Hunter: Growing Stronger with the Light of the Moon!

Chapter 155: Preparing to Leave Dorey City

Philoctetes was dead, and Melissa voluntarily lowered the barrier.

When she and Ed appeared in front of everyone again, all eyes turned to the Undead Crystal in Melissa's hand.

The surrounding Undead Monsters seemed to realize that their king had fallen, and they stood motionless, frozen in place.

After a moment of silence, the Undead Monsters began to disperse in all directions, with no one trying to stop them.

Eng eagerly approached Melissa, his eyes fixed on the Undead Crystal in her hand.

When he took the crystal from Melissa, his hands trembled slightly, and his gaze slowly shifted to Philoctetes, who was still standing.

The mission was finally over. Though they had come close to failure, they were lucky to have Ed and Melissa with them. Otherwise, this crucial Undead Crystal would not have been so easily obtained.

Eng looked at Melissa and Ed with sincere gratitude and slowly said, "I truly owe this to you both!"

The Hunters of Dorey City also let out a sigh of relief. The mission had been fraught with danger and unexpected twists, each change shaking their hearts.

As for Leon, he quickly walked up and stood beside Ed.

The Hunter from the Holy City Torilard Family no longer wore the proud and hostile expression he had before. Instead, his face showed deep gratitude, his heart filled with the joy of having survived.

It wasn't long before Finniel walked over as well, and Leon's expression became slightly awkward. He instinctively glanced at the golden-glowing sword in Ed's hand. As though remembering something, he slowly stepped behind Ed.

Finniel stared at Ed, her goddess-like, exquisite features filled with admiration. She had witnessed Ed's actions from afar and had seen it all clearly.

Without Ed, not only would the Dorey City Hunters have perished, but her four bodyguards would have found it difficult to survive as well.

As the group prepared to leave, Melissa walked at the back with Ed by her side.

He watched as Melissa took one last look at Philoctetes.

Ed gently patted Melissa's shoulder and comforted her, saying, "His death... was probably a form of release for him."

Melissa nodded and took a deep breath, striving to suppress the sadness within her.

Everyone was waiting for Ed—Dorey City's Hunters, the Morton Family's guards, as well as Leon and Finniel. They stood in place, their eyes following Ed's every move.

Ed wasn't unfamiliar with this situation. As he stepped to the front of the group, he softly said, "Let's go. We're leaving here and heading back to Dorey City."

With Ed leading the way, the group set off on their journey back to Dorey City.

Dorey City, Moon Eclipse Demon Hunter Association

Ed sat alone in his room. Since Melissa had returned, her mood had been down, and she wanted to be left alone for a while.

Ed didn't know how to comfort Melissa and could only hope that she would soon recover her normal state of mind.

His strength had already risen from mid-tier Silver Hunter to high-tier Silver Hunter, and he now possessed the Moonstone Mark, Blue Fire Seal, Spirit Wind Seal, and advanced spiritual treasures...

It could be said that, even the current strongest member of the Moon Eclipse Demon Hunter Association, Jade, who had become the president, was no match for him.

As long as the opponent wasn't a Gold-level Hunter, Ed could defeat them.

In addition, Leon had informed Ed about the sword that emitted a golden light.

This sword was worth around 20,000 gold coins!

It was forged from materials more advanced than Mithril, specifically Day Gold, and had a suppressive effect on Undead Monsters. Furthermore, when used in sunlight, it would boost its power.

As for the reward for this mission, there was still no news from Finniel. According to her, she needed to report the details of this mission to the Morton Family to secure a better reward for Ed.

Ed had no objections, as he still needed to meet Finniel's uncle, Evan Morton, to inquire about the Moonlit Frost Poisonous Mist.

Thinking about this, Ed couldn't help but feel regret. If only he hadn't destroyed the Bloodred Sphere so quickly, his progress in power improvement would have been much faster now!

[Progress toward breaking through to low-tier Gold Hunter: 20%]

After destroying the Bloodred Sphere, the progress continued to grow, but it was too slow and eventually stopped at 20%.

However, given the situation at the time, there were no other options. If he had continued to greedily pursue the progress, it would have certainly led to a life-threatening danger.

Ed lightly shook his head. He was feeling a bit tired and didn't plan to meditate using the Moonlight Meditation Technique to improve his strength today.

He needed a good rest!

