According to Findley, as far as he knew, apart from the Eye of Delphilis, Delphilis' right arm, right leg, and ears had already been awakened.
Moreover, these parts were in the hands of different factions!
Findley slowly said, "In the underground world of the far north, in the Evernight Region, a group of Dark Elves treats Delphilis' right arm as a sacred artifact. The Ear of Delphilis is in the hands of the Moon Worship Sect, while Delphilis' right leg is currently under the control of the High Priest in the Orc Kingdom."
Dark Elves from the underground world? Moon Worship Sect? Orc High Priest?
Ed couldn't help but feel a weight settle in his heart.
In other words, if the fusion of the Eye of Delphilis with his right eye could also be sensed by Delphilis' other parts, at least these three factions are aware of the existence of other parts of Delphilis near Holy City!
An invisible sense of danger began to build in Ed's mind.
He had just resolved the crisis in Dorey City by dealing with Karot, Reve, and Arya, and forcing her to abandon the Moon Eclipse Demon Hunter Association and flee. He hadn't yet addressed the problem of the Moonlit Frost Poisonous Mist, and now, it seemed like something even more dangerous was about to occur.
Ed pondered deeply and asked about the strength of the Dark Elves in the underground world and the Orc Kingdom.
Findley tossed a map to Ed.
Ed studied the map for a while before finally locating Holy City. It was about the size of an egg on the map. The human kingdom's territory, however, was about one hundred times larger than Holy City!
As for the Orc Kingdom, it lay to the west of the human kingdom, covering roughly half the size of the human kingdom.
To the east of the human kingdom was a vast, endless ocean marked as the Sea of Death on the map.
The north was labeled as the underground world.
To the south, there was a dangerous red zone called The Forsaken Land, which was noted on the map as a place filled with countless bloodthirsty monsters and undead creatures.
Ed realized that Holy City was only a small part of the entire world. Dorey City didn't even appear on the map!
Findley pointed at Holy City on the map and said, "Holy City is just a piece of land granted to Amelia Stewart's ancestors by the emperor of the human kingdom. This world is actually very large, and every place has its own knowledge, waiting for me to devour it."
Ed quickly looked up at Findley, seemingly not fully understanding what he meant.
Findley smiled, and his figure began to blur. Soon, a giant white worm with a human face, possessing numerous insect-like arms, appeared before Ed's eyes.
Though it looked terrifying, Ed felt no sense of danger. Instead, he was filled with a profound calmness, and the pressure and sense of crisis he had just felt vanished completely.
Finniel briefly explained to Ed that Findley was a special kind of creature known as a Knowledge Worm, one of the most learned beings in the world, who survived by absorbing various kinds of knowledge.
Ed was amazed; this world of Hunters truly held unique and mind-boggling existences!
Then, Finniel began to ask her questions. She spoke in a vague, fragmented manner, pausing as if recalling something.
Ed suspected that someone must have informed Finniel about the questions in advance; otherwise, it wouldn't have been like this.
To Finniel's questions, the Knowledge Worm Findley slowly extended a finger.
Without hesitation, Finniel pulled out ten thousand gold coins, and once again, a pile of coins appeared on the floor, forming a small mountain.
Findley's smile grew more pronounced, and Ed couldn't help but think that Findley wasn't a Knowledge Worm but a greedy Gold Coin Worm!
Soon, Finniel got the answers she wanted.
Ed also heard that to the north of Dorey City, there was a desolate mountain range. In a certain underground cave within the mountains, Finniel would find what she was looking for.
However, the area was inhabited by a Gold level mid-tier Elf Undead and other undead creatures.
Ed wasn't too concerned with this information. He was still focused on whether the Eye of Delphilis merging with his right eye might attract the attention of other factions.
As Finniel and Ed walked out of the library, Finniel suddenly ran back inside. After about two minutes, Ed heard the sound of countless coins dropping onto the floor.
It seemed that Finniel had some more questions and was going to ask Findley alone.
Ed didn't inquire further. His curiosity wasn't that strong.
When Finniel emerged from the library, she looked deeply worried, as if she was troubled by something.
The group then began to head back to the castle, and Ed wanted to reunite with Jade, Toronto, and Ford to handle the Moon Eclipse Demon Hunter Association matters.
