Hunter: Growing Stronger with the Light of the Moon!

Chapter 125: Return to Dorey City

In the small town, Ed dismounted from his horse and took out the black cloth bag that could store living creatures. Melissa's pet, Blue, immediately darted out and flew quickly to Ed's shoulder.

Blue tilted its head, looking at Ed, seemingly puzzled as to why they were suddenly in a different place.

At that moment, Blue's body shivered for a few breaths, then its eyes became clear and bright.

Ed tentatively said, "Melissa?"

Blue nodded, indicating that Melissa had taken control of Blue's body and was ready for action.

Ed quickly took out the recording stone, which contained evidence of Reve turning into a monster and confessing his collaboration with the monster Vil. This recording stone also detailed the plan to kill all the residents of Dorey City and the four Gold-level Hunter guards of Finniel Morton.

Moreover, in the footage recorded on the recording stone, Ed had included his speculations about Vil's parasitic host and his thoughts on the situation. For instance, he considered pretending not to know that Duke Morton had been parasitized by Vil and allowing the enemies to proceed with their original plan. Once they reached Dorey City, Ed would wait for the right moment to silently control the monster Vil, and then wait for Vil's accomplices to appear, capturing all the enemies in one fell swoop!

However, Ed wasn't sure if Finniel Morton would choose this plan, as it was something he couldn't control.

If they learned the truth about the situation in a short time and immediately took control of Duke Morton, who was Vil's parasitic host, it would certainly raise suspicions among the other enemies, possibly causing them to flee.

Ed preferred to seize the opportunity to eliminate all the enemies at once.

With this thought in mind, Ed took a deep breath. He placed the recording stone in the palm of his hand. Blue, under Melissa's control, immediately flew off Ed's shoulder, extended its claws, and grabbed the recording stone. It then began to circle above the most luxurious building in the small town, observing.

Ed watched nervously, the figure of Blue barely visible in the darkness. He could barely make out a faint shadow.

Soon, under Melissa's control, Blue began to circle outside a brightly lit room, seemingly having determined where Finniel Morton's room was.

Through Melissa's eyes, she saw the familiar figure standing in the room Blue was observing.

That figure was none other than Arya, the president of the Hunter Association!

Melissa hesitated, uncertain whether she should have Blue toss the recording stone, which held the crucial evidence, through the window and into Arya's hands.

Because Ed had mentioned that it would be best to directly give the recording stone to Finniel Morton, Melissa hesitated for a moment.

As she was deliberating, through her control of Blue, she saw the door to the room behind Arya open. A woman, whose appearance could only be described as perfect, was surrounded by several maids and was speaking to Arya.

This woman must be Finniel Morton!

The presence of her maids confirmed her identity without a doubt!

Without further hesitation, Melissa began to control Blue, directing it toward the window of Finniel Morton and Arya's room.

Inside the room,

Finniel Morton's voice came from behind Arya. She spoke with a hint of confusion, "Sister Arya, what's going on?"

Arya immediately understood that she had stayed in Finniel Morton's room for too long, making Finniel Morton feel something was off.

At that moment, Finniel Morton was behind her, her view blocked, so she couldn't see the things Arya had set up on the bed earlier.

Arya replied directly, "It's nothing, I was just wondering if I should bring anything when you come to my room. Alright, let's go."

Finniel Morton nodded, not thinking too much about Arya's slightly odd behavior. She turned and began walking toward Arya's room, escorted by her maids.

At that moment, Arya was preparing to leave Finniel's room as well, but just then, the sound of glass shattering filled the air.

As a Gold-level Hunter, Arya reacted swiftly. She saw a stone falling toward the floor of the room.

Without hesitation, Arya pushed herself off the ground and swiftly moved toward the stone. Before it could hit the floor, she grabbed it.

She looked down and saw that it was a recording stone!

Without any hesitation, Arya slipped the recording stone into her pocket, then quickly walked over to the window, carefully observing the situation outside.

All of this transpired in an instant. By the time Arya reached the window, the guards outside had already surrounded Finniel.

Three Gold-level Hunter guards remained by Finniel's side, while the scarred-face Gold-level Hunter guard, who had previously blocked Arya, drew his Hunter sword and cautiously entered the room.

