the time to just stop and ponder this question before.

For a gamer like me, it was a dream come true to come to a game world like this and I didn't have the time to think about it.

But now that the cracks have started to appear…

"Perhaps there is more to this."

In the end, there was nothing that I could do about this since I didn't even know where to start looking for the answers.

So instead, I looked at what came with the unique class that I gained.
