Chapter 1013: Out of Control

The sound of whooshing continuously filled the air, accompanied by the constant clanging of metal on metal. The wind in the mountains was still roaring, its chilling sound instilling a sense of awe toward nature. Yet, at this moment, Jue was completely unafraid of nature. He hovered in the air, the chaotic wind immediately merging into the Wind Force surrounding him, becoming part of his Wind Barrier. The green light on Jue's body was so faint it was almost invisible, with nearly half of the strange blades swirling rapidly around him, producing a whooshing sound.

He coldly observed Doro, who was already trapped in the Sword Formation on the ground, without a trace of pity in his eyes. Nevertheless, Doro was indeed a formidable man, as he was able to protect himself without suffering any injury under such an intense barrage. However, he was only able to protect himself. Initially, he attempted to approach Jue to stop his attack, but before he could get far, he was trapped in place, unable to advance another step.

The blades didn't have much force, but their speed was incredibly fast. Plus, the blades themselves were extremely sharp and spun rapidly, making it very easy to have one's protective Energy pierced if not careful. Doro felt extremely frustrated; the opponent, evidently unable to match him in strength, had actually managed to trap him. What aggravated him even more was his inability to escape from the encirclement.

Under the dense attack, even advancing a single step was extremely difficult for him. Within the encirclement, Doro's eyes widened in anger as he let out a low roar, shouting, "Yiyin, if you don't come out, I won't care anymore." He merely bellowed without directing his shout toward any specific direction. Everyone knew he was addressing the person hiding, but no one knew exactly where that person was.

"What a useless fool." Hidden in the shadows, Yiyin felt some disdain at hearing Doro's roar. Yiyin didn't expect this seemingly formidable fellow to be so useless, being cornered by someone weaker than him twice in a row. However, he dared not stand by and watch as Doro was driven to the brink by the opponent, so when Doro roared, he suddenly darted out, disappearing into the darkness.

A figure appeared without warning in the pitch-black sky. As soon as this person emerged, they slashed out with an arm-thick Thunder Light. The Thunder Light didn't strike Jue in midair but directly blasted toward Doro trapped on the ground.

With a boom, the blades surrounding Doro were all sent flying, allowing Doro to escape the encirclement. The moment he broke free, without any pause, Doro charged toward Mr. Rui. Since Yiyin had intervened, he need not worry about the Wind Element superpower user in the sky; all he had to do was kill Mr. Rui.

"Who are you?" Jue, his eyes completely covered in a blue glow, looked at the black-clad Yiyin who suddenly appeared in midair. The person before him exerted a tremendous pressure on Jue, even greater than Doro's.

Yiyin gazed at Jue expressionlessly, devoid of any emotion in his eyes. His fingers were wrapped in Thunder Light, and aside from this, no other part of his body exhibited any superpower. Yiyin's face was hidden behind a solid black mask, revealing only his emotionless eyes. His short, sturdy hair highlighted his decisive and swift aura.

"Yiyin." Without finishing his sentence, Yiyin stamped his feet in the air, as if using it as leverage, then quickly lunged towards Jue. His speed was such that it made Jue gasp involuntarily.

Jue dared not let the opponent get close; the moment Yiyin moved, he hurriedly retreated, simultaneously waving his right hand, sending half of the remaining blades towards the incoming Yiyin. The Thunder Light Yiyin emitted moments ago had destroyed all of the blades surrounding Doro; now Jue was left with only a few dozen blades at his disposal.

The opponent charging at him with such speed took Jue by surprise; he initially thought the opponent would launch some probing attacks, yet Yiyin went all out right from the start.

Multiple blades issued whooshing sounds as they approached Yiyin. The paths of these blades were extremely erratic and elusive, making it very difficult to track them. However, Yiyin paid no heed to the incoming blades; he continually changed his stance in the air, performing short bursts, sudden stops, and sharp turns, even rolling in midair several times. Dodging the attacking blades one by one, Yiyin closed the distance with Jue in the blink of an eye.

It was hard to discern how Yiyin moved in the air, performing such a multitude of actions. It was a level of maneuverability even Jue, a Wind Element superpower user, didn't dare claim to possess. Startled by Yiyin's prowess, Jue dared not slow down at all, as he sensed an unprecedented crisis and fear at Yiyin's movement—a nearly instinctive primal intuition. He knew that if he clashed head-on with Yiyin, he would meet certain death.

Thinking of the opponent's power, Jue immediately turned and dived towards the ground. Evading a master like Yiyin in the air was immensely stressful, even for a Wind Element superpower user. The best plan was to enter the forest, where he could not only avoid the opponent but also lay traps. Fortunately, tall trees and forests weren't lacking in the mountains. Diving into the forest, Jue immediately dimmed the green light on his body, even retracting all the blades that had been swirling around him. The forest was ridiculously dark, with the outside lights and moonlight completely unable to penetrate. Thus, after taking a turn inside, Jue vanished entirely.

Watching Jue plunge into the forest, Yiyin also dove in without hesitation, utterly unafraid of Jue's tricks. On the contrary, within the forest, he possessed advantages Jue was unaware of. As the two ventured into the woods, starting guerrilla warfare, the battle outside grew fiercer.

Initially, the number of superpower users Doro brought exceeded Mr. Rui's side. However, having more superpower users didn't guarantee victory, as the high-end weaponry on Mr. Rui's side was enough to instill fear in any superpower user. The ordinary people Doro brought had already been overpowered due to a lack of firepower, with the remaining few barely holding on. Mr. Rui's ordinary people began targeting the superpower users, and some with accurate shooting skills started their ambush.

Muffled noises continuously emanated from the guns, immediately followed by a superpower user from Doro's side suffering severe injuries. Initially, the superpower users didn't notice, but as the casualties mounted, Doro's forces began realizing something was amiss. Where they once suppressed Mr. Rui's superpower users, they found the resistance growing significantly. By the time they discovered the ordinary people on the opposing side were the ones targeting them, they had already lost nearly ten superpower users, with several more severely injured, completely losing combat capability. This rendered the number of superpower users even on both sides, yet there was a significant disparity in the number of ordinary people.

For the first time, those superpower users realized that ordinary people, usually seen as easy targets, could cause them such trouble. What aggravated them even more was their inability to break free and attack those ordinary people, thus becoming moving targets. Tied up by the opposing superpower users, they were at a loss for solutions.

The superpower users Doro brought along were in a bind, and he found himself in the same predicament.

Doro finally achieved his wish, charging right in front of Mr. Rui, raising his blade without hesitation to strike. In his eyes, this person he longed to annihilate day and night was turning into a lifeless pile of flesh and blood. A smile crept onto Doro's face, a sinister smile of satisfaction for avenging his hatred. This smile was so grotesque that Solres, seeing Doro's grin, involuntarily shivered and then collapsed helplessly to the ground.

Mr. Rui's expression remained unchanged as he coldly watched the oncoming Doro, his dagger whirling effortlessly to guard in front.

With a clang, sparks flew, the dagger blocking Doro's violent strike. The flame on the blade seemed held back by something, the fire that should've surged towards Mr. Rui snuffing out, retreating into the blade. Doro's expression changed; he pulled back the blade and struck again, putting in his full strength this time. He refused to believe he couldn't break Mr. Rui's dagger with such power.
