RISE OF THE MARTIAL GOD

Chapter 66: YOUR BROTHER?

KAISER MEYER, MOONSHINE APARTMENTS/ SECRET LAB

Kaiser's helicopter landed on the rooftop of moonshine apartments, one of the biggest housing complexes in Patterson Hills, Singapore. It was a neighborhood meant exclusively for the rich and the powerful. Only billionaires and well connected people dared to live there. Everything around screamed luxury, the type most could only dream of.

Moonshine apartments was a high brow apartment complex with magnificent architecture, reaching up to twenty five floors. It was made up of expensive apartments and penthouses reserved for the influential. And most importantly, Moonshine apartments solely belonged to Kaiser Meyer. He owned a third of the entire Patterson hills, developing it into a real estate heaven. But moonshine was special because it was hiding an even bigger secret from the rest of the world.

Moonshine apartments hid Kaiser's state of the art, secret research labs. It was one of the top three secret research labs he kept hidden from the rest of the world, where the main research goes on, before the products manufactured would then be passed to his official research laboratories to study.

Half of the people who lived in the apartment complex were top researchers attached to his underground research laboratory. But it was impossible for others to find out, no matter how well they investigated. Each of the researchers had normal day to day jobs, or online works that pops up in their history and biography. They often go to the fake jobs arranged for them, attend clubs, pretend not to know others outside, live like rich kids to pull the wool over people's eyes. And once it's evening, they retire to the apartment where their main careers lie.

Two floors beneath the first floor was an underground apartment complex where the laboratory was set up. It was so well structured that it was impossible for someone to discover the existence of the lab, unless they received inside information from a saboteur. Which Kaiser would never allow to happen.

To those investigating Kaiser, the house was just one of his nests where he goes to chill for a while, before returning to his official duties. Brent had investigated Kaiser's various houses lots of times, but each time, there would be no result. The one time his investigator got a scoop was a picture of Kaiser's special assistant picking up an escort girl who stayed the night before leaving. He had hissed in anger on seeing the results of the investigation and finally gave up.

However, he didn't realize that it was all Kaiser's plan. He wanted him to think that the reason he came to the house was to have sex with call girls and pay them off, which he never did because he would never touch a girl who has slept with other men, even with a five inch pole. But getting scoops of such dirt was better than discovering the lab. A ruthless person like Brent won't mind destroying the whole neighborhood to get to Kaiser. However, Kaiser was more cunning, he was the best player in their sick games. And he was just getting ready to deal with them.

The moment Kaiser entered his penthouse and locked the door, he entered his private elevator in his room which delivered him straight to the lab below. Not even his assistants were allowed to follow him in. He always reserved the apartment next to his for his private staff. Each time he visits, he would enter his own penthouse and personally lock it. While the people that came with him, including his pilots and assistants would retire to the opposite apartment to rest, giving him the chance to take care of his business.

The 'ding' sound from the elevator immediately attracted the attention of everyone working in the lab as he stepped out.

"Lord Kaiser!" Everyone greeted, giving him a slight bow.

It made for a strange sight to see them bowing to a boy not older than twenty years of age. But surprisingly, it didn't look inappropriate, probably due to Kaiser's charisma and composure.

"How many of the formulas did you recreate?" He asked coldly, going straight to the chair reserved for him, close to the wall.

"We successfully recreated two of the four you gave us to study. The materials are a bit strange, extracting the essence of those herbs in the specified method is very hard and complicated." The director of the lab replied, walking towards him to give his report.

"It's alright. It's already good enough that you replicated the two. It was not meant to be easy. I will just take the two that are ready first. You guys should continue researching the other two. It won't make sense if so many miraculous drugs pour out into the market from the same company, at the same time. It would attract unnecessary attention. Even though I don't fear anyone's interference, it's better not to frighten them too much. These two first, and when the excitement created by the two expires, we will release another one. That's what it means to be undefeated and always at the top. Not just remaining relevant in the market space, but by occupying the top and biggest market share in whatever field we show interest in." Kaiser said and grinned widely, reminding them of a fierce and greedy tiger.

His smile was especially charming, but all they felt was a cold shiver which was accompanied by goosebumps on the surface of their skin.

"Lord Kaiser…" The director muttered timidly, making Kaiser look up from the monitor where he was going through the summary of their weekly activities.

The moment he saw the nervous look on the director's face, he realized he had something unpleasant to report. Probably an issue which would make Kaiser dissatisfied with them.

"Is anything the problem? What do you want to report?" He asked, forcing himself to give the director what he hoped was a smile of encouragement.

"The issue is that the two drugs we succeeded in replicating were not, em, the same quality with the ones you gave us. The potency was 70% when compared to the one you gave us to study. Although it's still miraculous and there has not been any thing like it present in the market, it couldn't match up to the sample provided. We did our best to follow the instructions to the letter, doing everything to improve it. But the highest comparison rate we have recorded so far was 70%." The director muttered in a low voice, like a child afraid his father would beat him for performing poorly at school.

"How about the patients they were used on?" Kaiser asked in an uninterested tone.

"For the patients that were in the early and middle stages, one dose of the drug was enough to heal them. For those in the advanced stages, three or four doses were enough to heal them. And so far, we have only recorded one case where someone needed to take it till the fourth dose before he got completely healed. And most importantly, there were no side effects." The director quickly said, trying to use the little good news as redemption.

"However, it was not as potent as the samples Lord Kaiser personally delivered to us. The sample not only worked immediately without a need for being repeated, it strengthened the body and made sure the disease would never recur. Most importantly, the dosage was the same for both children and adults, without side effects. Compared to the one you provided, the ones we replicated after much effort isn't worth mentioning." The assistant chief director of the research team said, standing beside the director.

Kaiser looked at her and smiled smugly, his face filled with pride.

"It's alright, the current results are already good enough. As long as they don't have side effects, just like the original one, it would be fine. I never expected you guys to create a perfect copy that had the same potency with the original. It was created by someone extraordinary. You guys are the best scientists and medical researchers in the field of chemical and herbal research. In the whole earth, few can compare to your expertise and competence. You don't need to be nervous or make unnecessary comparisons, 70% is already amazing as it is. With time, maybe you guys can increase the purity and potency to 75%. The results are just as expected, don't beat yourselves up over it." Kaiser said in a reassuring tone, and quickly went back to work.

The scientists who were expected him to blow up, were stunned speechless. Everyone had been waiting for his criticism which was sure to come if they told him that they got a result less than the expected one. He expected nothing less than perfect, and would be pissed off if his subordinates performed lower than the expectations he set for them. In addition, Kaiser's definition of perfect wasn't the same as others. He expected 101% of the best with his workers. And would rather they improve the efficiency of an already existing product, than getting something below it.

But surprisingly, he seemed to hold the scientist that developed the miracle drug in high regard, making him not to mind the fact that they didn't get the original quality.

"Can we know the researcher that produced such amazing drugs for impossible cases?" One of the scientists finally asked, unable to hold back her curiosity.

"It was my big brother." He answered with a broad smile.

"Your big brother?" One of the researchers equally from a powerful family echoed in a voice filled with disbelief. The rumors he heard about Anthony never suggested that he was capable of doing anything amazing.

Kaiser continued his speech, not noticing the doubts on their faces.

"He's the best researcher out there, and also a top computer programmer. He's a genius, that's why I don't expect you guys to surpass him." He said in a voice dripping with pride, surprising them once again.

Did the hard to please Lord Kaiser just praise someone? He must be smitten with his brother.
