North America Gunman Detective

Chapter 342: 299 The first stop back to New York_3

Jimmy glanced back; the three men inside still showed no intention of coming out. They were still aiming their guns at the door, seemingly waiting for the outcome outside.

Jimmy squatted down, observing the actions of the three gunmen. They had only noticed Jimmy behind a pillar. While two of them were firing to suppress him, another was moving to the side, looking for a suitable shooting angle.

Jimmy prioritized his targets; he shot the moving man first, then took out the other two as they stopped to reload their guns.

Jimmy looked around. Besides the three men's room, there were three others inside, seemingly sitting on chairs. Why hadn't they moved?

Jimmy took out his phone to check. Fortunately, there was a signal. He watched the surveillance room and the small room as he called to dispatch patrol officers and an ambulance.

Then he ignored the two people in the surveillance room. From their reaction to the earlier gunfight, it was clear that they were excessively cautious, still not coming out to check even after the gunshots stopped.

Back at the door of the room Ruiz had entered, Jimmy stood to the side and gently pushed the door. It didn't budge, indicating it was locked from the inside. Unfortunately, Jimmy's "Heart Eye" didn't have X-ray vision to see all the details inside.

Jimmy stepped back and then charged at the door, kicking it with the force of his 100 kilogram-plus body weight, breaking one side of the door open.

Jimmy didn't rush in; instead, after kicking the door, he immediately moved to slam against the wall on the right side. He raised his right hand and shot at the position of one person on the left inside the room before they could react, hitting the mark. The other two on the right side were startled by the door's motion and immediately shot at the doorway, but their effort was futile as Jimmy was behind the same side wall as they were.

After firing five or six shots, the two men inside aimed at the doorway and slowly moved from the right toward the left, with their guns pointed at the entrance. Jimmy put his Glock back in its holster, took out a revolver, and aimed at the door. Before the men inside could appear, he moved slightly and fired, hitting one in the head. The man fell backward, crashing onto the coffee table in front of the sofa.

"I surrender, I surrender, don't shoot," the only remaining man on the right side of the room suddenly shouted, then dropped his gun and raised his hands high, although he hadn't yet seen Jimmy. The two men who had died in the room were a gruesome sight, and the killer was unseen.

"Ruiz, how are you?" Jimmy didn't enter the room but called out from the side of the door, "Ruiz, talk to me, say something."

"Cough, cough, cough, I've been shot, but I'm not dead," Ruiz spoke from the ground, his voice tinged with coughs.

"Person inside, keep your hands raised and walk out slowly, slowly."

As Jimmy shouted for the person inside to come out, the sounds of police sirens also rose outside; this was New York, the largest police force in America, and patrol officers are numerous and quick to arrive at a scene.

"Turn around, face away from me. Get down on the ground, hands up," Jimmy commanded, detaching handcuffs from his belt, and went over to cuff the man's arms behind his back.

Jimmy turned and was relieved to see the two people in the surveillance room had not left; they were lucky because things would not have ended well for them if they had decided to come out now.

Jimmy moved to Ruiz's side. He was lying on the ground, hands on his belly, his clothes soaked with blood. "It's safe now, I've already called the cops, the ambulance will be here soon, hang in there, I can't treat your wound."

In that moment, the police began breaking down the door outside, and more patrol cars arrived. Jimmy told Ruiz to stay put to avoid additional trauma from moving; lying down was better than trying to get him up.

Jimmy stood up and shouted outside the surveillance room, "People inside, listen up, put down your weapons, raise your hands and lie on the ground. You're the only ones left."

This was just a standard door; it couldn't block sound. Jimmy watched from the side as the two people inside laid down their guns and lay on the ground. Then he pulled open the door. Kicking their handguns away, he commanded, "Don't move." With no more handcuffs on him, he could only aim his gun at them to ensure safety temporarily.

As the police forced their way in, Jimmy noticed their imminent entry and immediately shouted, "FBI, it's safe, don't shoot."

After the police's arrival, their job was to clean up and transport the three living captives; meanwhile, Jimmy quickly went to the other room, where three people were tied to chairs, bound to the chair backs. That's why from Jimmy's "Heart Eye" perspective, it appeared as if the three were motionless, not even coming out to assist during the gunfight.

Thankfully, it was indeed them, the surveillance trio who had been captured. After Jimmy untied them, he also learned the specifics of their situation.

Their van was discovered, and afterward, several people with guns dragged them from the van to this location. As for the surveillance van, Jimmy and his team didn't find it outside; it must have been driven away by the MS13, their whereabouts unknown. The specifics would have to be extracted from the three surviving captives during interrogation.

When the ambulance arrived, Ruiz was taken first. The others were briefly checked and then declared dead, waiting for others to come and take them away.

(Additionally, the FBI has its own SWAT team, part of the Critical Incident Response Group (CIRG). Each of the 56 FBI field offices across America has its SWAT team. Apart from managing SWAT, CIRG also includes the aviation and surveillance teams, the tactical operations division, the bomb unit, the investigative and operations support section, the Hostage Rescue Team (HRT), and more. Among them, SWAT and HRT are the most visible to the public. However, when on missions they do not wear organization-specific badges; all are marked as FBI.)
