"Aren't you the one doing the dying?" Jim's cold voice was heard from behind the demon as it quickly spun around, only for the dragon to hammer the ripped off arm from the earlier vessel into the one's head in front of him with all his might that a mini shockwave was blasted outward.

A thin crack appeared and the next instant, blood burst from the demon's head as it slid to its knees. Before it could collapse totally, Jim instantly spun around and smashed the claw into another vessel's face causing its whole body to fly away like a broken doll tossed aside.

Without missing a beat, Jim swung his foot, smashing it into another vessel charging towards him for an attack. Unfortunately, aside from the vessel whose head he cracked, he was unable to fully hit the others and kill them, so they kept coming again and again.

This put Jim in a tight spot of constant survival. Dodges, struggles and counter attacks as his teeth were grit tightly. He kept using the vessel's severed arm as a weapon while at times striking with his claws, blood tearing through enemies after enemies as he staggered between offense and defense.

While Max stood at the far back, arms crossed, eyes fixated on everybody's movements, the gang members from Ava's gang, the civilians and the leader of the dark forces who stood at the far back all watched in confusion and fear.

"What's going on? Who are these two fighting the dark forces? Where's Ava?" One of the civilians muttered as they kept watching Jim struggle between the two dozen demon vessels.

"Only heavens know. Could it be that she sought out their help? Could she have made a deal with them?"

"Who knows?" Another civilian muttered with a shrug. "And one of them mentioned he was a dragon. Is he senile? Dragons are already extinct."

"I think he just wanted to aura farm. Tch! Useless hybrids. They might be strong enough to defeat these minions, but the leader is on another level. Ava can testify."

"Whatever. Let's see and hope they can actually pull through."

Bam, Bang, BAM!

The sounds kept echoing as Jim was busy exchanging hits after the other with the vessels. With how many they were, some hits began getting through, striking him in the face, arms and shoulders, but he didn't relent.

He leaped back avoiding a slash to his chest. Before he could retaliate though, a kick streaked his way so he quickly lifted the arm in his hands up as the kick struck, further destroying the fleshy weapon and causing it to explode into pieces.

Jim stumbled backwards in slight pain only to see a vessel leap into the air, hands clasped together and ready to hammer down into the dragon.

While that one was closing in, the others darted towards him too and were almost upon him.

"Shoot! I think I might need a little bit of help." Jim mumbled quietly as he prepared himself, ready to take one strike after the other if needed.

"I guess two dozen demon vessels is too much for a newly turned dragon. Even I didn't face such numbers." Max muttered as he snapped his fingers and instantly, a fireball blazed to life.

And with a twirl of his wrist, the fireball went flying with immense speed and in a flash, it collided with the demon closing in on Jim from the air. It slammed it out of the sky and sent it hurling with immense burn marks as its screams filled the air.

"Kek! Here I go!" Jim shouted as he proceeded to explode forward, aiming to collide with the remaining vessels and in a flash, he crashed into them as claws went flying around crashing into one another. The ground trembled lightly under the force of his renewed momentum, and a few civilians gasped loudly as the chaos intensified.

"I think I will have to get more involved, we don't have all night." Max muttered as his hands began glowing bright blue and he held them forward, one of the vessel's bodies glowing at the same time.

Yanking his hand back, the vessel flew straight at the dragon and entered his grasp with Max's clutch tight on the vessel's neck while it struggled helplessly in his grip.

"Let's see how much 92 points of strength is." Max grinned widely as he clasped his hands tightly, clenching hard. The vessel's eyes bulged as it found it hard to breathe and in desperation, it began pounding its hands on the dragon's grip again and again.

"Stop resisting you fool!" He shouted as he put more pressure and a loud cracking sound was heard. The vessel went limp and Max proceeded to fling it away with ease.

Meanwhile, Jim was getting battered, his breathing becoming ragged as he endured more and more hits. The vessels were now overwhelming him with their sheer numbers, forcing him into constant movement just to stay alive.

"Come on, the rest of you, go ahead and take him down. He is becoming weaker!" One of the demon vessels standing with the members of the Pincer's gang shouted, and reluctantly, they stirred.

They had no choice. Their leader was nowhere to be seen and anybody that disobeyed would be the dinner for the leader of the dark forces. They clutched their weapons and dashed forward, fear mixing with duty.

"You all take one more step," a voice suddenly called from above. Everybody turned to stare into the air only to see Max hovering overhead, his wings on full display, flapping softly as he pointed his finger forward. An orange glow could be seen gathering at the tip as he glared at the men.

"I won't think twice before obliterating you all regardless of whether you are humans or not." He added with a snarl at the end, his eyes glowing fiercely as the air trembled slightly around him.

"Honestly, I wanted to stand back for a little while longer, but something about you just keeps on pissing me off…" a booming voice was heard and Max quickly spun around only to be whacked in the face by something solid.

The impact sent his whole body shooting out of the air and crashing into the building at the far back, stunning Jim and everybody else as they all gasped in unison.

Only then did they see the leader of the dark forces land back down smoothly, his claws glowing pitch black while a smug grin slid across his face.
