Chapter 1040: He Has Arrived

Under the surge of his own energy, Yi Tian actually regained control of his body in a short time. A low laugh emanated from his mouth, tinged with madness and bloodlust. Even without seeing his face, one could imagine the insane expression on it; he was such a madman.

The laughter pierced through the Thunder Ball, reaching the ears of those outside.

Upon hearing this mad laughter, the red and purple figures frowned slightly, feeling uncomfortable and sensing a hint of danger. Instinctively stepping back, the red and purple figures exchanged glances, as if they saw a peculiar meaning in each other's eyes. Suddenly, a green figure appeared beside them with a ripple in the air.

The three of them assumed a posture of vigilance, fearing Yi Tian might suddenly appear before them. However, Yi Tian did not appear suddenly, as he was still trapped within the Thunder Ball, laughing maniacally.

After a bout of manic laughter, Yi Tian looked around at the environment, his eyes glimmering with faint Silver Light and a hint of bloodthirstiness. With a turn of his palm, a Silver Rune he had somehow engraved beforehand appeared in his hand. With a wave of his hand, the rune shot out, trailing Silver Light in its wake.

The merciless aura of destruction surged from the rune, causing the surrounding air to tremble violently. The trembling extended to the Thunder Ball. The purple Thunder Light started to flicker anxiously, like a beast seeing its natural enemy, instinctively feeling a sense of dread, wanting to shrink back. The air outside the Thunder Ball also began to quiver, bubbling and gurgling like boiling water. Then the three figures felt this unprecedented sense of madness and destruction.

Due to the obscuring Thunder Light, they didn't know what Yi Tian had done, but the destructive aura was tangibly present, reaching them. They felt fear, an unprecedented terror welling up in their hearts, as if witnessing a field strewn with corpses, feeling the burning agony of fire, or the intolerable chill of falling into a pit of eternal Xuan Ice.

The surrounding environment seemed to undergo a drastic change at that moment. The electric air that previously rippled out now vanished completely. The trembling air returned to a quiet ambiance, yet a heavy atmosphere of destruction spread immediately after.

The three wanted to flee from there, but their bodies were so heavy they couldn't budge. It was as if they were fixed in place, not daring to move an inch. They watched the Thunder Ball helplessly, feeling the overwhelming pressure collapsing their mental defenses little by little. Before coming, they had heard that Yi Tian was troublesome, but they hadn't expected it to be this cumbersome—or perhaps "troublesome" wasn't the right word, but rather a freakish, monstrous strength.

The root cause of all this, Yi Tian, did not take the time to savor the others' reactions. He just watched the rune drift slowly forward, the glistening Silver Light gradually restraining itself. Previously, using this rune would leave him feeling inadequate, as his power back then was greater than it was now, yet he didn't feel that way now. He could clearly sense every change in the rune, while also knowing he couldn't control it for long. After all, his current strength was insufficient to fully activate this rune.

The rune finally touched the Thunder Light. The roaring Thunder Light dissipated instantly, like snow meeting fire.

There was no ear-splitting explosion as imagined, nor a dazzling brilliance; only a silent dissolution. The Thunder Light seemed to be devoured by the rune, quickly dissipating. In merely a dozen breaths, the entire Thunder Ball disappeared under the rune's influence. The Thunder Ball was gone, yet the rune remained, and so did the destructive aura, albeit much weaker. But even at a reduced state, the aura of destruction was still tangibly present, enough to evoke fear.

Silver Light flashed in his eyes as the rune, having not drifted far, completely dissolved, and the destructive aura vanished instantly. Yi Tian sighed slightly, knowing he ultimately couldn't control this rune. But even so, it was enough, as he had escaped from the Thunder Ball. Originally, he didn't have to use this rune, but to exert psychological pressure on the three, he risked using it, unexpectedly gaining additional benefits.

With the rune gone, the pressure suddenly lifted; the three, straining with all their might against it, felt a lightness. Then, their internal energy surged, causing all three to simultaneously spit out a mouthful of blood. Instantly, the light around them dimmed significantly, but it cleared their minds, knowing that dreadful aura had dissipated. However, relief was short-lived with Yi Tian standing before them, his face brimming with madness, a madness to destroy everything.

"You're quite capable," Yi Tian's hoarse voice emerged, "Now, I'll give you an opportunity: tell me where Bai Lian is. Otherwise, you die." His heart was persistently concerned about Bai Lian, especially after Bai Lian had vanished before his eyes; how could he let go?

The trio did not answer Yi Tian's question; they merely stared coldly at him, displaying a defiant attitude.

"Very well." Yi Tian smirked; his terrifying face bore an even greater bloodthirsty hue. His gaze swept over the trio, but when it landed on the purple figure, his expression froze.

Images flashed through his mind—intense, peaceful, and painful—all making Yi Tian extremely uncomfortable. But at the moment, he couldn't feel these sensations, standing there blankly, looking at the purple figure not far away. Once, he confronted William for this person, but after continuous chasing and fighting, he had exhausted his energy long before facing William, rendering him unable to oppose him. This led to losing another important person for Yi Tian.

Once, he rushed through the night to recover this boy before him, but continually got hindered along the way, eventually wandering inexplicably to another planet. By the time he returned, he lost all traces of the boy. He never anticipated encountering him here, nor expected such timing, seeing the boy soon after meeting Bai Lian.

Yi Tian stepped forward slowly, wanting to touch the boy's young face, which showed a hint of incongruous roughness.

In a tense atmosphere, a single step could trigger a chain of reactions. Yi Tian barely moved when the three simultaneously reacted—a Wind Blade shot towards him with a sharp aura, seeming to want to cleave Yi Tian in two. Following the Wind Blade was the red figure, radiant with firelight, illuminating the boy clearly.

Indeed, it was the boy, the very one Yi Tian was searching for.

At that moment, Yi Tian seemed to forget he was on a battlefield, staring dumbly at the boy, oblivious to the incoming Wind Blade and fire figure. He wanted to seize the boy, preventing him from disappearing from his sight again; he could not bear another loss of someone dear to him.

Silver Light appeared naturally, sensing danger. The Wind Blade shattered upon contact with the Silver Light. However, the fire figure was not deterred by it. A punch came forth, accompanied by blinding firelight and an essence of destruction.

The Silver Light shattered, and his chest took the full force of the punch. Yi Tian only felt a searing pain in his chest, then saw the boy's silhouette retreating as he feared.

As if realizing something, Yi Tian snapped out of his daze, blinding Silver Light erupting around him. With a roar, a heart-wrenching yell burst forth from his mouth, like an expression of his most profound anguish.

"Yi Yun!"
