The Church Authority Country is located in the central part of the Mireya Continent, on the Yonette Peninsula within the Moon God Inner Sea, also marking the southern part of the West Yonette Empire.
Charlotte has seen the map of the Western Yonette region. If she were to make a comparison, the position of the Falling Star Kingdom closely resembles Britain on Blue Star, while the position of the New Moon Peninsula is somewhat akin to the Iberian Peninsula combined with France. The Yonette Peninsula, where the Church Authority Country lies, looks like an enlarged version of the Apennine Peninsula.
There are generally three routes to travel from the Falling Star Kingdom to the Church Authority Country.
The first one is to pass through the Castel Domain, detour the Northern Territory to Eastern Yonette Black Land, then head south through the Coria Kingdom, afterward, turn west back to the West Yonette Empire, crossing a small portion of the empire before reaching the Church Authority Country.
The second route is a sea-land detour around the New Moon Peninsula, passing through the Moon God Strait into the Moon God Inner Sea, then land at the Moon God Coast City States on the Yonette Peninsula, then enter the West Yonette Empire, head north directly to the empire's southern Church Authority Country.
The third option is to directly cross through the New Moon Kingdom, go by land into the West Yonette Empire, and then directly reach the Church Authority Country.
Of these three routes, the third one is the shortest, the first one is the longest, and the second one requires traversing a substantial section of the sea route.
Of course, since this journey is at the invitation of the Church Authority Country, one can make use of the Holy Royal Court's exclusive Teleportation Array within each country along the way, thus ensuring timely arrival at the destination regardless of which route is taken.
Considering the relationship between the New Moon Kingdom and the Falling Star Kingdom, Charlotte naturally wouldn't adopt the third route. Additionally, she plans to visit the Moon God Coast City States to explore the local Ancient Divine Palace and the Faceless Divine Statue, thus naturally choosing the second route.
As for the first route... she plans to take it during the return trip.
The second route is also a maritime trade route between the Falling Star Kingdom, the Moon God Coast City States, and the West Yonette Empire.
Though unable to use the Teleportation Array, it avoids many potential land route troubles and social obligations. The only risk is the activities of some Southern Continent pirates within the Moon God Inner Sea.
Of course, for the Falling Star Kingdom, a maritime powerhouse on the Mireya Continent, these ordinary merchant ships' troubling "Southern Barbarian" pirates naturally can't stir much of a storm.
Charlotte departed from Falling Star Port, boarding the Roman, the flagship of the Falling Star Kingdom's Royal Family, and set sail under the escort of the Falling Star Navy.
The grand fleet bypassed the New Moon Peninsula, crossed through the Moon God Strait dividing Mireya's main continent and the southern subcontinent, and then entered the largest inner sea of Mireya, the Moon God Sea.
Perhaps due to choosing the sea route, this journey encountered no significant issues, going smoothly and peacefully.
The only incident was meeting pirates once along the way.
Naturally, upon catching sight of the Falling Star Fleet's imposing Carack, those southern pirates, who typically terrify merchant ships and trade groups, readily fled.
Usually, they only bully merchant ships. For these pirates, nobody's foolish enough to actually attack a fleet loaded with Magic Crystal Cannons.
Charlotte felt a bit regretful.
Life on the ship proved to be too dull; she was still wondering if she might stumble upon and destroy one or two pirate dens along the way.
When the prosperous port of the Moon God Coast City States came into Charlotte's view, it had already been a month since departure.
The Moon God Coast City States lie on the western coast of the Yonette Peninsula, facing the New Moon Kingdom across the sea, also serving as the southern gateway into the West Yonette Empire.
Historically, this area was also under the rule of the Yonette Empire, and it was even part of the affluent southern region of the empire.
Later, as the Yonette Empire fragmented, it became part of the West Yonette Empire.
For centuries, as West Yonette Empire's imperial authority waned, and in a bid to strengthen the papal power while suppressing the empire's royal authority, the Church Authority Country allied with the New Moon Kingdom and supported an independence movement in the empire's south about three hundred years ago.
Since then, numerous southern states of the West Yonette Empire have completely divided. Among them, although some states and city-states still nominally belong to the West Yonette Empire, in reality, they have become vassals of the Church Authority Country. Others formed the Moon God Coast City States and completely gained independence from the West Yonette Empire.
From that time onwards, the Church Authority Country achieved substantial control over the West Yonette Empire, although nominally part of the empire, the royal authority became subordinate to the papal authority.
In the ensuing centuries, West Yonette Empire's history became a power struggle between the Church Authority Country and the empire's emperor.
To this day, although the control of the Church Authority Country over the West Yonette Empire has waned with the decline of the Holy Royal Court, it can still sway imperial affairs.
For centuries, in order to gain more leverage in the power struggle against the imperial family, the Church Authority Country never abandoned efforts to include the southern Moon God Coast City States as its vassals.
