Hunter: Growing Stronger with the Light of the Moon!

Chapter 124: Arya

Outside the small town, Ed, along with Jade, Toronto, and Ford, were rapidly making their way toward the town.

They remained on high alert throughout the journey, observing their surroundings to prevent any sudden enemy ambushes.

Ford found something odd and urged his warhorse closer to Ed, speaking loudly, "Captain, it seems a bit too quiet, doesn't it?"

At that moment, Ford saw Ed suddenly look up at the sky.

Ford followed Ed's gaze and saw, under the moonlight, a dark cloud appearing overhead.

Ford was puzzled. Why would there be clouds at this time? And they didn't look like normal clouds.

As the cloud got closer, Ford realized it wasn't a cloud at all, but instead, a massive swarm of black ravens—countless numbers of them!

They were enemies!

Ed immediately shouted, "According to the plan, split up!"

The four warhorses quickly scattered in different directions. Ed, Jade, Toronto, and Ford were all dressed in identical clothing, and from a distance, it was impossible to tell which one was Ed.

Rock, the raven, led the flock as they soared through the sky. His blood-red eyes fixed on the ground below, watching the four identical figures. He grew increasingly frustrated.

Rock cursed under his breath, 'Damn it! I'll split the flock and send them separately! It'll weaken their strength a little, but it won't matter much. After all, none of these people are likely to be Gold level Hunters.'

The next moment, the massive cloud of ravens in the sky split into four parts, each heading toward one of the four figures on the ground.

Ed, riding Lightning, the warhorse, moved quickly toward the small town. He reached into his cloak and touched the black cloth bag he was carrying—it contained a living creature, Melissa's pet, Blue.

Although Melissa wasn't here, when necessary, she could take over Blue's consciousness and control its actions.

Once they determined Finniel Morton's room, Blue could drop the recording stone inside, and everything would fall into place.

The real challenge was figuring out how to enter the town and pinpoint where Finniel Morton was.

Ed didn't find this difficult. He just needed to find a way to shake off the ravens chasing him, then head into the town, conceal his tracks for a moment, and observe.

The building that appeared the most luxurious and had the most guards was where Finniel Morton would be!

As for the room, Ed simply needed to find one with a protective guardian at the door, then toss the recording stone in through the window. That would be enough.

Aside from Finniel Morton, there was no one in the small town who required guards for protection.

The key to everything was to shake off the enemies behind him and reach the town without making any significant noise!

Ed took a deep breath. He currently had no means of attacking the enemies in the sky; the Blue Fire Seal's range was limited, and it couldn't reach the ravens overhead.

He would have to find a way to intentionally expose a weakness, allowing the ravens to land on the ground!

If he brought the flock of ravens near the town, Ed knew he would definitely attract the attention of others. At that point, he could very well be mistaken for an attacker, and Duke Morton could easily capture him.

In such a situation, Vil, parasitizing Duke Morton, could kill Ed before Finniel Morton even saw him, or Vil could simply tell Finniel Morton that Ed was an attacker, a madman, a monster...

Whatever Vil said could easily be passed off.

Without evidence, how could Finniel Morton believe an ordinary Hunter over Duke Morton, who shared the same surname as her?

Ed thought for a moment, then lowered his head, resting it against the ear of his warhorse, Lightning. He quietly murmured a few words.

As they passed over some uneven ground, Lightning seemed to lose its balance and wobbled, as if it might fall to the ground at any moment.

Rock, the raven, saw this and immediately brightened. Without hesitation, it ordered the ravens chasing Ed to take advantage of the opportunity. They swooped down from the sky, ready to launch an attack on Ed.

Ed activated his Hunter's Senses to their highest setting, feeling the mass of ravens behind him. He strained to listen to the sound of their wings flapping, calculating the distance between him and the flock.

Finally, when the ravens, their eyes glowing red, opened their beaks and bared their teeth, extending their sharp talons to strike at Ed, he suddenly turned and extended his left arm toward them!

The Blue Fire Seal's pattern glowed!