The scarred-face guard asked Arya, "Where are the enemies?"

Arya shook her head and replied slowly, "They've disappeared. It was a flying creature, likely an accidental intruder into the town, or perhaps someone was trying to monitor us."

"Anyway, this room is no longer suitable for Finniel. Let's have her go to my room."

The scarred-face Gold-level Hunter guard, after hearing Arya's words, didn't say anything. He shifted his gaze to the glass shards on the floor, then quickly observed the room.

After a moment, he sheathed his sword, stepped out of the room, and asked for Finniel's opinion.

Finniel, her expression calm, nodded and said, "Eng, it's fine. I wasn't frightened. I'll go to Arya's room in a bit."

"You'll have to work a bit harder tonight. Stay alert, there's still a little time before dawn. Once we reach Dorey City, you can relax a bit more."

Eng, the scarred-face guard, shook his head and replied seriously, "Miss Finniel, we won't be able to relax until you're back in Holy City."

After escorting Finniel to Arya's room, Eng briefly instructed the other three Gold-level Hunter guards to stay vigilant and ensure Miss Finniel's safety. He then returned to the room where the glass had shattered.

Under the moonlight, the glass on the floor reflected a cold light. Eng's gaze remained fixed on the floor, as if searching for something.

...

In the small town, Ed, hearing the faint sound of glass breaking in the distance, instinctively swung his arm forcefully.

Melissa had found Finniel Morton!

The most crucial task had been completed. As long as Finniel Morton watched the recording stone and became vigilant, the crisis in Dorey City should be averted.

Ed let out a deep breath. The enemies hidden in the shadows and the looming danger in Dorey City had been weighing on him for some time.

Fortunately, it seemed that the crisis in Dorey City was almost resolved.

Dorey City would be safe again, and the monster Vil would be controlled.

Ed thought about how he had uncovered the crisis in Dorey City and helped Finniel Morton solve it. This also provided him with an opportunity to get closer to Finniel Morton.

With that opportunity, after the situation in Dorey City was resolved, Ed could ask about the Moonlit Frost Poisonous Mist.

He wouldn't have to worry anymore about his strength increasing too slowly compared to the growth of the Moonlit Frost Poisonous Mist, leading to an outbreak and a painful death.

Everything was about to move in a better direction!

At that moment, Melissa's falcon Blue swooped down, alighting on Ed's shoulder with a sharp cry of acknowledgment.

Ed placed Blue back into the black cloth bag that could store living creatures, then mounted Lightning and rode out of the small town.

As he reached the wilderness outside the town, Jade, Toronto, and Ford were waiting for him, their eyes filled with anticipation.

Ed smiled slightly and softly said, "We did it."

Upon hearing Ed's words, Jade, Toronto, and Ford all sighed in relief. They exchanged glances, their faces breaking into relaxed, satisfied smiles.

Ford was the first to speak, "That's great! Captain, if it weren't for you, I honestly can't imagine how we would have solved this!"

Jade nodded in agreement with Ford, adding, "Yeah, whether it was discovering the danger in advance, using a dangerously risky tactic to lower Reve's guard and get crucial evidence, or tonight's operation—Ed, not having you in my team has been my regret!"

Toronto immediately turned his head to look at Jade.

Jade burst into laughter, explaining, "Hahaha, don't worry, I wasn't trying to poach Ed!"

"Once this is all over, the entire Dorey City will know the name of your Moonlight Team. It's you who'll have saved Dorey City!"

Jade's Blackstone Team had been established for a long time, and its reputation only circulated among Dorey City's Hunters. Ordinary people didn't know much about them.

But after this event, Moonlight Team would be different—especially Ed. His name would undoubtedly spread throughout the entire city!

Ed, controlling Lightning, the warhorse, rode up to the three of them and reminded, "Let's hold off on that for now. Though we're close to success, we can't afford to relax just yet."

"When Finniel Morton arrives in Dorey City tomorrow, we should go check it out as well."

"It's best to find a way to infiltrate the City Lord's mansion's banquet. We can't fully relax until everything is completely over."

Hearing Ed's words, Jade, Toronto, and Ford all nodded in agreement.

Then, the four of them, dressed in their Nightcloaks, began heading back toward Dorey City under the cold moonlight.