However, owing to the constraints from the New Moon Kingdom and the Coria Kingdom, these efforts haven't yet been realized.
Nonetheless, the Moon God Coast City States remain the area where the Holy Royal Court's influence is strongest. As part of the Central Diocese, the region is dotted with churches and numerous believers, serving as a major source of religious tax revenue for the Holy Royal Court.
The Moon God Coast City States are not large, roughly equivalent to 1.5 Castel Domains, merely covering 180,000 square kilometers, comprised of eleven city-states, four Earldoms, and two small duchies.
However, the population is nearly twice that of the Castel Domain, approaching ten million.
Unlike other major countries on the Mireya Continent, the Moon God Coast city-states practice a noble republic system, wherein the Senate is elected from seventeen constituent states, electing the Chief Governor from the ruling families of these seventeen clans.
The landing location for Charlotte is the capital of the Moon God Coast city-states, the largest trade center in the southern part of the Yonette Peninsula, and also the largest state of the Moon God Coast city-states—Catalia City.
Catalia City is a bustling port city, no less lively than North Port.
As the majestic Falling Star Fleet sailed into the deep water port of Catalia, the Senate of the city-states and the Holy Royal Court had already sent envoys to wait at the port.
"Honored Falling Star Queen, Saintess of the Royal Court, Castel Majesty, Great Priest Alberto of Catalia, Third Governor Juliano Di Piazza of the Coastal City State, welcome to you."
On the dock, the city-state Great Priest, dressed in white clergy robes, and the city-state nobles in splendid noble attire bowed respectfully to Charlotte.
The Great Priest of Catalia is an elderly priest, while the representative Third Governor of the Moon God Coast city-states appears to be a forty-something dark-haired noble.
The welcome for Charlotte, the far-traveled Falling Star Queen, was enthusiastic, and the envoy group's lineup filled the entire dock.
The Falling Star Kingdom is considered one of the top five strong nations on the Mireya Continent. In the early stages of the Star Moon War, it was even the continent's strongest nation. Even though it has declined in recent years, it remains influential on the continent.
Moreover, with Charlotte's status as a Saintess and the trade relations between the Falling Star and Moon God Coast city-states, she was enthusiastically welcomed in this religiously rich city-state.
"Majesty Castel, Chief Governor Canossa and Great Priest Calabreta of the Church have prepared a banquet at the City Lord's mansion, awaiting your arrival."
The Third Governor Juliano warmly stated.
Charlotte slightly nodded back, extending a gentle smile:
"Thank you, Lord Canossa and Lord Calabreta, for your hospitality. It is an honor to be here in the Moon God Coast city-states."
"Majesty Castel, please."
The envoy of the Moon God Coast city-states gestured welcomingly.
Charlotte nodded and gracefully boarded the splendid carriage prepared by the city-state, and then, escorted by knights and city-state guards, majestically entered Catalia City.
When Charlotte arrived at the City Lord's mansion, the nobles of the Moon God Coast city-states were already there waiting.
Charlotte had attended numerous noble welcoming banquets, and was quite accustomed to them.
However, compared to the nobles of the New Moon Peninsula, the banquets of the Moon God Coast city-states were grander, with more abundant delicacies.
On the Mireya Continent, the cuisine of the Moon God Coast city-states is quite famous. By comparison, that of the Falling Star Kingdom is relatively plain.
Here, Charlotte also met the rulers of the Moon God Coast city-states, Chief Governor Catherine Di Canossa, and the highest-ranking clergy, Great Priest Calabreta.
Catherine Di Canossa appears to be a young woman in her twenties, but Charlotte, having perused the relevant documents in advance, knows she is at least fifty.
The reason she appears young is because she bears the blood of the elves, being a Half-Elf.
Furthermore, this Chief Governor of the Moon God Coast city-states is also a powerful Transcendent, nearly legendary, having reached Blazing Sun Peak strength.
As for the representative of the Holy Royal Court, Great Priest Calabreta, their strength surpasses even that of Chief Governor Catherine.
This seemingly white-haired elder, although with a subdued aura, Charlotte could distinctly sense the dazzling Holy Power within him, its strength comparable to the Diocesan Grand Priest Charles de Lorraine of the New Moon Diocese.
Evidently, he is a Legendary Clergy.
Perhaps because the region is close to the territories governed by the Church Authority Country.
Charlotte could sense that the clergy here are noticeably stronger than those from the New Moon Kingdom and Falling Star Kingdom, collectively at a higher overall level.
On the other hand, the aristocracy of the Moon God Coast city-states is comparatively weak in Extraordinary Power, with the strongest being Chief Governor Catherine Di Canossa.
However, what surprised Charlotte was that among the nobles attending the banquet, she also sensed a familiar aura.
The presence of vampires.
