Nightmares Paradise [LITRPG System Integration]

Chapter 99 Spiritual Items

Mastery of physical limitations detected.

Development of a methodology based around the manipulation over physical form in relation to physical constraints and manifested abilities detected.

Level of understanding and comprehension confirmed.

Individual has grasped the quintessence of how their innate biological and physical constraints have grown since their initial integration of spiritual energy. Tendons and ligaments have been saturated with spiritual energy, refining them into a material greater in comparison to uninitiated mortals of the same Race.

Muscle training and physical combat has resulted in developments of specific physical characteristics. Abilities such as [Behold Thy Luminous Spear, Clad In Green Radiance] and [Behold Thy Phantasmal Spear; Enveloped In Thulian Grace] have resulted in the muscles, flesh and bones within the arms and shoulders experiencing a more pronounced growth.

Development of specific muscle groups has resulted in an above average growth rate amongst members of the same Race.

Numerous different abilities with the Mutation Trait have been taken into consideration. [Lamentation Of A Frozen Affection] and [Ours Is The Blood That Births Winter And Ice] has resulted in extraordinary physical enhancements supplemented through the effects of [Green Shall Become The Ode To Eternity], [Thou Is But A Shadow Of Oneself] and [Eyes Through The Looking Glass].

Mastery over the Seir-Glacial Heart, Murmur-Glacial Marrow and Minerva-Sagacity Eyes detected.

The basis for a method of combat have been detected.

The foundations of thought over action have been detected.

The most nascent form of enlightenment has been detected.

Tallying results…

Mastery evaluation results: Viscount.

Jon's eyes almost bulged, seeing the unfamiliar Rank he had attained through his mastery evaluation. Brushing some of his brown-white strands of hair behind his ears, Jon raised several fingers, counting the Ranks that he had identified in the past.

'Mortality is the first Rank. Following that is Knighthood, the second Rank. After that is Lordship which is the third Rank which is then succeed by Barony, the fourth Rank. A Viscount, must be the fifth Rank then?' Jon tapped his chin in thought.

Tapping on the translucent screen in front of him, Jon accepted his mastery evaluation results, watching as the task reward page transformed into something that Jon had seen once before.

Mortal Rank rewards: Choice of one spiritual item.

Knight Rank rewards: Choice of three fragments.

Lord Rank rewards: Choice of one Mana Core.

Baron Rank rewards: Mortal Title Fragment "Prodigy".

Viscount Rank rewards: Choice of three Mana Cores.

Jon did not even realize that his mouth was wide open, eyes reading over the sheer number of rewards that his Viscount Ranked evaluation had given him.

The familiar sight of a spiritual item reward appeared as the Mortal Rank reward for the completion of the fourth mandatory task. It was the second time that Jon had received the opportunity to choose a spiritual item of his choice, the first being after the completion of his sixty-first optional task.

Jon had not yet chosen what manner of spiritual item to receive through the task reward. After discovering that the formation of a Memento Source Fragment required a Mortal Ranked spiritual item Jon kept his reward in reserve, waiting for the opportunity to combine all the materials required to complete his Memento ability.

With the addition of another spiritual item of his choice, Jon did not need to hesitate any longer when browsing the vast array of spiritual items available to him. Opening his other task reward page, Jon selected an extraordinarily specific item, clicking on numerous different filters to limit the fragments which had been integrated into specific objects.

After a few minutes of searching, Jon found the Mortal Ranked spiritual item that he had his eyes on for the past few weeks.

[Fragment Of Regeneration] [Mortal Ranked Rejuvenating Shirt] (Regeneration]

Effect (Mortal): The fibres of the rejuvenating shirt are woven from the silk produced by the mortal ranked Life-Weaving Worm. The rejuvenating shirt will have tears and damage inflicted onto it restored so long as spiritual energy is fed into it. The rejuvenating shirt will mitigate the effects of heat and cold by half while it is being worn.

The first time that Jon saw the [Mortal Ranked Rejuvenating Shirt], he desired to obtain it purely due to his shrinking number of available clothes. Although Jon often found himself unbothered from the cold, primarily due to his Ice Mana Core, after getting injured so many different times, the brown-haired man had discovered how difficult it was to remove blood from light-coloured clothing.

His dress shirt that he had worn during the battle against the Malum Hobgoblin.

Discarded.

The shirt he had worn against the fire-breathing duck.

A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

Thrown away.

The clothing he wore while fighting the Malum Goblins?

Covered in both his blood and the blood of his enemies.

The thin but long-sleeved shirt he had was wearing while fighting against Han Of The Red Wind?

Also covered in blood. All of which was his that time.

Clothing was something that Jon had taken for granted. In the first few days of the System Introduction, Jon had more shirts, pants and socks than he knew what to do with. Now, after more than one hundred days within the System Introduction, clothing was becoming more and more scarce with each battle that Jon participated in.

He did not need to be more careful while fighting against his enemies.

He did not need to launch attacks from range in order to prevent such things from happening.

Jon required clothing that could keep up with his movements. That could clean itself, or even regenerate damage inflicted upon it through the circulation of spiritual energy. Wearing uninitiated clothing while approaching Knighthood was something that Ashvattha Rana had dissuaded against as well.

Glaucus would not extend to the entirety of his body until after he reached Lordship or Barony depending on what fragments he decided to integrate into [Behold Thy Heretical Armour, Adorned In Chalk Light]. And even then, he could not wear the Heretical Chalk Pauldrons wherever he went.

