Chapter 1042: Crystal Clear

The mere gaze made the red figure feel fear, letting out a frantic roar, yet the movements of his hands only accelerated. He didn't want Yi Tian to break free, for that would mean facing a mad, bloodthirsty being. It seemed as if a cold wind swept by his ears, involuntarily making the red figure shiver, and then he witnessed a scene that made him collapse.

A flash of silver light suddenly appeared amidst the dense red flames, accompanied by a faint cracking sound, and then he saw a tiny crack emerge on the massive hammer image. A faint silver glow appeared within the crack, and as the silver light began to spread, the fissures multiplied and became dense. The faint cracking sounds also started to continuously emerge.

It was a sound that caused one to collapse. The fear in the red figure's heart spread to his face and then throughout his entire body, making all his muscles stiffen, halting his hand movements forcibly. Subsequently, he saw the hammer image shatter with a crash, a flash of silver light piercing the darkness, vanishing into the night sky.

That fleeting silver light was stunning to the extreme, yet it also heralded the arrival of death.

Still in a state of shock, as soon as the red figure saw the hammer image disappearing, he knew things had gone wrong. He hurriedly retreated, but no matter how fast he moved, in the end, he was still a step too slow. He saw a flash of silver light before him, and then it abruptly appeared behind him. Before he could understand what was happening, he felt a chill run through his body, and the areas around him that had a hint of brightness were plunged into darkness entirely.

The red blood looked terrifyingly vivid in the red firelight. Wiping the blood from his hands, Yi Tian twisted his form and pounced towards the blue figure on the other side. Just as his body flew out, a loud crack of thunder echoed.

Boom, the thunder light came crashing down, forcibly halting Yi Tian's forward momentum. This was also when Yi Tian finally shifted his gaze onto Yi Yun.

Surrounded by thunder light, Yi Yun's eyes were cold, devoid of the slightest emotion, and his face showed neither fear nor sorrow. Regarding the death of his companion, Yi Yun felt no extra emotion at all, or in his view, whether that person lived or died was irrelevant. What mattered was Yi Tian, as long as Yi Tian died, everything would end.

Another peal of thunder, the air grew heavy, tremors beginning. The radiant thunder light tore through the night sky, crashing down upon Yi Tian like rain. One after another, densely-packed, unavoidable.

As for Yi Tian, after glancing up at Yi Yun, he paid him no further heed. He locked onto the blue figure hiding nearby, waiting for an opportunity. To take away Yi Yun, he needed to eliminate these obstacles, for having a tail behind him was truly not a pleasant experience.

His feet exerted force, and his form instantly became ghostly. Even within the densely rain-like thunder light, Yi Tian maneuvered with ease. With several quick evasions, he had already avoided the dense thunder light, charging towards the blue figure. A silver flame appeared on him and then retracted, making Yi Tian's figure fade into the darkness as soon as it appeared.

Watching Yi Tian disappear before his eyes, a sense of danger immediately emerged in the blue figure's heart. He had clearly seen how the red figure died earlier. It wasn't that he didn't want to help, but he simply couldn't. Before he had a chance to assist, Yi Tian had already broken through the hammer image's restraint.

The red figure's death allowed the blue figure to form a new understanding of Yi Tian's power. He wished to escape, but now he had no opportunity to do so. An icy wind howled around him, and in shock, he hastily mobilized his internal energy to form a thick wind barrier around himself for protection. He had no intention to die in confusion.

But would just a wind barrier suffice? The red figure, even when in an advantageous position, was overturned by Yi Tian. Now the blue figure, still on the defensive, how could he possibly fend off Yi Tian's attack?

Amidst the howling wind, it seemed another sound arose, another wind's sound. Though similar, the minute difference was as stark to the blue figure, a Wind Element superpower user, as a black dot on white paper.

A wind mixed within the wind, but not his own. What situation would this cause? The blue figure understood well. He hurriedly tried to extricate himself from the encircling wind. Before he could act, he heard a cracking sound, followed by his released wind dispersing all at once. However, the wind barrier around him remained, yet it wasn't his wind.

Trapped in someone else's wind, the blue figure grew flustered. Though seasoned through many battles, falling into another's hands left him helpless like a novice.

The survival instinct compelled him to let out a roar, with blinding blue light erupting from his body. A whirlwind centered around him suddenly formed, forcibly colliding with the outer wind barrier. The grating friction sounds were so severe they caused goosebumps to arise involuntarily.

The sound of the wind masked all others, the flickering blue light making it impossible to discern surroundings. Yet, within this wind, there was nothing extra to see.

The blue figure continuously pressed the wind outward, attempting to force break the imprisoning wind barrier from within. No matter how hard he tried, the wind barrier seemed cast of iron, unaffected. Apart from piercing friction noises, no other sound could be heard.

Unable to breach Yi Tian's encirclement, the blue figure grew increasingly anxious, especially since he still hadn't seen Yi Tian appear. This only added to his unease. Not seeing Yi Tian meant he could appear alongside him at any moment, implying his life was firmly within Yi Tian's grasp, and he could lose it at any time.

Realizing he might die in such a place, the blue figure drove his wind force harder, desperate to break free. But before he could escape, he heard an unusual sound amid the wind, distinct from previous friction sounds, instead akin to the sound of something being forcibly torn.

A vague human silhouette appeared amidst the sky-full of wind images. The figure moved slowly, yet carried unmatched strength, splitting the wind barrier apart with his hands.

It was Yi Tian. Even without seeing the figure's face, the blue figure knew that just one person could appear here—Yi Tian. As soon as he saw Yi Tian's form, the blue figure roared, lunging towards Yi Tian. To him, killing Yi Tian was also a means to escape this prison, especially since Yi Tian was their original target.

Instantly transforming into a blue shadow, the blue figure merged into his own released wind, rushing at Yi Tian. For a Wind Element superpower user, merging with the wind renders him invisible, thus making spotting his form not easy. Yet, Yi Tian wasn't concerned. Had he been, he wouldn't have revealed his form now.

Casually glancing at the blue figure merging into the wind, Yi Tian reached out, a touch of silver light sinking into the wind. He then tore through the wind barrier, entering the eye of the storm. He glanced at the omnipresent winds sharp like blades, lightly uttering, "Shatter."

The sound of tearing emerged amidst the surrounding winds, accompanied by screams—wailing, heart-rending screams. As the sound came, faint traces of blood spread through the air, alongside an almost undetectable scent of blood dispersing across the wind.