After all, as the leader of the association, Arya had fled, and Reve had been locked away. Only Jade, a Silver level high-tier Hunter, remained.
On the way back, Ed unexpectedly saw a few people he hadn't expected to encounter.
Uncle Du drove the carriage and waved at Ed, shouting, "Ed!"
Viktor and Iris immediately poked their heads out of the carriage, looking in Ed's direction.
However, Iris's gaze briefly lingered on Ed before quickly shifting to Finniel Morton, and she didn't look away for a long time. Her mouth tightened subconsciously, a sense of unspoken grievance evident in her expression.
As for Viktor, his gaze toward Ed was filled with envy.
Ed briefly told Finniel Morton that he had run into some friends and wouldn't be returning to the castle with her.
Finniel looked at Ed and asked, "Are they your friends?"
Ed nodded without thinking much.
Finniel instantly breathed a sigh of relief. She subtly glanced at Iris; while Iris wasn't as beautiful as she was, she had a certain vitality about her that Finniel lacked.
For some reason, when Finniel saw Ed nod, a tense feeling within her relaxed. As she was about to leave, she reminded Ed:
"Mr. Ed, if you have time tomorrow, could you come to the castle? Or I could come find you, either way works. We mainly need to discuss some follow-up matters."
Ed nodded. He could ask about the Moonlit Frost Poisonous Mist tomorrow as well.
He started walking toward Uncle Du, Iris, and Viktor, not noticing that Finniel was quietly watching him from behind.
Eng walked up to Finniel and said, "Miss Finniel, we should be heading back."
Finniel, feeling somewhat dejected, turned around.
Eng looked back at Ed's retreating figure and sighed.
Finniel was a core member of the Morton Family, not someone an ordinary person could just desire. No matter how much Finniel might want it, the Morton Family would never agree.
Even though Ed had saved all of Dorey City, was a mid-tier Silver Hunter at such a young age, and had the ability to raise his strength to low-tier Gold, it wouldn't change the Morton Family's view of him.
At this moment, Ed was unaware of Eng's thoughts. He smiled subconsciously at Uncle Du, Viktor, and Iris, who were waving at him.
Iris, looking somewhat strange, withdrew back into the carriage.
When they arrived back at Uncle Du's inn, in the same room where Ed had stayed before, they finally sat down face-to-face.
Viktor excitedly waved his arms, looking at Ed and said, "Ed, you won't believe it! On our way back, we heard the whole of Dorey City talking about you!"
"You're amazing! You're the kind of Hunter I want to be! The one who saved all of Dorey City!"
"The luckiest thing that ever happened to me in my life was meeting you back in the village!"
Unlike the excited Viktor, Iris seemed somewhat downcast. She occasionally glanced at Ed, only to quickly avert her gaze, as if lost in thought.
Perhaps noticing the awkward atmosphere between Iris and Ed, Uncle Du coughed a couple of times and asked Viktor to help tidy up the inn.
Viktor, without giving it much thought, readily agreed.
Now, only Iris and Ed remained in the room. After a brief silence, Iris spoke up and asked, "The woman next to you earlier, was she the famous Finniel Morton from the Morton Family?"
Ed nodded and replied, "Yes, I was handling some matters with her. Why?"
Iris continued, her voice still somewhat sulky, "Are you close with her?"
Ed, a bit puzzled, answered directly, "Why do you ask that? I only met her for the first time yesterday."
Instantly, Iris's eyes brightened, and the earlier discontent faded, replaced by a hint of subtle satisfaction.
The earlier woman named Melissa, and now Finniel Morton, had stirred a sense of rivalry in Iris. During their time apart, she had been thinking about Ed constantly. After learning what had happened in Dorey City, her first reaction was to worry. She was afraid that Ed might have been hurt, but after seeing that he was unharmed, she felt a sense of relief.
But Ed wasn't just fine; he was accompanied by a woman even more beautiful than she was. The thought nearly broke her heart.
Iris took a deep breath, deciding that she couldn't just sit back and wait any longer. She had to take the initiative.
She looked at Ed, her voice slightly nervous as she said, "Tonight, can I stay here?"