The Blue Fire Seal was unleashed!

A blue fire dragon instantly engulfed the ravens trying to attack Ed, the intense flames covering each raven, making it impossible for them to flap their wings. One by one, they plummeted to the ground.

Even as they hit the ground, the ravens continued to burn, emitting a foul odor.

Ed urged Lightning forward at full speed, the ravens falling behind him, burning as though he were leaving a path of flames in his wake.

At that moment, Rock, who was controlling the flock of ravens in the sky, let out a chilling scream of anguish.

The death of those ravens was a huge blow to it.

An ordinary Hunter dared to toy with it!

And that blue fire—what was that?

Why did it have such immense power? The ravens it controlled were not ordinary creatures. Even facing a regular, roaring fire, they wouldn't have caught fire like that!

The blue flames were terrifying!

Rock squawked in frustration, trying to control the remaining ravens to continue pursuing Ed.

But by this time, Ed was already far out of range, and they couldn't catch up!

"Damn! Damn! Damn!" Rock cursed furiously.

It had remembered that damn person. Although it wasn't sure if he was the Ed that Vil had spoken of, even if he wasn't, he was still one of Ed's companions.

It was all Ed's fault!

Rock took a deep breath, deciding not to pursue anymore. Instead, it quickly flew to Vil's room and softly recounted what had just happened.

Vil stood by the window, looking out at the scenery. He casually waved his hand and said, "Alright, you can rest now. Whatever Ed did, it won't change the outcome of the performance."

"Even if he has concrete evidence, Finniel Morton won't believe it."

"Someone has already gone to see Finniel Morton. This is destined to be a magnificent performance."

Meanwhile, Arya had arrived at the door of Finniel Morton's room. She turned to the guard and said, "Please call Finniel for me. I need to speak with her."

The guard replied, "Miss Finniel is resting. It would be better to wait."

Arya immediately responded, "This is important. I need to see Finniel now."

The guard was about to say something else, but Arya interrupted, "You must not have been in Holy City for long, or you would recognize me. Go tell Finniel I need to see her now!"

The guard, no longer hesitating, quickly spoke to his companion and then went to find a maid to notify Miss Finniel.

A few minutes later, the guard returned and told Arya, "Miss Finniel has woken up. You can meet her now. Follow me."

Arya nodded, her expression calm as she followed the guard.

Soon, she arrived at Finniel's room and knocked on the door.

Finniel's voice came from inside, "Come in, Sister Arya."

Arya pushed the door open, and Finniel, still rubbing her eyes in a sleepy haze, looked at her with confusion, seemingly not understanding why she had come to see her at this hour.

Arya didn't say anything. She glanced around the room, then walked over to the window. She drew the curtains over the special glass that blocked the harmful moonlight.

She then sat down beside Finniel and spoke, "I asked, and it is possible to bring the dead back to life, but it comes at a tremendous cost."

Finniel immediately sat up, staring at Arya in disbelief. "Impossible. It's impossible. Once someone is dead, they're dead. There's no way to bring them back. They either become monsters or summon some terrifying existence!"

Arya looked at Finniel with determination, speaking each word slowly, "There is a way! There is a way to bring your brother back to life! I've been searching for a long, long time, and I've finally found it!"

Finniel took a deep breath, looking at Arya, her eyes filled with the desire to know how.

This was something she had never heard of before. In the Hunter's world, bringing the dead back to life was a forbidden taboo, an impossible act. No sorcerer, no matter how powerful, could do such a thing.

Once someone was dead, they were truly gone. There was no coming back.

Arya simply said that Finniel should come to her room to talk.

Finniel had no objections and didn't think much about it. She agreed immediately. She was too eager to learn the method to bring her brother back.

As they were about to leave, Arya adjusted the pillow, stuffed some clothes into it, and covered it with the blanket. Then she opened the curtains.

She looked outside, and in a soft, calm voice, said, "Now, no one can stop me. I will bring him back!"

"My love, I've found a way to bring you back to life. Just wait a little longer, and we'll be reunited soon."
