North America Gunman Detective

Chapter 417: Draft Discard Side Story - The Alternate Dimension's Red Flames Battlefield Plot Conclusion_2

Due to a mistake, the CIA captured Sara, and thus Frank kidnapped the Vice President, demanding negotiations. Ultimately, the negotiations failed, internal strife broke out, and the operatives on site were killed by Frank's team. In the end, Jimmy, who had followed William Cooper to the scene, killed them.

The entire case involved several other operations, all of which have corresponding records, including Sara's call for help after being kidnapped by Frank, their encounter with Gabriel Singer at the airport where he was killed, the fire at the Langley building, William Cooper being assaulted in the head office, a shootout at Alexander Dunning's villa, and William Cooper's arrangement for a check at home to see if Frank threatened his family.

Furthermore, the lady killed in the hotel kitchen was identified as Victoria, a former MI6 agent. According to information provided by MI6, Victoria had retired long ago. She worked with Frank, Ivan, and others during the Cold War and had connections with them. It is speculated that Frank requested her assistance on a personal basis to devise a plan to kidnap the Vice President.

Ivan, who was killed at the scene, was discussed between the CIA and the Russian Federation Security Service. They concluded that Ivan had participated in Frank's plan on a personal capacity at Frank's request, having nothing to do with the Security Service.

In the entire case investigation, current FBI Special Agent Jimmy Yang was not involved, his only connection being the killing of three individuals at the end.

Regarding Jimmy's recent whereabouts, they have been confirmed by the Dallas office manager Lambert, Special Service Bureau's John Butler, and attendance records from the Manhattan office, proving that throughout the case, Jimmy was in New York, Dallas, Washington D.C., New York, and Chicago, while key events took place in Kansas, Virginia, Maryland, and Illinois, with no involvement or overlap in his schedule.

Following Cooper's call, Jimmy's reason for trailing him to the power plant was valid. The cases handled by Jimmy over the past six months, provided by the Manhattan, Dallas, and Little Rock offices, showed his strong investigative abilities and precise judgment of clues. Especially noteworthy is the case from the Little Rock office regarding the shooting of county police chief James, where Jimmy provided critical clues from surveillance footage in a short time and found the gunman in the hospital. Although the gunman committed suicide, it did not negate Jimmy's investigative and judgment skills.

In the inquiry over Jimmy's use of only six rounds to kill three individuals, the FBI provided two pieces of evidence: one being Jimmy's excellent firearms shooting performance upon graduation from the FBI Academy, the other his demonstration at the support troops training base, where the targets had been carefully preserved by the range manager, corroborated by testimonies of the onlooking squad members, confirming Jimmy's marksmanship, previously a rumor, and now part of the official record.

After the voluminous report was submitted to the President, the presidential committee offered a redacted version for public disclosure in the media. In contrast, the real investigation report and various evidence were sealed, to be classified for 50 years.

Jimmy was out of trouble for the time being. The Special Service Bureau returned his phone, issued firearm, and badge, and arranged for him to be flown back to New York on a special plane to his long-missed little abode.

After three months of house arrest, Jimmy finally landed safely. Since he had destroyed and hidden his unregistered communication phone in advance, there were no public records connecting him with the individuals at the scene. Combined with Jimmy's record of putting down various criminals over the years, the FBI's final conclusion was that Jimmy, being the only one at the scene, could not assure his safety and that waiting for Special Service Bureau backup would take too long, risking the suspects' escape. Thus, he had to shoot the three suspects to ensure safety and prevent all parties involved from fleeing.

The various killing records in the files and the psychological analysis reports provided a basis for judging Jimmy's actions, which he had not anticipated. Of course, it might also be that the FBI simply did not want to trouble one of their own. In this case, where the CIA was the biggest suspect, the two closely scrutinizing agencies saw an opportunity for a thorough investigation, which ultimately proved very favorable for Jimmy.

-----------------

After Jimmy returned to his apartment, he couldn't help feeling emotional as he looked at his little home; this time had been very risky.

The FBI's investigative team had already conducted a routine search of Jimmy's apartment. They had opened his safe, but fortunately, since moving, Jimmy had not stored any contraband in it. Although there was an Intercontinental Hotel Gold Coin, it was not related to the Vice President case, so they did not take it into custody.

Jimmy replaced the battery in his phone. Since the Special Service Bureau had taken his phone, he had not changed the battery, and it had been off for a while. After inserting the spare battery, regrettably, there were no missed calls or text message notifications once the phone was on. Jimmy had no idea who had tried to contact him over the past few months and had not gotten through.

He called Chris, after all, he was back and needed to go back to work. He informed them that he would rest at home for a day or two before returning to the office.

Having been under house arrest for so long, Jimmy, though back, did not feel like going out. He spent two days thoroughly cleaning his room before returning to the office.
