The Tathāgata Must Fail

Chapter 199: Quick Battle and Quick Decision

The sky was a vast ocean of Heavenly Dao, filled with rampant flames of war.

The Undying Emperor transformed into eight suns, whose radiant illumination left nothing hidden.

It was the power that had destroyed countless Star Palaces; where the sunlight touched, everything cracked, shattered, dispersed, and evaporated. Divine Power Creatures trapped on the ground scurried in all directions, as fear spread like a plague.

Beneath this power, only streaks of golden light soared into the sky, exploding into fiery dragons and violently colliding with the suns.

That was Sun Wukong.

"Sun Wukong!"

The ground vibrated, bursting out in dazzling light.

A Fire Phoenix shot up from the ground, sheathed in flames as it soared into the sky: "I'm here to help you!"

Crimson flames spewed from its mouth, shielding Sun Wukong's incarnation from an attack.

"Hmm?"

Sun Wukong looked over, the Fire Phoenix was incredibly powerful, actually blocking an attack.

"Why have you come?"

He asked.

"If you die, we all die."

Said the Fire Phoenix.

It understood that only by helping Sun Wukong defeat the Undying Emperor would there be a glimmer of survival.

"Good."

Sun Wukong laughed heartily, holding the Jingu Bang he dashed forward, covering thousands of miles in an instant.

The Fire Phoenix followed, its scalp exploding in awe, thinking Sun Wukong truly unparalleled in grace and invincible across the world.

Sun Wukong charged towards one of the suns, but then suddenly furrowed his brows.

The light from his Jingu Bang had dimmed.

"In our presence, all Magical Treasures become useless, and your power will gradually vanish."

The Undying Emperors above taunted him.

Chilling murderous intent and the deadly aura roaring from the ground engulfed Sun Wukong.

"One."

Sun Wukong suddenly said.

As soon as the words fell, a golden light surged from the Golden Hoop, turned into an arrow shooting towards the sky, and instantly fired, splitting the fiery sky into two.

With a "boom," the sky dramatically changed, a white light of polar day exploded in the sky.

Everyone looked up.

A blinding ring of light spread across the sky, and among the eight suns, the light from one disappeared.

"Seven left."

Sun Wukong said.

The earth trembled, and the other Undying Emperors' hearts surged with disbelief as they watched this scene.

How could this be.

The Jingu Bang still held such formidable power!

Their gaze returned to Sun Wukong, who for eons had roamed Chaos, unbeatable by anyone, let alone slain.

"Sun Wukong, we are the Undying People!"

The seven suns abruptly erupted with light, shining on the fallen sun, their power allowing the Undying People's trait to be pushed to the extreme. Even if their souls scattered, they could be revived instantly and the cycle could continue without end.

This was the most terrifying aspect of this world.

However...

This time they miscalculated.

The dim light flickered, then burst forth again, turning the whole sky a vivid red.

"How is this possible!"

The sun fell under the fearful gaze of the Undying Emperors.

"Why like this?"

They were shocked.

"I've used the Heavenly Dao to stop your light."

Sun Wukong revealed a Divine Map behind him, majestic and sacred.

The research by Erqing had not been in vain, and with the crow's leak, he already knew how to contend with the Undying People.

"How dare you, impudent child!"

After a wave of horror, the Undying Emperors burned with rage, and their terrifying energy fluctuations tore open the ground.

They had never seen an enemy that could contend with them.

What was even more frightening was that Sun Wukong's power seemed endless, still undiminished after all this absorption.

"Again!"

Sun Wukong charged up with a smile.

Chaos churned as he once again became a blinding beam of light shooting into the heavens, at his side a powerful aura unfolded, imprinting fire Dao patterns, warding off the attacks of the Heavenly Soldiers and Generals.

The aura was incredibly strong; the assaulting Undying Heavenly Soldiers burst into blood mist without exception, their blood filling the sky with a metallic scent.

"Sun Wukong, you're using too much power in the fight!"

The Fire Phoenix following behind turned pale with shock.

Why was Sun Wukong using so much power at this moment!

"He's doing the right thing!"

Suddenly, a voice rose from the ground: "Only with this can we make swift and decisive battle!"

The Fire Phoenix looked down to see a colossal lion flying up from the surface.

The lion's eyes blazed with the flames of hatred; he could no longer flee like a dog losing its home. Many Daoists had died here, and the air still carried their unwilling roars.

"This land is absorbing Sun Wukong's power, at an alarming rate."

The giant lion said: "He must give it his all to defeat them before his power is drained!"

The Fire Phoenix suddenly realized: "No wonder!"

"We'll help him too!"

Other Divine Power Creatures also took to the air, alongside the colossal lion.

They could not match the suns, but they could withstand the Heavenly Soldiers for a while.

Sun Wukong fought at the forefront, his fervent battle will turning into a blaze of light behind him, enveloping the other creatures within.

This filled the Fire Phoenix and the giant lion with awe; Sun Wukong's Spell was so vast, beyond comprehension.

They cast aside all hesitation, unleashing their power freely, the sky growing even hotter.

The battle raged, scorching the land, the eyes of Divine Power Creatures on the ground reflected the dazzling light, which trembled in their pupils, turning into a yearning for resistance.

Then—

"Let's all help!"

They let out a roar, charging into the sky one after the other.
