Chapter 1050: You Don't Have to Do This

The child who had just come out of the house quickly found Xiao Ruo and Long Feiyun, bustling as they prepared to leave. Who knows how they managed to get the permit, but they nonchalantly took off in a plane, with the child immediately sneaking in to hide. Given the child's abilities, it was impossible for the two to notice his presence.

Heading to the last remaining border zone, a place far from peaceful. The name itself tells you—last remaining border zone. It means the previous border zones had been conquered by the Alliance long ago, and this one is barely surviving. If it weren't for other countries restraining the Alliance's military, this last zone might have been obliterated.

Currently, several major powers are encircling the border zone. This situation has created a peculiar vacuum zone around it. No power dares to step into this vacuum because entering would provoke severe retaliation from others. This has led some superpower users without affiliations to hide in the border zone.

Shu and El decided to enter this place under William's suggestion. William, without any allegiance and having offended every power, found no suitable place to go except here. A few days ago, their group had already slunk into the chaotic border zone.

This place remains in disarray as before, but there's a slight difference—the inhabitants have now united instead of being in a fragmented state. Though this force is still very weak, given time, they will certainly grow strong. After all, there are a considerable number of unaffiliated power users. Of course, this is provided those outside powers could give them some time.

The unification of people here naturally gave rise to a comprehensive management structure. This has turned the once disordered border area into something resembling an ordinary city with its own rules. These rules are far superior to the former way where each power had its own set of rules.

Just as Shu and others entered the border zone, these rules came into play.

A few soldiers drafted from the border saw Shu's travel-worn group and naturally stopped them. However, upon noticing that they weren't wearing any allegiance badges, the soldiers softened slightly but still blocked their entry.

"Where did you come from?"

"The Alliance?" Shu saw no point in hiding their origins since William and his group were notorious figures of the Alliance. If they were found out later, it might cause even more trouble.

"Why come here?"

"Chased by the Alliance."

"They seem like Alliance people." Indeed, sharp-eyed individuals recognized William's group, "How did they follow you? Who exactly are you?"

Once their identity was exposed, the atmosphere instantly turned tense. Those who were merely asking routine questions now assumed a highly defensive stance, exuding a faint glow prepared to strike if Shu and his group made any move.

Seeing this tense atmosphere, Shu and El immediately raised their hands to show they bore no ill intent, with William and the others quickly mimicking their gesture. This act slightly eased the tension, but the border personnel remained cautious, spreading out to encircle Shu's group to prevent their escape.

"Why are they coming here?" the question was asked again, but this time with a noticeably firmer tone.

"They defected from the Alliance, with no place else to go." Shu, speaking on their behalf, didn't want William's group to speak recklessly and offend these people. If they were sent back now, they would have no other path but death.

"Do you think we should believe you?" a border personnel questioned. He dared not make a rash decision, thus he asked.

"Believe it or not, it's up to you. If you won't let us enter, we'll just leave. We won't make things difficult for you." Shu didn't wish for conflict to break out here. If they couldn't enter today, perhaps they could enter next time. If all else failed, they would try to reach the Underground City, which might be their only option.

The border personnel hadn't expected Shu's words. After a slight pause, he said, "I can let you in, but they must accept our supervision." It wasn't an unreasonable request, given William and his group's past identities. If something went wrong, they could still be used as hostages, though it was uncertain if that would be effective.

So, Shu and others smoothly slipped into the border area.

Meanwhile, in a city deep within the Alliance's territory, Yi Tian was carrying a comatose Yi Yun, evading the Alliance's pursuit. He had concealed his whereabouts well, even though he had just gone through a fight and was now hurrying to restore his energy and strength. He didn't know how far he had traveled, but by the marks left on Shu and El, he had locked onto his intended direction. This gave him a bit of a goal rather than wandering aimlessly.

Yi Tian didn't know what the Alliance might do under the circumstances of not retrieving Yi Yun, so to avoid any accidents, he was racing as fast as he could toward his determined path. However, as soon as he left his hiding spot, he encountered a small patrol of Alliance troops. Luckily, Yi Tian spotted them early and avoided contact, not exposing his trail. Just as he thought he was safe, a dangerous sensation suddenly loomed overhead.

Without any hesitation, Yi Tian threw Yi Yun aside and propelled himself forcefully, crashing towards the source of the danger in the air. His decisive action even startled the superpower user preparing to ambush him.

In just a moment of daze, Yi Tian was upon him, slapping his palm out to smash the other's heart completely. Then, in a swift turn, Yi Tian returned to Yi Yun.

Yi Yun, who had been unconscious, awakened and was crawling away like a caterpillar. His actions were restrained by Yi Tian, preventing him from standing and fleeing, only able to inch along. Before he could get far, Yi Tian was already before him.

"Don't waste your energy." Yi Tian said lightly, grabbing Yi Yun, "I know they put a tracking device on you. But I'm not afraid. Once we leave the Alliance, even they won't be able to take you back."

Yi Yun couldn't speak, glaring fiercely at Yi Tian. He had never seen anyone with such strange abilities, capable of restricting his powers and movements, and even his ability to speak. A person like this could easily kill him, yet Yi Yun couldn't understand why Yi Tian was determined to take him away from the Alliance.

"I told you I'd take you back. Staring at me like that won't help." Yi Tian smiled faintly, then tapped Yi Yun on the neck, knocking him out again and slung him over his shoulder to flee. He couldn't stay in one place for long, or the tracking signal on Yi Yun would quickly lead the Alliance to them.

Sure enough, as soon as Yi Tian left the area, several figures rushed in at high speed. But they were too late; Yi Tian had already taken Yi Yun toward the border. Exhausted, Yi Tian did not know that where he was heading was the border, nor did he know that Xiao Ruo and Long Feiyun were also heading there. He also didn't know that an inexplicable war was about to erupt in the vacuum zone outside the border. He only knew that he had to quickly take Yi Yun out of the Alliance's territory to remove their control over Yi Yun, so he could focus on other matters.
