Los Angeles Legendary Sleuth

Chapter 531: A Different Jack

Eno Community.

A Mercedes-Benz G-Class drove into the Eno Community, stopping in front of Linda's garage.

Luke got out of the car and saw his mother, Linda, standing in the yard.

"Hi, my handsome eldest son is finally back." Linda approached and kissed Luke on the cheek.

Luke laughed, "Dear Ms. Sullivan, you look younger and more beautiful than when I left. Has anyone been pursuing you recently?"

Linda shrugged, "Which one are you talking about?"

"Wow, do you need me to help you screen them?"

"No, you've already helped me out. I just told them my son is a cop... The next day, my phone was quiet, super effective."

"Ms. Sullivan, I'm sorry to affect your happiness."

"With you and Jack around, my life is fulfilling, I'm already very happy."

Luke smiled, wrapping an arm around his mom's shoulder, "Let's go inside."

"Wait a minute, Jack is about to get out of school." Linda looked towards the far end of the community road.

"Doesn't he usually get out at this time?"

"Today is different, trust me, you'll see a different Jack."

Although Luke wasn't too interested in the little chubby one's change, he stayed outside with his mom to wait.

After a few minutes, a yellow school bus stopped in front of Linda's house, and the door opened.

A person with long blonde hair, sunglasses, a crop top, and a green skirt got off the bus.

Luke was momentarily stunned, then couldn't help but laugh, "Fuck! What kind of mischief are you up to?"

Linda laughed, fishing out her phone from her pocket, "I told you, you'd see a different Jack."

The little chubby one struck a pose he thought was very charming, "Am I pretty?"

Luke scratched his head, "If you want to take a trip to Thailand, I can fund it."

"A vacation?"

"No, you know what I'm talking about."

"Never mind, I just wanted to experience a day in the life of a woman, that's all."

Luke looked slightly disgusted, "Dressing like this, even with makeup on, are you sure there's nothing wrong with your orientation?"

"No, I'm normal, Maggie is still my favorite woman." The little chubby one spread his hands and explained, "Today our school held a 'Gender Swap Day', it was arranged by the school, not just me, most students wore clothes of the opposite sex."

Luke shook his head, "Your school is really boring."

"Click..." Linda took out her phone and quickly snapped a few photos.

"Mom, what are you doing?"

"I need to record this unforgettable moment. I've always wanted a daughter, and today that dream finally came true."

"Mom, you didn't get my permission, I demand you delete those photos."

"I refuse.

I'm even going to show them to your future wife."

"Maggie saw it."

"I didn't say it was Maggie."

The little chubby one looked serious, "It must be Maggie."

"Maybe."

"It must be."

Linda shrugged, "OK, we've got a real romantic in the family."

"So, you'll delete the photos, right?"

Linda laughed, "Don't even think about it, I've already planned the gift I want you to get me with your first paycheck."

"Mom, how can you do this?"

"I can."

The little chubby one helplessly looked at Luke for help.

"Click."

Luke also took a picture, "I want a gift too."

"Ah...

The little chubby one yelled and quickly ran back into the house.

Seven o'clock in the evening.

In the dining room.

'Miss Lee,' after washing up and changing clothes, turned back into the little chubby one from before.

Luke found it much more pleasing to the eye, much cuter. If it were still the previous look, Luke wasn't sure if he could have eaten dinner.

The little chubby one pulled out a chair to sit down, looking at the food on the table, "Wow, so much seafood, even more than a buffet, bro, did you bring these back from the US Virgin Islands?"

"Most I caught myself, some I traded with other tourists."

The little chubby one countered, "Weren't you on a treasure hunt? How did you have so much time to fish?"

Luke had time to fish because he was assisting the FBI in investigating a self-defense killing on an uninhabited island, of course, he didn't want to tell his mom and brother that, so he brushed it off, "Had some issues to deal with, got delayed by two days."

Luke looked at Linda, "Mom, why aren't Grandpa and Uncle here?"

"Your Grandpa had some things to do, your Uncle has a night shift today."

Luke shrugged, "Too bad, they're missing out.

Try the fish I caught myself."

"It's my first time seeing such a big lobster." The little chubby one compared it to his small arm.

"The small ones, I just released back." Luke didn't eat seafood; instead, he scooped some potato-braised oxtail with a serving spoon. Seafood is something nice to have occasionally. In the US Virgin Islands, he had it nearly every day and it had long lost its appeal. He wanted more homely food now.

Seeing her son enjoy her cooking, Linda was also pleased, "The oxtail I bought this morning, marinated in red wine, how does it taste?"

"Very great, I can finish the whole plate myself."

Luke raised his rum glass to clink with Linda's, "Mom, thanks for the loving dinner.

This is the special rum from the US Virgin Islands, try and see how it is."

Linda took a sip, "Not bad, it has a special fruity aroma, I really like this flavor."