Jon required simple clothing while he was not fighting or foraging for food or resources.

That was where the [Mortal Ranked Rejuvenating Shirt] came into play.

With a faint golden-white glow, Jon watched as the System manifested the spiritual item in his hands. The pale cream-coloured shirt appeared in front of him, with a design that Jon had seen from traditional East Asian cultures.

The [Mortal Ranked Rejuvenating Shirt] was cool and beyond soft to the touch. Its effect description entailed that it had been crafted from a mortal ranked Life-Weaving Worm, so Jon did not doubt its compatibility with the Fragment Of Regeneration.

Removing the shirt that he was currently wearing, Jon donned his spiritual item, glancing towards his status page and noticing something appear beneath his Weave Mana Core.

Spiritual Items: [1]: [Mortal Ranked Rejuvenating Shirt]

Jon smiled, nodding his head while watching the light from the sixty-first optional task vanish, claiming the final reward that it had given him. While fighting against the Malum Hobgoblin, Jon had used up his final task reward on the Fragment Of Ichthyosaur which Avahni used in order to summon Ler Setanta.

The addition of so many other fragments for him to choose made him slightly regretful that he did not complete the fourth task before, but knew without his preexisting abilities, he would not have survived the battle against the hobgoblin.

The other thing that interested him, was the other Mortal Title Fragment he had received from the fourth task.

Mortal Title Fragment "Prodigy": Concepts and notions become infinitesimally easier to understand and comprehend.

The effect did peak Jon's interest, although wondered if there was some sort of limitation placed on the Mortal Title Fragment. If "concepts and notions" including things such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology in addition to spiritual energy and the understanding of how it interacts with each other, then it was an overwhelmingly powerful Title Fragment.

It had been added to the short list that Jon intended on taking towards Knighthood.

'Mutare Dominus and Maestro for sure. Prodigy is quite tempting, in addition to both Voyager, Pathstrider, and Ariya. Although Virtuoso and Ortus are both interesting in their own right,' Jon thought to himself, enjoying the feeling of his rejuvenating shirt against his skin.

In addition to the spiritual item and Mortal Title Fragment, Jon was given his choice of three other fragments and four Mana Cores of his choice. Although he had integrated six Mana Cores, Jon knew that he would still find a use for additional Mana Cores in the future.

Memento Source Fragments and Wonder Fragments aside, it gave him something to bargain with when he and the others started to explore the System Introduction.

Not to mention the numerous different opportunities that would present themselves when he returned back to Earth. Although it was still quite a ways away, Jon continued to think about his future when he returned back home and what the nineteen-year-old would do with himself.

'Should I just continue going back to school? Would I even be allowed to? Depending on how many people were brought into the System Introduction, people might not have even realized I am gone.'

'Summer would have noticed. Trevor would finish basic training after six months, so he might not have realized… I wonder if Mum and Dad-.'

Jon frowned, dousing the thought within his Sea Of Knowledge with a tidal wave of other memories and experiences.

He did not need to worry about them.

His parents were self-sufficient all on their own. They did not need Jon to worry about them, especially given his current circumstances. His parents had been the one to teach him everything he knew about responsibility of oneself and how to take of one's personal needs, both at home and in the workplace.

His younger siblings would have started to miss him, especially considering the fact that they promised to visit on the weekends or during their school holidays. Cain, being the ten-year-old that he was, did not quite fully understand why his older brother was leaving.

While his two younger sisters, Lydia and Ariel, understood, although did not see why it had to happen quite so soon. Jon often found himself floating within his Sea Of Knowledge, remembering the times he had taken his younger siblings to their weekend sports, or to parties that they had been invited to.

'I cannot believe that they are both fourteen already. Fifteen after a hundred days within the System Introduction! I promised to take them out with their friends for their birthday…'

Jon felt a slight ache within his chest, sniffling a couple times beneath Ashvattha Rana's enormous canopy. Even with his superb control over [Mine Is The Sea Of Knowledge], Jon could not help but wide his eyes a few times, struggling to focus given the turbulence within his imaginary mental construct.

Although Jon wanted to use his Sea Of Knowledge to squash these emotions before they caused significant change within his mental landscape, Jon knew that it was not the greatest of coping mechanisms. He could not hide his emotions from Ashvattha Rana, nor his memories from Schwarz Eis, so it was better to let them play out so long as he was not in combat.

Instead of using [Mine Is The Sea Of Knowledge] to overwhelm his current emotions with something else, Jon instead focused his attention on the rewards he obtained from the completion of the sixth mandatory task.

[6]: Understand the difference between an Ability, Technique, Enhancement, and Spell. Individuals will receive set rewards upon the completion of this task.

Although it stated that individuals would only receive set rewards upon the completion of this task, Jon was pleasantly surprised at what these "set rewards" entailed exactly.

[1]: Choice of one fragment.

[2]: Choice of one Mana Core.

[3]: Choice of one spiritual item.

Seeing the final reward given to him from the sixth task, Jon could not help but let out another chuckle, selecting the "choice of spiritual item" option and filtering through the thousands of fragments and items he could choose from. After another five minutes of searching for the item that Jon was looking for, he smiled selecting the option without hesitation.

[Fragment Of Renewal] [Mortal Ranked Renewing Pants] (Renewal)

Effect (Mortal): The strands of the rejuvenating pants are woven from the fibres of the Yellow-Sun Bamboo. The renewing pants will have tears and damage inflicted onto it restored so long as spiritual energy is fed into it. The renewing pants will increase natural recovery while it is being worn.