Placing the Steel Sword and Golden Sword under his pillow, Ed slowly closed his eyes and quickly fell into a deep sleep.

The next morning, Ed quickly washed up and was about to check on Melissa's condition when he heard footsteps outside the door.

He opened the door to find Melissa standing there.

Her eyes were tired, but there was an unusual determination in them. She spoke directly, "Ed, are you planning to follow Finniel and the others to the Holy City?"

Ed nodded. This was part of his plan. After all, the Moonlit Frost Poisonous Mist inside him couldn't be left unattended. He needed to find the right opportunity to completely eliminate it.

It was also time to go to a bigger place. If he only relied on the moonlight at night for his meditation technique, it would likely take a long time before he could reach the Gold level as a Hunter.

After receiving Ed's response, Melissa began to voice her thoughts. She wanted to go with Ed to the Holy City!

As the princess of the Elf Clan, Melissa had been born with the responsibility of revitalizing the Elves. She had disguised herself as a human and lived in Dorey City because of the curse that caused her body to constantly generate moonlight energy.

Since meeting Ed, she had seen hope, and with the recent events in the Underground Undead Cavern, witnessing her mother's guard Philoctetes die, she could not forget the once-great Elf Kingdom, even in death.

Melissa decided that she would go to the Holy City, near the Tassia Mountains, as Philoctetes had mentioned, to search for the twin Elf Warriors and other members of her race to help the Elf Clan revive!

Ed was pleased with Melissa's decision. Instead of going to the Holy City alone, he preferred having a familiar face accompany him.

However, before setting off, he still needed to check with Finniel to find out when they would leave.

Ed went to the City Lord's Mansion and received a clear answer.

The next morning, Finniel and her group would leave Dorey City and head back to the Holy City.

With little time left, Ed had many things to do, such as saying goodbye to Uncle Du, Iris, Viktor, and Toronto, as well as selling the Mithril Sword to exchange for some gold coins.

Riding his warhorse Lightning, Ed headed to Uncle Du's inn and briefly explained his plans.

Uncle Du was not upset, but Viktor and Iris were stubbornly determined to follow him. They kept saying how they owed Ed a debt of gratitude but had never had the chance to repay him.

Viktor even said, "Ed, even if I can't contribute in battle, I can help take care of your warhorse, cook meals, keep watch, and so on."

Iris's eyes reddened slightly, and she looked at Ed with a pitiful expression. She bit her lip, not wanting to part from him again.

Ed felt that, given what he had heard from Eng about the Giant Hound Soth and the fact that Viktor and Iris's Hunter levels were too low, it would be dangerous if they encountered anything out of the ordinary.

There was nothing he could do, so he kept persuading Viktor and Iris to stay in Dorey City. After all, it was just a short departure, and he might return at any time.

Viktor and Iris could only accept this. They silently watched Ed leave.

Viktor took a deep breath and whispered, "Give me some time, and I'll make myself more useful!"

When Ed returned to the Moon Eclipse Demon Hunter Association, he saw many unfamiliar Hunters outside the association's door.

As he was puzzled about who these people were and what they were doing at the Moon Eclipse Demon Hunter Association, he suddenly heard someone shout, "Look! It's Ed!"

"Lord Ed, I'm the Hunter who adventured with you before. I've come to join your association!"

"That's right, Lord Ed, I'm here to join the Moon Eclipse Demon Hunter Association too!"

Ed was taken aback. He hadn't expected that the events in the Underground Undead Cavern would cause so many Dorey City Hunters to want to join the Moon Eclipse Demon Hunter Association.

This was actually a good thing. After all, the president of the Moon Eclipse Demon Hunter Association was no longer Arya, but Jade.

Ed felt more at ease with Jade in charge. At the very least, Jade would never resort to turning strangers into slaves and selling them.

Ed gave a few simple greetings to the Hunters around him. He still needed to find Jade and discuss the plans for tomorrow, as he would be accompanying Finniel and her group to the Holy City.

After all, he was now the Vice Captain of the Moon Eclipse Demon Hunter Association.

Along the way, people kept calling out to him, "Vice Captain Ed!"

Ed could only respond to each one. After what felt like a long time, he finally arrived at the place where Jade was, and he heard Jade's voice from inside the room.

Jade said, "Ed's strength is already at the high-tier Silver Hunter level. I think he's capable of becoming the president of the Moon Eclipse Demon Hunter Association. I can assist him."
