North America Gunman Detective

Chapter 539: There Will Always Be People Who Take Chances

(Written upon your request as a plot, if you don't like it, criticize the previous chapter for asking to see the assassin plot. Also, I really don't have any drafts.)

Jimmy is still lying in bed, contemplating how to communicate with Charon during the day. Meanwhile, the assassin who has already escaped arrives at a repair shop. Although it is early morning, a small door remains half open here. After the assassin pushes the motorcycle into the repair shop, the door closes, and the lights go out.

The motorcycle is parked in the dismantling area. The motorcyclist takes off the helmet, revealing a brunette beauty, "Benny, clean this up." She speaks while unzipping the riding suit, heading towards the inner room.

The mechanic nearby waves his right hand, "OK, leave it to me." After speaking, he stands up and comes to the dismantling area. This motorcycle needs a cleanup and a change in the body color before it can be sold elsewhere.

The motorcyclist, still removing the riding suit while walking inward, says, "Prepare a car for me, a clean one."

Mechanic Benny responds without turning his head, "Both cars at the door are usable, the documents are in the glove box."

The motorcyclist changes clothes in the room, carrying a bag when she exits, "I'm leaving, goodbye, Benny."

Benny, busy dismantling the motorcycle, responds, "Remember to return the car, you've already driven off with two of my cars."

The beauty opens the repair shop door, gets into a sedan, starts it, and leaves. Benny listens to the increasingly distant sound, turns to glance at the door, stands up to close it again, and continues with his work.

The beauty drives to a building under construction, says a word to the security guard at the entrance, and the guard opens the gate for her to enter. The beauty starts the car to drive inside, passing the security guard and hands over two paper bills.

The security guard takes the bills, puts them in his pocket, looks around, then closes the gate and stays in the temporary security booth.

The beauty walks directly towards the interior of the building, to the door of a hidden room, and gently knocks three times. The person inside confirms the code and opens the door, putting away the handgun.

"Emily, are you ready?" The beauty closes the door as soon as she enters.

"Mrs. Perkins, are you sure we want to do this?" The woman inside the room is the same waitress Jimmy saw earlier, Emily.

Perkins: "I just went out for reconnaissance, attempting direct assassination is almost impossible; he's too vigilant. I was discovered just upon entering the living room."

Emily, upon hearing this, turns around and drags a box from the side of a cot, "Here it is, this is all the stock we can obtain currently."

She opens the box, both upper and lower layers are cut with foam boards to carve out spaces, some weapons are embedded in the foam board, for fixation and also shock absorption, preventing potential issues with the contents.

Perkins walks over, takes a glance, takes out an 11.5 short-barreled AR15, performs a simple check, pulls the charging handle, checks the scope, and places it aside on the cot, then takes out two offensive grenades, three magazines.

After clearing the lower layer, she removes the foam board, and her target lies at the bottom, the M72 LAW rocket launcher.

Emily: "Mrs. Perkins, isn't it too dangerous to use this in Manhattan? The authorities will definitely go crazy."

Perkins smiles, "Don't worry, I don't plan to use it right away; it's our trump card."

Emily: "Mrs. Perkins, can't we solve this matter normally? I remember Mr. Charon said, just one person is needed to come forward to resolve it; it doesn't cost much, many people are willing to take the blame."

Perkins doesn't respond and instead checks the M72 LAW rocket launcher, places it back in the box, and returns all other weapons to their original positions, closing the box.

She turns to look at Emily: "Is this your first official mission, remember?"

Emily nods, and Perkins continues: "If you just find someone to take the blame, your mission cannot be considered completely accomplished. Do you intend to handle tasks in this way in the future? Just an FBI agent's warning leaves you flustered?"

Emily: "We could talk to him, there are so many cases every year, one more or less doesn't matter. I'm just worried, he does have a reputation."

Perkins: "I never accept threats from others, especially from a government dog. He's at most a hound, while we are falcons soaring through the night sky."

Emily: "Then, how should we proceed after? Do we need to notify the training camp for additional personnel?"

Perkins shakes her head: "No need, he's just a federation agent, there are plenty of people here who can achieve his feats, it's not a big issue. If I didn't want to take risks, I would've dealt with him tonight. You rest for now, tomorrow morning follow and investigate his whereabouts, and in the evening we'll act. After completion, leave New York immediately, return to the training camp to complete your adult ceremony."

Emily: "Alright. You rest here, I'll set off later."

After dawn, Jimmy leaves the house to go to the FBI office. Although there's not much to do even during shifts, being here is still necessary, one must uphold a working attitude.

At noon, Jimmy chooses to walk to the Intercontinental Hotel, communicates with the front desk to confirm, asking them to call the off-duty Charon to have a chat.

Still in that reception room, Charon pours Jimmy a drink, "Mr. Yang, may I ask what brings you here this time?"
