The second chance of the uncrowned king - (Isekai)

Chap 110: A new adventure begins.

"Grandma, this is the problem." I explained in detail what happened yesterday while demonstrating by building a sphere and an ice sword in their most recent versions. "When I add my pseudo Law of Sharpness to my sword, it far surpasses the offensive power of the spheres." I added my new pseudo Law to each of them to show her.

"Adding my pseudo Law to each spike doesn't make sense. I know using it consumes my energy, and using it on several sections at once consumes much more compared to what the ice sword requires." I showed her the example—right now I didn't feel any difference since I was completely rested, but the problem came when I was exhausted.

"Your spiked sphere is a blunt attack and your swords are cutting attacks. You'll have to alternate depending on the type of monster or opponent." My grandmother advised me, and it made a lot of sense. Not everyone uses the same type of defense or is equally resistant. "I recommend not adding your pseudo Law of Sharpness to your spheres, it's a waste for the little extra power it gives. It's better to try and obtain another compatible pseudo Law." She touched her chin, clearly thinking of a solution.

"Do you recommend any in particular? And… my mind is already occupied trying to learn two others. I don't know how long it'll take to learn a third." Thinking it through, I came to that conclusion—I've already spent a long time trying to learn an electric pseudo Law without any progress.

"You have several options. People usually choose the simplest ones, like those related to strength or destruction. The first is much easier to obtain." My grandmother rested her chin on the palm of her left hand while her arm leaned on her leg. "Getting a pseudo Law related to strength is usually easier, they're the most common and 'easiest' to obtain." She emphasized the word "easy" with her fingers.

I let out a long sigh, admitting defeat. "I'll leave that for later. My spheres already have enough power to wound grade 3 monsters. I'll use my ice swords from now on in most cases." A sharp attack is usually very effective against most monsters. "I'll focus on the two pseudo Laws I'm already stuck on." I don't have time to add another complicated task right now.

"Do you have a name for your ice swords?" Her question made me tilt my head in confusion, and at that moment, two mana balls hit my forehead. "I know about your affinity with swords, but it's usually easier to build something when you already have a name in mind." That actually made a lot of sense—people tend to focus more when they can visualize and describe something.

"A name… a name…" I spent several seconds thinking of one. In my previous world, there were many well-known swords from legends and stories. Like King Arthur's Excalibur or many others. Among all of them, this one was chosen: "I know what I'll call them. Their name will be: Joyeuse." My creations don't exactly resemble that sword—they're thicker and larger—but I really like the name and what it represents.

My grandmother stared at me like I was some kind of weirdo, and I pouted in annoyance. She insisted I come up with a name, and now she looks at me like that. "There's no point in trying to make sense of your thoughts, Maki. You always come up with something new and strange." She let out a sigh as if trying to erase the moment from her mind, which made me laugh.

"Don't just sit there, it's time to train a bit." We began our construction training. In this case, I created mini versions of Joyeuse to counter her various light-based constructions. We also started training my mental ability linked to my electric affinity, hoping to either unlock a skill slot or acquire the pseudo Law.

The next three months were constant training. Every day I repeated the same exercises to keep my body in shape and my mind sharp. I could see daily progress in my abilities, especially the ones that had fallen behind, like my Interwoven Mana Weaving and Gravity Well. Those two had been left behind entirely.

I haven't counted my Electrifying Charged Steps skill because I haven't yet obtained the electric pseudo Law, though I'm really close to finally getting it. I just need one more spark of insight. I've been adding parts of what electricity means to me. I don't rule out the possibility of jumping straight to a full Law.

My pseudo Law of space is also just one spark away—I need a small push in that final stretch to get it. Just a bit more. The help from my grandmother and my Domain has greatly helped me understand what space truly means. I feel how my ability is aligning itself to a future Law.

Once I obtain it, I'll raise it to higher levels by any means necessary and aim for a rank IV skill as strong as Death's Sharpness. I just need that final push across the board, and I could level up several skills at once if I'm lucky.

"What's the name of your new gravity-related skill, son?" My mother asked with a smile and genuine curiosity. She, my father, and my grandmother were there to see me off—it was time to head to the Fallen Hero Dungeon. There's one month left until Arisa's birthday, and it's best to clear it now.

I checked my status again before answering. Not because I'm obsessed with it, but to be totally sure of the name.

Maki – 12 years old. Advanced Emerald Rank. SKILLS: • Death's Sharpness (IV) – Level 6 • Fortified Construction (III) – Level 19 • Unified Malleable Mana (III) – Level 19 • Electrifying Charged Steps (III) – Level 10 • Domain (III) – Level 19 • Frozen Core (III) – Level 19 • Vital Synthesis (III) – Level 16 • Crushing Zone (III) – Level 2 • Interwoven Mana Weaving (III) – Level 10

Laws and Pseudo Laws: • Yin-Yang Law: Life and Death • Pseudo Law of Ice • Pseudo Law of Sharpness

Seeing how far Interwoven Mana Weaving has come makes me happy. It's now much easier to use in my constructions. I can now build my Joyeuse swords with no issues. It only takes me about one extra second to build the same number of Joyeuse using this ability—it used to be impossible to do during a fight.

"It's called: Crushing Zone." A smile formed on my face. It's a fantastic name. "It has a huge range, almost comparable to my Domain, and I can exert the same pressure as before while spending less mana." That's not the only improvement—I can now apply incredible pressure to concentrated spots. The only downside is how much mana it consumes when used that way.

"It's definitely a great name. Just hearing it commands respect." My father laughed while ruffling my hair with his hand. That's how he shows affection. When he does that, it means he's proud of me.

"Don't come back with another girl in love with you. One of them's going to stab you if you keep charming women everywhere you go." My grandmother made a joke that made everyone laugh—except me.

"I'm going to a dungeon, not on a date." I rolled my eyes at her comment. "It's not like I want to cause that impression—it just happens." My replies only made them laugh harder. I gave up and started laughing at myself too.

"Speaking seriously, son, I am a bit worried." My mother looked at me seriously. "You've inherited my beauty, your grandmother and I raised you well, and you're strong—women like that." My father started complaining, asking what he did then. My mother and grandmother ignored him.

"I'm afraid you might cause problems with some major noble houses." I asked if she wasn't worried about me getting hurt. She looked at me with eyes full of love and trust. "You're like a mutant cockroach, son. You're hard to kill and can regenerate almost your entire body—you'll be fine somehow."

My father kept asking questions, but no one answered him. I was left wondering… is that really what my family thinks of me? Do they all see me as something hard to kill? They must be joking. I looked at their eyes again and wasn't so sure.

"It's time for me to go. I'll see you in a few days." I left before getting emotionally wounded by them. Their concern is genuine, and at the same time, they see me as something powerful and hard to destroy.

"Take care, little boy. We'll be waiting for you," my grandmother said first.

"I expect great things from you, son. Clear every floor!" my father encouraged me while flexing his biceps.

"Be careful. You're hard to kill, but not immortal, Maki," my mother was the last to speak.

I turned and raised my hand to wave goodbye. It was time to clear Sus's final gift. "Let's go, brother. Mother left this for you." Glia was still sleeping soundly inside my core, supporting me. According to her, she still needs to sleep a lot since she's still a baby.

I'm excited about this new adventure. My heart beats fast, and my body craves the thrill after three months. This dungeon must help me overcome the blocks where I'm stuck. Don't disappoint me, Fallen Hero Dungeon!
